Newcastle United have still not made an official announcement on Eddie Howe’s backroom team. Though the head coach did confirm last week that he had brought along Jason Tindall, Stephen Purches, Simon Weatherstone, and Dan Hodges.
Howe also confirmed that Graeme Jones would remain and join his backroom staff, most likely as a first-team coach. The Geordie had made it well-known that the owners had given him assurances he would remain at St. James’ Park.
Jones was appointed caretaker manager soon after Steve Bruce left by mutual consent. Bruce’s two other coaches, Stephen Clemence and Steve Agnew, remained on board to assist Jones for the three matches he was in charge of.
The Athletic is reporting that both Clemence and Agnew have now departed the club, which was always expected. Though both Ben Dawson, first-team development coach, and goalkeeping coach Simon Smith have been involved in training sessions during the international break.
Chris Waugh, in his report, states that Dawson is expected to be retained. The same could be the case for Smith as Howe has not brought in his own goalkeeping coach. We’ll probably get a full rundown of everybody’s role once the club makes its official announcement on Howe’s backroom team.

Comment #81Why not Tino? Don’t be so wet!
I’d love to see Tino grace the turf once more with the ground going wild.
In fact I’d love all the legends to return in some capacity or another.
Warren Barton for one who was unappreciated by a lot of fans but did so much work off the field for the club and for SBR. He is the perfect candidate. Same goes for Rob Lee etc

Comment #83Mund – I’d love to see Tino back as a “legend”, I just don’t think he’s a good candidate for a professional ambassador.
Barton is a good shout though, perhaps Lee too.

Comment #86You know you’re old when you go antique shopping and the crowd thinks you’re part of the inventory
These are only a few of the many, many funny 50th birthday jokes you can tell at your party to get a great laugh.
You will even have the 50-year-old laughing at them!
Could be a risk of a “laughter leak”

Comment #88I’m talking about international ambassadors to set up soccer schools in impoverished areas, not only does it give the local kids something it enhances your worldwide standing, it also gives you access to the world’s great young players. It is both charitable and beneficial.

A bloody sympathy campaign, he didn’t care about the club’s vision because he was desperate for the job he didn’t want six months previous, he didn’t give a foot how things were.

I’d like to think we’re working on it. They wouldn’t be doing the finance and logistics would they, they’d be the famous face showing up to train with the kids and raise the profile of the schools.

Comment #95Jail – I could definitely imagine that it’s in the plan but down the priority list a little. DoF, January signings, staying up, training ground and sponsors will all be higher up the list. But definitely expanding our global footprint will be very important. I’m just definitely not convinced that Tino is the right man for that job. Depends who wants to do it I suppose…

8 years ago, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy sitting on Leicester’s bench in the Championship.
They now have 292 Premier League goals between them, three golden boots, a Premier League title, FA Cup trophy & 91 England caps.
Incredible journey

Comment #117Some of you might want to stop spreading the muck that Ashley had any allies on this blog. I doubt there was a single person here who actually rated him as an owner, there were just some among us who chose not to whinge about it on a daily basis and just try to enjoy whatever we could about our football club.
Some of you are truly a case of “if you don’t 100% agree with me, then you’re my enemy” and it’s frankly weird.
