Newcastle United have confirmed their 25-man squad for the first half of this Premier League campaign. As expected after the disappointing deadline day, Bruce has named four goalkeepers in the squad.
#NUFC can today confirm our 25-man squad for the first half of the @premierleague season.

— Newcastle United FC (@NUFC) September 9, 2021
Here is the official 25-man squad Bruce has named:
1 Martin Dúbravka
2 Ciaran Clark
3 Paul Dummett
5 Fabian Schär
6 Jamaal Lascelles
7 Joelinton
8 Jonjo Shelvey
9 Callum Wilson
10 Allan Saint-Maximin
11 Matt Ritchie
12 Jamal Lewis
14 Isaac Hayden
16 Jeff Hendrick
17 Emil Krafth
18 Federico Fernández
19 Javier Manquillo
21 Ryan Fraser
23 Jacob Murphy
24 Miguel Almirón
26 Karl Darlow
27 Freddie Woodman
28 Joe Willock
29 Mark Gillespie
34 Dwight Gayle
36 Sean Longstaff
Newcastle can resubmit their squad in January where we’ll hopefully bring in some players at least on loan.
The club has also released images from today’s training session. The Magpies who were away on international duty (Emil Krafth, Jamal Lewis, Jeff Hendrick, and Fabian Schar) are back in training.
However, there is no Callum Wilson in any of the images. The statement released with the photographs simply said Steve Bruce would provide an update on the striker during Friday’s press conference for the Manchester United match. It looks like we’ll be without Callum on Saturday.
Karl Darlow, however, is back in training so should at least make the bench for Old Trafford. Elliot Anderson is also working his way back to full fitness after a hip problem sidelined him for the entirety of pre-season. The 18-year-old did not have to be registered in the 25-man squad.
So Bruce will likely be without Jonjo Shelvey, Martin Dubravka, and Wilson this weekend. Ryan Fraser has also suffered what looks to be a serious injury while training with Scotland. He was seen in a walking boot on Monday.
Tomorrow’s press conference should provide some insight into the severity of both Callum’s and Ryan’s injuries. However, it looks like we’ll be without some firepower against The Red Devils as Miguel Almiron could also be banned.

Woke up with a great feeling this morning that the Manure game will be Bruce’s last game, 1 hour before kick off Newcastle United takeover is complete and announced, full media coverage goes into overdrive overshadowing the return of R2d2 who sulks and gets sent off on his 2nd debut and Jeff Hendrick comes on to score the winner.

Apparently the original list had Wilson in twice and a keeper missing. The club is ran like a two bit outfit, it’s embarrassing.

Comment #15Lot of talk about holidays/visiting the Lake District. Would appear a lot of the blog codgers are interested in this area.
I’ve done some internet searches and discovered a site called “Pensionersforum” and low and behold they do a section on visits to the Lake District and also posting your codger photos on the forum as well.
http://www.pensionersforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=18173.0
This site could supplement those who have recently joined that sewing/embroidery blog I recently posted about. You old codgers need to keep yourselves busy. Keep ya brains working.

Comment #17Jail I seriously think these next two fixtures are pivotal in him still being here, we lose them both and I think he’s gone, that’s only if my good feeling doesn’t happen of course.

Comment #18How can folk say Joelinton is a good player/improving player. Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinions – I am of the opinion that those who think he is a good player then become rather dubious in the other things they spout.
The bloke is a knacker and at his age is not suddenly going to transform into the next Pele.
Crap control, scuffs shots gets out jumped following big boot upfield. He just aint got it.

Comment #21“”Michael Chaplin, the celebrated playwright and television scriptwriter. has not attended a home game since surrendering his season ticket in disgust in 2019 and, when asked whether that will change, provides the following answer: “If this zombie club eventually finds an owner who terminates its apparently endless living death, who truly respects it, the city, its players and supporters, the answer is simply – yes, in an instant.””

Comment #22How ever it takes place, if Bruce leaves the club will struggle to appoint a replacement and it will cost the ownwer a small fortune to employ another mediocre manager from the merry-go-round.

Carlton……… Yes I desperately need to get back to see family and friends who all think I’ve abandoned them. As this is a Covid red light country it’s very hard to move without being vaccinated. Problem is there are no vaccines here so trying to go elsewhere to get it done.
I will come back permanently when my work is done here. Home is where the heart is.

Surely he should have named one of them as a phantom number nine.
