Bruce Calls Up Young Forward To First-Team Training

With Callum Wilson likely ruled out until next month due to a thigh strain, Steve Bruce has drafted Dylan Stephenson to train with the senior squad according to The Chronicle. The 18-year-old has been on fire for the U23s so far this season with 5 goals in 5 appearances.

His exploits put him on the shortlist for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for August. He scored 5 goals in 3 August league starts. Other youngsters in contention are:

Aston Villa’s Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal’s Omari Giraud-Hutchinson, Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, Chelsea’s Harvey Vale, Manchester City’s James McAtee, Norwich’s Jonathan Tomkinson, and Tottenham Hotspur’s Dilan Markanday.

Stephenson joins both Elliot Anderson and Joe White as 18-year-old’s involved in first-team training. The Geordie teenager was handed a professional deal earlier in the summer after an impressive campaign highlighted by a first-half hat-trick against Leeds in the FA Youth in April.

Dylan has primarily played striker in the early part of this season. He was often deployed on the right for the U18s, where he also managed to find the back of the net consistently.

Stephenson is another promising youngster who has risen through the Academy in recent years. Hopefully, his call-up to the senior squad will provide him with some valuable experience and help to accelerate his development.

Also I don’t think Newcastle, especially takeover stuff, really get’s talked about on any other social media platforms. Certainly to the same audience as Twitter.

I think he’s only guilty of trying to keep fans in the loop as best he can, considering the NDA’s that he has signed. We all need that little bit of hope to keep us going in these desperate times as supporters.

There’s every chance you’re spot on and I’m wide of the mark, it’s just how I read into it. I don’t think Ashley is the type of person to keep Keith in the loop. I see Ashley as more of the type to thank him for his work, taking the case off him and then casting him to one side. In the past his posts seemed like small updates clearly being careful what he could say. But mentioning new bidders (why would he be told about them?), plane movements and a sale in weeks (again why would know that?) just seems like strange things to report and is in line of the attention seeking itks.

Stephenson may well be on the bench Friday but I wouldn’t bet on him getting any game time.

When we played Leeds last season, it was on the back of them leaking lots of set piece goals. The reporter asked Bruce what plans he had in place to take advantage of this. His response? He said “I had no idea.” He had absolutely no idea Leeds were bad at set pieces. Everyone in the country knew.

Since we played Leeds, Bruce has masterminded just 7 wins out of the last 24 games.

You have to go into the far reaches of league one to find a manager on a worse run.

Poor old Shearer is fed up with the club. But the fans are not sick of it. Not sick enough anyway. They keep turning up but they are browned off. Not happy at all.

He’s also a striker ! The only recognised striker we have left after Wilson is Gayle , and for some unknown reason , Bruce doesn’t like playing him !?!

So give the lad a go !

For the finest singing fans in football….a short reminder of the song that will drive Ashley, Charnley and Bruce over the edge!

(To the melody of “Skip to my Lou”
    Rafa, Rafael
    Rafa, Rafael
    Rafa, Rafael
    Rafael Benitez!

I’d love to be there Friday singing my lungs out! 😀

There are no NDA preventing other buyers from raising interest in buying NUFC, not yet anyway..

    It is all conjecture.

However I think KP has been treated appallingly by Ashley which is normal coming from him..

I love it when Carltoon loses her rag.

Always on point and says it like it is.

Reading TDS comments it’s hard to beleive he’s a fan as I can’t see any passion for the club or team, if you’re happy to just accept things is sport the thing for you?

Comes across to me as of he’s saying we should accept our lot.

The most passionate fans in the country should just STFU and be happy we have a club in PL.

    Foot that.

IF any of these latest TO rumours are true this Ambani guy is an interesting development given he has just taken on the chairman of PIF into his company! Sadly no meat on the bone to this yet & could be pr to dampen down Fridays flames!

    Evening all,
Has anyone heard the rumours of the Ambani family joining forces with Pif to support the bid?apparently they are going to hold a bigger stake but Pif will still hold majority.
Allegedly this will resolve all the takeover issues I’m not sure what to make of it really.
I’m a glass half full kind of guy but with this saga dragging have kind of dismissed it already..

Somethings got to give soon as the clubs heading into freefall

What a time to start taking the kids to the match was optimistic at the start of the season and was hoping the kids would be as passionate as me lol
West Ham game when the first goal went in and the ground erupted my sons expression on his face was priceless he loved it along with my daughter then second half when we kind of folded he looked disinterested
Southampton game they both seemed to enjoy it up until the last 2mins
I’m kind of worried for them on Friday as I think it may be to hostile.

    What’s your thoughts?

Seems a bit odd they’d restructure the deal now.

Many mentioned over a year ago they could restructure the deal and pass the O&D test.

    Whys it took so long.

The more I hear the more it smells fishy.

Maybe the Saudis now realise that they will just continually be blocked so want to get in with this restructure then just buy this other guy out at a later date!
I’m totally unsure if that is within PL rules like! 🙂 🙂

There is absolutely no chance Bruce will resign under any circumstances. His ego is colossal,he really does believe he is a great manager because he has hundreds of games under his belt.Unfortunately he fails to acknowledge that he is statistically one of the very worst managers in Premier League history. He is a man who has been surrounded by arse lickers telling him how great he is since he was a child and nothing could happen to weaken his delusional self confidence.Every time he speaks he embarrasses himself further but he can’t or won’t accept it.This serial failure will guarantee Championship football next season.

I want to contest the whole “Mr. Brucie is the worst manager we’ve ever had thingy”. Johnny C. had a 15% win percentage with us. 15%! Wor Brucie has a 30.1% winning rate. Look at the difference! This is rock bottom versus horribly mediocre or worse obviously. So let’s count wor blessings lads. What’s wrong with horribly mediocre or worse? Harrumph!!!!

Just eight days after he left his role as Newcastle United’s interim under-23 lead coach, Gary Caldwell has been appointed player development manager at Manchester City.

How many people and groups are there left that Mikey can pretend to sell the club to? Is it in the dozens? Will we have to go through this for another 20 years with 4 or 5 relegations along the way? Will Mikey leave the club to his kids to continue the fine tradition of pretending to sell the club in between relegations? Time will tell lads and lasses.

Would prefer to have someone not as wealthy but a full understanding of how a club should be run and how to maximise potential and promote home grown talent with just the odd flair player.

I think if we play well and actually beat Leeds on Friday then the SJP crowd will stay onside. But if it’s bad then no amount of BS takeover rumours will hold the fans back. There have just been too many. And let the vitriol continue until we start playing well and winning and/or there is a genuine change in ownership. We have been in limbo for 2 years now since the PIF deal came across Ashley’s desk. As Frog says, until we see the owners on the pitch it’s not happening.

Think we will get beat off Leeds unfortunately
Personally I think our team are not fully fit but also we spend to much time chasing shadows and then look burnt out with 30 mins to go.
Which I think is leading to players constantly picking up knocks and then getting rushed back to quickly.
Only a matter of time before maximan picks up a knock and we are thread bare for replacements.
