Staveley Has Concluded 90 Minute Meeting With Players And Coaching Staff

Amanda Staveley has met with Newcastle’s coaching staff and playing squad at the training ground. Sky Sports’ Keith Downie is reporting the meeting lasted 90 minutes and Staveley has since left the ground.

This meeting served as an introduction to the players and coaching staff as they begin their preparations for the Spurs match on Sunday. It’s an important match as everyone involved with the club will want to get the new era started with a win at St. James’ Park.

It has been widely speculated that Bruce will not remain head coach much longer. George Caulkin reported earlier this morning that a decision on Bruce’s future is unlikely to become public today.

Staveley is very professional and will treat Bruce with respect and dignity. It would be a bit harsh to sack him right after a 90-minute introduction with the players and coaching staff.

The new owners are also playing catchup with their plans for the club. The sale happened abruptly last week after over a year of delays and legal wrangling. It wasn’t expected to be resolved until an arbitration hearing in January.

In addition to a new manager, the club is reportedly on the hunt for a chief executive and a sporting director. It could be that no decision is made on Bruce until those positions have been filled.

That still remains an unlikely scenario with most believing Bruce will be let go this week before the Spurs match. If that is the case, the new board are making sure it is done with class and respect.

Also this is a business, we need 3 points to help push us towards safety. I don’t for a second think our new owners will be thinking ‘Aw well Steve is only one game away from his 1000th, you know what let’s let him have it as a thank you. That’ll be nice for him. Who cares about whether we win or not!’.

This is business. We are owned by very smart and powerful business people. They won’t give a hoot if it’ll be nice for Bruce to be in charge Sunday. He’ll be gone, they’re most likely just getting things in place.

I’ve no doubt the Consortium want to see SB out as soon as possible, but I wouldn’t expect (or want) them to act without first getting a complete picture of how things fit together at the club. I completely agree with Neil that the timetable was shifted at the last minute and it would be reckless for them to act without a thorough investigation of all aspects of the club. There can be no doubt that SB is on his way out but there is always the possibility that he will still be there come Sunday. Don’t let that spoil the party. G*d knows we’ve waited long enough to see the back of Ashley and it would be a massive shame if anything interferes with the celebrations. The new owners have been patient and loyal to us and the cause…. now it’s time for us to show them that it was worth the wait. I am beyond ecstatic with recent developments at the club and I know they have the club’s interests at heart. For that they deserve our unwavering support. HOWAY THE LADS

So is Jones the new miracle worker now and Bruce the embodiment of the mess that Ashley left behind? And it’s time to forget that Jones also is very much among those responsible for our table position and leaky defence? Come on, boys! Time to grow up.

At the end of the day he is a nufc fan just like me and I’m sure he only wants the best for the club too

If he’s truly a Newcastle supporter then why did he end up as Sunderland manager? Of all the clubs to work for, that’s the one club that’s an absolute no-no. I couldn’t truly accept him as one of us after he did that. So no, I don’t think he’s a true ‘nufc fan’ at all.

Unused Sub, don’t think anyone has said Jones is a miracle worker.

But 95% agree that Bruce IS the embodiment of the mess that Ashley left behind.

For that reason he has to go ASAP.

Hearing Bruce told Amanda he is so committed to NUFC he bought the electric football inflater out of his own money and took one of the Wheelie Bins for the players ice bath from one of his houses he rents out.

Amanda is reporting back to his Excellence Yasir Al – Ramayyan, it is uncertain if this will sway the decision though

    Scythe, 100% agree. He is not a true fan of our club, listen to this bile that came out of his mouth;

“Managing Newcastle has never been my dream.

“This opportunity at Sunderland has everything I want – the infrastructure, the fanbase, an ambitious chairman and an ambitious new owner.

“I don’t need anything else – I have everything here. Everything you look for as a manager is here at Sunderland.”

No Jones isn’t a miracle worker. But getting rid of Bruce alone will lift the spirit and atmosphere around the stadium and potentially in the squad. Nobody is expecting or wanting Jones to be our next manager. Just a temporary stand in for a game or maybe 2 whilst they sort Bruce’s replacement out.

