Newcastle At Man United – Team Prediction, Injuries, And Poll Result

This is the team I predict Steve Bruce will name for this afternoon’s match at Manchester United. It has three changes from the draw against Southampton two weeks ago.

Callum Wilson is out with a thigh strain after a decent start to his campaign. Despite his two goals, Newcastle have just one point to show for it.

I see both Isaac Hayden and Paul Dummett returning from their recent injuries. Dummett hasn’t played this season but did start the final twelve matches to close the last campaign.

Bruce has four ruled out through injury with Karl Darlow and Elliot Anderson back in training. Darlow could be in contention for a starting place. Bruce also mentioned yesterday young Joe White could be in the squad.

The Red Devils will be missing Marcus Rashford and a few others but do have the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to soften the blow.

Newcastle United Injuries

Callum Wilson (thigh), Martin Dubravka (foot), Ryan Fraser (ankle), Jonjo Shelvey (calf)

Manchester United Injuries

Marcus Rashford (shoulder), Alex Telles (ankle), Scott McTominay (groin), Dean Henderson (COVID – late fitness test), Phil Jones (knee – late fitness test)

Our poll is as expected after a disappointing deadline day combined with the poor start to the season. Almost 90% of the close to 2,000 voters expect a defeat at Old Trafford. That is not surprising in the least.

How Will Newcastle Do At Manchester United On Saturday?

All eyes will be on this match for Ronaldo’s return. Newcastle do have some extra motivation to impress. However, without Wilson along with a rickety defense, there is always the potential things could get really ugly this afternoon.

On the other hand, lads could rise to the occasion with Allan Saint-Maximin determined to put on a show. Hopefully, we can keep The Red Devils reined in and grab an unlikely result to spoil Ronaldo’s likely second debut at Old Trafford.

Only thing that will be worse than the score today is the Bruce presser afterwards , no doubt he will be singing the praises of the big big team and how we’ll dust ourselves off for a big big game next week against another big club … Anyone got any depression tablets handy

Looks like the impression I’m getting from the Bruce wavers is if it’s not a 9-0 defeat he will have his arse kissed again by his zombie hordes

It’s bad enough when your owner knows zilch about football but even worse when the de facto CEO Charnley hasn’t a scooby either. What on earth possessed him to pursue Bruce to such extraordinary lengths after the same fiasco with McLaren. Yet for that cluster — Charnley gets a massive pay rise. Any communication with the fans at all would have made him swerve both those appointments.

Just so sad when all the people in authority at SJP are so the least qualified to be.

Everyone is there to see cr7 do his magic.

Limelight is stolen by a relatively unknown player from the wee club, to quote Sir Alex: ASM.

    Wouldn’t you luv it?

It used to be that when you got 3-4 teams out of the way, with the rest you gave yourself a fighting chance.

These days there’s like 13-14 of those 🙂

Regardless how many Manure put past us today you will still have the happy clappers asking Bruce to give them a wave during the Leeds game.
Bruce and co are under no pressure at all to bring results to the table, why should he care.
Ashley has set a target of 17th, even Bruceless might manage that bearing in mind there are some piss poor teams , even in the PL.
A 3 year rolling contract tells you everything about where we are and our ambitions.
Not a single PL club would contemplate such a contract for such an inept manager as Bruce, yet our fans seem to accept the same barrel scraping lack of ambition every season,
You had the chance to vote with your feet this summer, now unfortunately you have to reap what you sow, so get on with it.

Haven`t bothered watching Football Focus today, no doubt it will be the CR show and how wonderful Manure will be with him in their ranks.
No mention of the half million weekly wage he will be getting, or how come they are allowed to purchase him while being half a billion in debt.
The PL is a shit show which is so blatant in its corruption that even a blind man can see it, iv`e got no time for it, football is dead in this country for me.

Look no need to panic. I know he scored a hat trick against us last time in a 6-0 whipping (or was it 6-1?)

However, he has not scored a premier league goal in 12 years!!!!!

Even Andy Carroll beat that (By one)

BBC giving it large on Football Focus about the return of Ronaldo. Nauseating to say the least.

We are going to be the laughing stock of the football world today – 5 -1 to Man U.
    Maxi getting our consolation goal.

It was previously mentioned on here to play Maxi at centre forward – one of the daftest suggestions to grace these pages.

No doubt he will be knocking one out every time his beloved Manure hit the back of our net, what an absolute balloon .

WLToon. hard to argue vs that. Real Madrid have got around it by issuing 20 year bonds. (a promise to pay back plus interest) when they are £800 million in debt.

Think about that, We are trying to sell our club for £350 million.

At the top, apart from Germany the whole of European footie is built on sand.

Its true, Ashley is trying to sell the club, but the corrupt powers that be won`t allow it to happen, another reason to pour scorn on the PL.
I refuse to watch anything relating to the PL any more, MOTD, Football Focus and any other stream out there which advertises the greedy 6 corruption bus is history.

I’d like to see Maximin switch sides and have Gayle on the left side — he’s played coming in from that side for Palace in the past. Plus I think Maximin might have better luck against Shaw than Wan-Bissaka.

Joelinton would possibly be better at connecting up play, but how much play is realistically going to need linked up in that area of the pitch? Probably very little until maybe the last 5 minutes.

GL to Ledges in the FPL, I have taken the gamble that Ronaldo will not start, and gone for Greenwood as my captain — should be interesting to see how decisive that one is, as Ledges has Ronaldo with the armband.

Watched the 1st story on Soccer Saturday and guess what, it’s Ronaldo’s return.

There are over 20+ broadcasters from around the world covering the game at OT this afternoon.

    No one mentioned Newcastle.

It was all about “how many games, minutes etc is Ronaldo going to get?”

And Geoff actually said that it was right that the game wasn’t on live @ 3 as it would ruin the day for supporters of all other clubs around the Country. Wtf??

Going to hibernate now for the next few hours, might pop back later on to read some of the fall out. 🙂

    Cavalcade at the airport.
Tom Cruise had flown his helicopter (from Birmingham) to Buttermere to do his own paragliding stunts over the lake.
Maybe it was just a film take linked to this.

Just like the scenes they filmed in Glasgow to recreate ticker tape parade of Neil Armstrong in New York.
Only problem was they filmed a modern local number20 bus in the background.

No chance it was Bruce on his way out, Ashley flying away or Saudis incoming.

I was speaking to a neighbour today who mentioned that he was going up north to the Siege, thought for a moment he meant todays game but he was referring to a theatre on the Quayside.

I’ve never heard of it, so after my time up there, he’s going to some Brass Band event in November.
