Local Journalist Provides Update On Howe’s Backroom Team

Newcastle United have still not made an official announcement on Eddie Howe’s backroom team. Though the head coach did confirm last week that he had brought along Jason Tindall, Stephen Purches, Simon Weatherstone, and Dan Hodges.

Howe also confirmed that Graeme Jones would remain and join his backroom staff, most likely as a first-team coach. The Geordie had made it well-known that the owners had given him assurances he would remain at St. James’ Park.

Jones was appointed caretaker manager soon after Steve Bruce left by mutual consent. Bruce’s two other coaches, Stephen Clemence and Steve Agnew, remained on board to assist Jones for the three matches he was in charge of.

The Athletic is reporting that both Clemence and Agnew have now departed the club, which was always expected. Though both Ben Dawson, first-team development coach, and goalkeeping coach Simon Smith have been involved in training sessions during the international break.

Chris Waugh, in his report, states that Dawson is expected to be retained. The same could be the case for Smith as Howe has not brought in his own goalkeeping coach. We’ll probably get a full rundown of everybody’s role once the club makes its official announcement on Howe’s backroom team.

But he did talk sh!t about him Mund, he said he was doing a great job and that he really wanted what was best for the club. He couldn’t have talked any more shite about him if he tried.

I don’t even think he worked for the club when he said all that on SKY, wasn’t he involved in the foundation or something.

Jail – KK is a legend at the club for his first stint at the club but doesn’t mean that he’s the right man for an ambassador role. The likes of Ben Arfa, Asprilla and Robert were playing legends too.

    TDSarf,
Maybe not, he’d be up there though and the fans would like to see it. Guti, Tino and Nobby as our S American ambassadors, travelling to schools and giving shirts away would be good, get a world wide fan base.

Jail – you really are a zero or 10 kind of person aren’t you? I see things in a balanced way, so even if I see KK as a Newcastle legend who was manager during some amazing times for NUFC, I see the negatives of the manager and the man. And even though I see Ashley as a terrible owner of our club it doesn’t mean that some of his decisions weren’t good and sensible.

The difference is keeping hold of the hate or not.

Do we let it bring us down daily? Or accept the inevitable however it is and hope for better?

Jail – well I’m a fan and I’m definitely not convinced that KK is the right man to be ambassador for our club. I prefer the likes of Shearer, Shola and Harper. Solano I can get behind too but I don’t see why the likes of Jonas or Tino would be good choices or why they would want to be visiting schools in South America and handing our Toon shirts. I imagine millionaire ex-players have better things to do generally…

Mund – I always try to look at the positives of situations I can’t change. If I can change it, I prefer to actually do something about it rather than just moan on a daily basis. I think there are some people (generally – not just referring to on this blog) who like to be constantly complaining about things. It’s almost like they prefer to be miserable.

Yes, the media have got their teeth into a good story, but they are way off the mark!
Firstly, I think the recruitment went really well when you compare with Spurs over the last few years! Plus Man Utd are stuck with OGS.
I think Eddie Howe is perfect for us and can grow with the club; he is definitely the right man for this season!
Regarding Gerrard, we all know where he’s heading and we don’t want to be a convenient stepping stone to Liverpool.
Our manager should be here because he genuinely wants to be and that’s Eddie and his team.
This lad is going places…..with Newcastle United football club!!!!
The media can write what they like but we are now too rich to be pushed around!
    Howay the Lads!

Do the press care about any other teams manager recruitment, who got interviewed, who got turned down, maybe they do for a nano second, not weeks on, and Gerrard was he even approached, and who even cares, they’re making up stories on a daily basis. Can they not leave us alone for a few days.

    Carl,
They use us to air their collective grievances as they know they’ll be easily backed up. They decided years ago that we’re ‘the’ goto ‘basketcase’ club.
I feel that’s gonna morph, or in the process…they just are fully sure how to frame it yet…deep sigh!

carltoon – the media DO care about what’s going on at other clubs if you’re trawling the bottom feeder journalists that some people quote on here. Most Toon fans won’t be reading the equivalent journos for Aston Villa or Norwich, we’ll just read the mainstream media stuff for those clubs. But some people like to read every single article related to NUFC so of course these bottom feeders are going to churn out crap to get clicks and get people talking about then. I just block many of them.

You’re right about the media’s lack of reporting on Qatar’s scant regard for human rights.

But and as Dubai M (I think) said, Qatar doesn’t take kindly to anyone that’s critical of it.

The World Cup’s coming up and it goes without saying that the medially want to be there. They’ll not criticise Qatar because they don’t want to be banned!

Jail – Tino is a party animal from what I understand. Just because he was an exciting player for us, doesn’t make him a decent role model for the club. Not sure what Jonas’ plans are but I’d be surprised if it includes handing our shirts at schools for the salary that job would pay. I don’t think these players love our club the way you think they do.

It is not so clear that Pep Guardiola will let Raheem Sterling out in January if he cannot sign a nineweight. And if Barça bid for him, as many say, they will have to fight with Newcastle and West Ham, who also want the English international striker

, a nine-weight is a good option for bass anglers who tend to fish big flies on open water in windy conditions. In other words, if you want to cut through the wind and cast big flies, look no further than a nine-weight fly rod—it’s a beast for just about any fish out there

    nineweight 😆