Bruce will bring the mood right down if he’s in the dugout Sunday.

Let Brucie stay until after the game on Sunday so he can get his 1000 game in.

Ooh that’ll be nice, folk can wave to Bwucie with their handkerchiefs after the final whistle.

Get him oot the door pronto.

I don’t think anyone disputes that he must go – and he will. The only question is when. If we believe in the new owners we must believe they will do what is best for the club. Give them a chance to catch their breath and do the right things at the right time. We’ve all waited so long for this day. Don’t let us spoil it. I say we rock the place on Sunday!

If Sunderland offered anyone of you 20 grand a week, you would all jump at it. And if you didn’t you would be a fool.

I don’t think it is fair holding it against a player such as Kamara that he said “No” to Mike Ashley’s NUFC as if it was a personal slight against the fans and the club.

By all accounts the club’s facilities are in dire shape and we all know Ashley’s reputation as an owner. Why would you hold it against a player saying “No” to that NUFC compared to possibly saying “yes” with the new owners?

Money is one thing, but these are professional footballers good enough that they will get the money somewhere. Now we are attractive beyond just the tremendous wealth. When you try to persuade a player to come to Newcastle you can actually talk about how great the city is, the great supporters, etc. and have that actually factor into the decision without the old ownership and lack of ambition overshadowing everything good.

It is an absolute priority that Bruce does not to face the press pre Spurs.

His bile ridden negativity and bigging up of the Team that due to their prominence in fighting our takeover before and after the event, will be nauseating in the extreme.

We are now the Richest club in the World and do not need Mr Bruce being the face of Newcastle for 1 x iota longer.

Jail, Sterling has never been a player I’ve liked so wouldn’t be too happy with him. Plus he would already be asking for mega wages. Would prefer Lingard who is supposedly on around £75k per week, compared to Sterling on something like £300k? But still a massive improvement on what we have.

The relegation dog fight is fight of fine margins. Can you just imagine if we let Bruce manage at the weekend, we lose…and we ended up being relgated by just a point?

We have too much to lose by letting him anywhere near the team at the weekend…his departure will lift the squad in such a way we might just win…if he’s in charge I think we lose or draw at best.

    Get shot!

If not why is he not gone now, or Friday morning.

There is no logic for him being there today.

I think she is classy enough to grant him one last game knowing it’s not going to change anything.

Just a quick post as iam still at work but on a break, fellow fans, no need to worry about Steve Bruce, i fully expect he will be gone this week before the next match, but these new owners are very profession people, the departure of Bruce will be done with a touch of class and thats how it should be done, as far the new manager coming in iam very confident they will make the correct choice, The main objective has been achieved in getting rid of the unmentionable previous owner and the regime, that was the icing on the cake, we are already in huge huge bonus territory, just enjoy the ride fellow fans, ok got to go folks. Catchy….

‘I think she is classy enough to grant him one last game knowing it’s not going to change anything.’

She is a strong business woman who has been following the club for a long time. We currently have no wins in 7 games and sit 19th. To say ‘not going to change anything’ is madness. We need wins starting from Sunday. The new owners will be aware of that. Class has absolutely nothing to do with it. This is business.

Big fan of Mehrdad early doors, he seems to be a great personality. Laughing and smiling, getting involved with everyone and seems like a good presence to have around. He’s been fairly vocal throughout the whole transfer saga and I think he genuinely get’s what the fans want. I think he’ll be an important figure in the ownership.

It’s been marvellous now for a few days seeing all the smiles and positivity from the New Owners.

It would be a travesty and a backward step to let Brucie stay on and allow his downtrodden negativity at the press conferences ruin the whole thing, he has to go.

Is there anyone more stupid in punditry than Danny Murphy by the way?

“Is there a manager out there more equipped that Bruce?”

“If Newcastle want someone new in charge they need to be able to do a better job than the current manager.”

Yes, there are plenty of managers better equipped that Bruce.

0 wins in 7 games? Yeah, you’re right Murphy it’ll be hard for anyone to come in and do better than that…
