Newcastle Collapse Late To Suffer 4-1 Defeat At Manchester United

Newcastle put in a valiant effort until collapsing late at Old Trafford. Manchester United found their stride in the second half as The Magpies continue their poor start with a 4-1 defeat. A goal from Javier Manquillo made it interesting for a few minutes but the hosts grabbed three goals in the second half to seal all three points.

Steve Bruce made no changes for the second half after trailing 1-0 at the break. The lads started brightly offering a threat on the counter.

Newcastle found the leveler through an unlikely source in Javier Manquillo in the 56th minute. Almiron started the break with some superb dribbling. He found Saint-Maximin who laid it off for Manquillo in the box. The Spaniard provided an excellent finish for his first goal as a Magpie to make it 1-1.

It took just over 5 minutes for Man United to answer. It was another goal from Ronaldo in which Woodman should have done better. Luke Shaw surged up the pitch playing Ronaldo into the box. He took a touch before firing a shot that went through Woodman’s legs to give the hosts a 2-1 advantage.

Newcastle came close in the 67th minute. Ritchie received a pass from Joelinton on the left. He played it back to the Brazilian who showed strength to keep upright in the box. His shot was punched over the bar by De Gea for a corner.

Bruce made his first change in the 77th minute. It was an attacking one with Jacob Murphy coming on for Javier Manquillo, who put in an excellent shift down the right flank.

Bruno Fernandes made it 3-1 with a beautiful strike in the 80th minute. It started with a superb kick from De Gea to release Mason Greenwood. He was pushed wide but played it to Pogba who found Fernandes outside the box. Newcastle’s fatigue showed as they failed to close him down resulting in his long-range effort that sailed into the top corner.

Jamal Lewis came on for Ciaran Clark soon after the goal. A few minutes later it was Jeff Hendrick on for Willock. Both changes were straight swaps with Lewis on the left side of that back three and Hendrick into the midfield.

The changes did little to affect the outcome. Newcastle were out of gas and unable to mount any late comeback. Jesse Lingard added a goal in stoppage time to make it another lopsided result.

It was a decent effort for around 75 minutes. However, that is little consolation as we have just 1 point and have conceded 12 goals in our four matches. We now are only above Norwich in table as the slide continues.

Chancel if my predict a point is bang on he has to go or Ashley loses his £120 million cash cow, either that or Ashley is a complete tool who is willing to stump £50 – £60 million to get us back up straight away. Or is this just another way of claiming more through the CAT case us being relegated, at the moment everything NUFC related is defying logic.

TTB, exactly, no logic at all to how our club is run. I’m basing my thoughts on a repeat of the McClaren season: Charnley employs a wrong un and leaves it too late to get rid.

Woodman is in the same unenviable as Alnwick was, not enough EPL experience and needs to be given a break.

If Darlow still aint fit then play Gillespie.

Today would have been a perfect opportunity to give Young a run out for 15 minutes instead of Hendrick, the game was lost by then anyway.

Man.U. with proven goal scorers Fernandez, Greenwood, Martial, Lingarde, and Ronaldo versus NUFC with proven goal scorers er Willock.
Mismatch and a fair, unsurprising result.

As someone else already pointed out the overall conditioning of our team is poor. We can’t last 90 minutes and look knackered as a team at 75-80 minutes and have been punished for it.

What has happened with the off season conditioning programs and then pre-season training is anyone’s guess. It is not professional standard.

Unfortunately this was another shaky one for Woodman and the overall defense. We’ll need Darlow in against Leeds and hopefully he will be up to speed right away.

Reilly that’s a shocking interview, as if he has the nerve to sit there and say we were in all week, was he bollicks. He’s getting away with murder at these press conferences, needs a journalist with a giant set of testicles to call him out and interrupt him when he interrupts.

Manure weren’t that great today, we played slightly better in patches and still got done in 4-1. 1 point from our relatively ‘easier’ start to the season is not good at all and it’s hard to see where the points are going to start coming from.

Mr. Brucie never walks carltoon. We should all know that by now. He has a million excuses to call on. Examples: “my underpants were too tight today. I’ll do better next match. I had a seagull drop a big one in me left eye just before half time. It made all the difference. Me hemorrhoids were acting up during the anthem. We never quite recovered.”

Well Mash and Clueless save yourselves anymore embarrassment . Admit to the Premier League NUFC are simply not good enough to play in their Premier League and ask them if we can resign membership now!
They and the six rich clubs don’t want us anyway and were hoping we’d be relegated last season. This season we certainly will so do the honourable thing and resign membership now.
The Club is an embarrassment to everyone!

No point sacking him. No manager worth his salt would come to work for this wretch anyhow. Sadly lack of investment in last window will clearly come back to haunt us. Let’s all get real and accept that the present squad is nowhere near strong enough to compete in the Premiership. If everyone of you are honest you can not be happy merely to ply for 17th or better season in season out just to line Mash’s pocket. No the time has come for all supporters to throw in the towel until a change of ownership occurs if indeed it EVER happens.
Sick to death of the whole Chabang!

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce, who played for Manchester United, said of Ronaldo : “That is the goalscoring instinct of a centre-forward, where our defenders haven’t followed it in and he is on the end to get a tap in and change the game.

“If there is a genuine superstar among everyone, then this kid is, with what he has achieved. We have witnessed it again today. He is something else.”

    Bruce where’s your inner superstar?

If we’d had a goal scorer on the pitch we’d have been leading at half time. May still have lost but would have run them close. Teams know we won’t score many without Wilson. Too easy to play against. But we all knew this would be an issue. If Gayle is our other goal scorer, as Joe defo isn’t, then why didn’t he play?
