Striker Back In Training As Newcastle Release Video Of Monday’s Session

Newcastle United have released a video of today’s training session on their YouTube channel. Both Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi attended the session after their introductory meeting with the players and coaching staff.

It’s very encouraging to see that a few of our injured stars were involved. Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, and Martin Dubravka were all spotted taking part in the training drills. Joe Willock seems to have shaken off his knock against Wolves and was also involved.

Wilson has missed our last four matches after starting the campaign with 2 goals in 3 matches. He suffered a thigh injury in the draw against Southampton prior to the first international break.

Dubravka has yet to feature this season after undergoing foot surgery in the summer. He returned to light duty a few weeks ago while Jamaal Lascelles has missed the last two matches with a thigh injury.

Jonjo Shelvey was not involved in the session as he has started tonight’s Premier League Cup tie against Birmingham for the U23s. The 29-year-old has been out with a calf injury and has not featured since our opening day defeat against West Ham.

Head coach Steve Bruce was not shown in either of the videos released by the club today amidst heavy speculation that his days on Tyneside are numbered. Sky Sports released footage of the 60-year-old leaving the ground after training. They are reporting that Bruce has met with Amanda Staveley today.

The Guardian is reporting that Bruce was close to being let go on Monday. However, Louise Taylor did not provide a reason why he wasn’t in her report.

However, she expects Newcastle to part ways with Bruce before Sunday’s match at St. James’ Park against Tottenham. The consortium is currently drafting a list of candidates which includes Lucien Favre, Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter, and Steven Gerrard.

Taylor’s report adds Belgium National team manager Roberto Martinez and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag to the growing list of candidates. Luke Edwards had reported earlier on Monday that the new owners were still compiling names and the list has yet to be finalized.

The next time you hear someone complain to our supporters about Newcastle United taken over by the consortium, mention this!

Absolutely no chance of KK coming back as manager but you would certainly think he would be back in some capacity,I hope! The great mans managerial days are over, you can’t be out the game as long as he has then come into the precarious position we are in,it would be folly.

Is Jane actually Alex Bruce ?

Can’t believe anyone else would think Bruce should remain after the job he’s done !

    Dougie

Hi Dougie lad, iam with you all the way about Kevin Keegan coming back as manager even for the short term, i personally think its just an emotional idea, he i believe is 70 now and has been out of the game a long time, but i agree he should be brought back to his spiritual home in some capacity as he would be a great assit to have in and around the club Dougie. I hope your keeping good Dougie mate.

ITUNDERASHELL. – liked that article, good one.

Particularly the comment that trade between Britain and Gulf Commerce Council (GCC) is currently £30Billion per year.

That’s £30,000,000,000 if you haven’t been watching, yet our measly £300M deal gets all the flak. 😆

Quite a few reports coming out that Bruce was thanked for keeping us up, and advised that consortium wants to go in another direction. We’ll not announce yet, so you can slip away without the press etc chasing you. – or words to that effect.

    Looks like announcement Tomorrow then!
