Jones Makes Three Changes In Our Predicted Team For Palace

This is the proverbial shot in the dark but here is my predicted team for Crystal Palace tomorrow. It has three changes from Spurs and is a slightly altered version of the 4-3-3 we’ve seen in the past few matches.

This formation is similar to the one used when Graeme Jones first joined last January against Everton. He could try to implement it once again as he has the players available to make it work – at least upfront.

Jones revealed during his press conference that he’s been drilling players tactically over the past three days. Here is what he said when asked about what changes he was considering:

“Obviously I’m not going to disclose shape or personnel. Over the last three days, all players have had the same experience tactically both on & off the ball. Whatever team I pick, they’ll all know their jobs.”

Miguel Almiron comes straight back into the team after missing last week due to fatigue from his exploits with Paraguay. He gets a rare go as an attacking midfielder/false nine with Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin as the two forwards.

Sean Longstaff, Joe Willock, and Isaac Hayden all keep their place in the midfield with Isaac in the deeper role. The back four has two changes with Jamal Lewis in for Matt Ritchie and Federico Fernandez in for Ciaran Clark.

Lewis has just 2 appearances this season with only a late cameo at Manchester United in the league. He may be a better fit than Ritchie at left-back and it’ll be interesting to see if Jones makes this switch.

Darlow retains his place in goal for the time being. Jones revealed that Martin Dubravka is getting close but tomorrow would be too early for him. He also stated there were no fresh injury concerns.

Dont think would be too bad a shout under a good DoF or even a number 2 for another manager. He brought on Mason Mount and other good young ones at Chelsea

Is that a bit of a dig by Jonesy at a certain someone! 🙂

So I take it he’s not going to follow his previous ‘gaffers’ example and email his team and tactics to Patrick! 🙂

WLT, it may not have been him, as we passed his car was stopped on at the roundabout, I just thought oh! That looks like Frank Lampard, it was a black sports car. But it definitely looked like him, I hope it wasn’t!

I imagine Lampard has been or will be interviewed. Don’t see any favouritism coming into it from the Reuben’s side though, as some suggest. This outfit are too professional to take into account ‘jobs for the boys’ considerations.

Don’t know what he could say to trump the likes of Favre.

“English manager for English club!” is about it.

Carltoon, quite a few have apparently been interviewed, so relax, it doesn`t mean he has got the job.
I don`t want Lampard either, though with a good DOF behind him he might be decent for us.

I just want confirmation of Favre’s presence over the next few days.

He gets in front of them, none of them can compete with his CV. Has all bases covered.

See yas all tomorrow for the match!

Rumours that the consortium are looking for someone with PL experience seems to have influenced the betting for Lampard.
Having PL experience does not guarantee success, and there are plenty of examples of men who have had no experience of PL football at all and done well, Keegan, Wenger, Klopp to name just a few.
Would love Favre but he seems to be thinking of calling it a day soon from what iv`e read. Shame

We won’t get any announcement until after Chelsea, if GJ wins one and draws the other I think he’s here for a while.

If he does, he’s put his line in the sand for Assistant Manager at least, and hearing him today I hope he is.
