Here is Freddie Woodman’s tweet from the day after the announcement. Woodman made his Premier League debut in our first match of the season against West Ham at St. James’ Park. Freddie has tweeted part of the interview he did after that match along with a message to the fans.

Captain Jamaal Lascelles met with Amanda Staveley shortly after the takeover was confirmed. He posted this to message to Twitter on the night of the announcement.

Here are some tweets from former Magpies on the exciting times ahead for Newcastle United.

Bruce sure as hell doesn’t speak Geordie. I don’t know what that accent is, but Geordie it is not. He sounds more like me nana trying to impersonate Hyacinth Bucket.

I’d really like to see what Jones’ does. It will be interesting to see what changes he makes. If tactics stay the same, but certain players are dropped then you will get an idea what Bruce’s input was.

It sickens me to my core how many people are excited to be owned by Saudi Arabia. At the end of the day football is only a game and Saudi Arabia is one of the most vile and despicable countries on the planet. Punishment for being gay? Death. Punishment for adultery? Death by stoning. Punishment for blasphemy? Death. Punishment for apostasy? Death. How sick is our society that we can overlook these things just so our local football team might win a trophy? The premier league owners and directors test is a joke

The more I read about Favre the more I’m leaning towards him.

We need a strong immediate up turn in performances and form, a strong first full season under new management.

That’s the repeating pattern throughout his career. Getting teams their best finishes in years in his first full season.

Also plays counterattacking football which this current lot are most suited too.

Overperformed at Hertha, restored Monchengladbach to prominence, got Nice their best finish in decades, took Bayern to the final day in his first season.

Seems right for the circumstance. Just his so-so English that’s a bit of a negative.

It sickens me to my core, how many people want to jump on the human rights bandwagon.

(1). Don’t judge people on their history or there isn’t a Country on the Planet suitable to own a football club.

(2). Support and acclaim the steps they are taking in a very short time to overturn Centuries of tradition and religious law. A massive task.

(3). Applaud there recent moves to give women more freedom and acknowledge their true role in society in general and sport in particular.

(4). Thank our lucky stars they bought us out of our nightmare with Mike Ashley and not any one of the other 19 clubs they could have purchased.

(5). And finally, don’t buy coffee from Starbucks, don’t ever use Uber, don’t go to or support any Disney products, don’t put petrol in your car and don’t go on a Carnival Cruise, as our owners are also major investors in all of these companies and dozens more of everyday established brands.

I understand your point but we don’t get a say in who owns us, much like we didn’t with Mike Ashley, and you can’t tarnish a whole nation because they are culturally different to the west

well said. i have some real problems with it too.

People say how bad MA was…He’s no angel…but he’s never had a journalist killed.

So, I prefer Ashley as the owner of the club I support vs. the Saudi’s…even if he’s a complete idiot when it comes to running a club.

What price is your conscience? we’ve already heard from vast majority of supporters. 500 Billion in sovereign assets seems to be the number

What annoys me is some (most) of the people complaining didn’t care one bit when our government sold millions worth of weaponry to this regime. I didn’t see many complaining then. But now they’re getting political because their team is threatened and they might not get as many trophies.

Hypocrisy stinks and is rife in U.K.

Saudi sponsorship has helped prop up Man U for over 10 years
    Saudis own Sheffield Utd

As someone pointed on GBNews. All these reporters pointing fingers at us right now will be in their seats at the World Cup in Qatar, where nearly 1000 immigrant workers have died due to their inhumane working conditions, building those very stadia.

What bothers me is not one person mentions Bidens strike that killed a family and kids, then tried to claim they were the TV ban and legit targets.

Yet we’re up in arms at what Saudi do.

I don’t think we really have the right to tell others how to run their countries especially when our own country and its allies are as questionable as those we dare question.

You think Biden intentionally killed innocent people?

If you mistakenly kill someone, you dont necessarily go to jail, nor are you vilified. if so, a lot of motorists would be jailed, right?

intention is very very important .

not saying youre wrong…because ill probably continue supporting newcastle…i just have a deep problem with it

And can we, this small band of loyal Newcastle Supporters agree to put to bed the accusation that MBS was behind the killing of a journalist.

That’s like saying that everything that MI6, MI5 etc do is run past the Queen for approval.

He’s the Deputy Head of State of a massive Country of untold Wealth and he has far more important things to do than control the daily activities of his Secret Service.

There is and never has been any evidence to support this theory, only a politically led statement from the FBI that it was “likely” that he was involved despite not being able to gather any evidence of this.

    Bloody hell !!

You are in your right to feel that way about the Saudi state, just like it is for any one of us fans.

First and foremost for me it should always be about football and not politics and second, even tho you are right with points you make, why is it now up to us fans to find our moral compass? If this was the only country in the world to be guilty of such crimes I’d definitely agree with you but let’s be honest even our our country is guilty of taking as many life’s, just like many other countries with some of the atrocities around the world.

I’m sure the majority would agree that we don’t have to answer for any of them, we just care about the football club and being able to hope and dream again.

So many crooks in football as it is but nobody says a thing

If you look back into the recent past, America had some despicable ways and we were no saints when you look what we’ve done abroad. I think it’s unreasonable for the developed nations to project their newly aquired ideals on to less developed nations who are many many decades behind in their journey.

I haven’t read about the journalist being killed for presumably speaking out against the regime, but wouldn’t US kill Assange given half a chance? It wasn’t that long ago dissidents like Dr King, Lennon, Malcom X were being shot like flies. And that’s before you start adding up the 1000s of assasinations, coups, etc carried out on foreign soil. Of course, that’s all justified.
