Lots Of Work Still To Do On Training Ground By Eddie Howe And Staff

There were both positives and negatives to take from yesterday’s game in the 3-3 home draw to Brentford.

But the biggest disappointment was that we couldn’t get our first win of the season, in what was our 12th league game of the season.

We cannot afford to be adrift at the bottom of the table and currently, we are rock bottom of the league, 2 points behind Norwich City.

it was a day during which Norwich got their second win in a row, and Aston Villa and Watford both had good home wins against Brighton and Manchester United respectively.

And news just breaking that Manchester United have finally sacked manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

If Leeds win today at Spurs, we could be 7 points from safety – so as we said – we cannot afford to get too far adrift this year before the January transfer window opens.

The owners seemed happy enough with the performance, as co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi tweeted this after the game.

One obvious area that Eddie Howe must concentrate on is the defense and picking the right players.

We still think our best two center-backs are Schar and Fernandez, and we’re not sure why Kieran Clark made the team yesterday on the left-hand side of a three-man backline.

Of course, Paul Dummett can play there when he’s fully fit, but once again the local lad has missed the start of a season with another hamstring injury.

It’s Arsenal away next week, and they looked woeful yesterday, in a 4-0 walloping at Liverpool.

They are a bit like Newcastle, good on the attack but woeful in defense, and Eddie Howe will be well aware of that.

They also have this terrible habit of passing the ball around in their own penalty box, and we are sure Eddie Howe will try to capitalize on that next Saturday.

Another defeat would not be good, but we have to remain upbeat.

And it’s possible we can get our first win at the Emirates in the early kickoff game next Saturday – 12:30 pm.

That would be terrific.

    Fenham 😆

After going nuts at the match and getting mashed about on the train home, i felt like id went 10 rounds with Tyson 😀

Awake and attention on the F1 now.

Was great meeting up with Cap, he is a top lad and look forward to doing it again in the near future. Had a good craic and that.

The atmosphere was the best I’ve felt in years and years mate it really was something to behold, crazy for a club bottom of the league eh.

Looking forward to Feb and meeting yourself pal, will be a great day. I’ll arrange to meet up with the Cap again and a few others off here as well.

Gutted with just a point yesterday, although when we went 3-2 down i thought we were gone,
Having spoke to quite a few fans after the game it seems it`s a 50 -50 split re relegation. Some Brentford fans were disappointed not to come away with 3 points, saying we were there for the taking.
It`s early days but i stand by what i said a few days ago, i think we will survive, just, but its going to be harder than some fans think.
Buying players in January does not guarantee survival but it does give us a better chance, IF we can bring in the players we need

There is no doubt we will bring in players but I don’t think they’ll be the ones we’ve all suggested for the last couple of months.

I don’t think some fans can actually see the point here. No matter who we bring in they will add quality and more importantly squad depth quality. We will 100% be able to bring in players that will improve the side as let’s be honest that’s not that difficult.

Lots of fans can’t see past the common names that are mentioned but there is plenty out there that will improve the side who some will probably won’t of ever heard of.

I’ve got absolutely no idea who we’ll sign, I do know it won’t be anyone on my wish list when the TO first happened. If it isn’t just poppycock about other clubs not selling to us then I think we could see Rob Holding in Black and White come January.

Just before I go, I appreciate it will be more difficult to get the players in we want if we are rooted to the bottom or even in the bottom 3. However, money talks and I’m pretty sure they will bring in the required players to save our season. But we need as many points on the board before January that’s for sure.

Yasir Al-Rumayyan’s appearance at St James’ Park yesterday means he has already attended more games than Sheikh Mansour in his 13 years at Man City.

Clear that PIF will be hands-on owners and don’t just want to pay the bills. #NUFC

As i left the Hotspur pub heading towards The Crows Nest in Haymarket, we were 3-2 down, me and my pal were saying that we wouldn`t be scoring a third so were resigned to yet another defeat, then we heard the ROAR , that was it , we were dancing in the street, absolutely fantastic feeling.
The arseholes that call us deluded need to take a step back, we don`t need trophies to love our club, unlike the prawn sandwich brigade at other clubs, no, all we want is a team that competes, never gives up, a team that never knows when it is beaten, i think we got that yesterday.

The last 5 managers at manuseless had win rates of over50%.
    “Ole Ole Ole” had 54%

And the sad ones in the press thought that Bruce wasn’t given enough love for less than 30 % ?

    Who’s deluded now ?

    WLtoon,
I know very little of players outside of the PL bar the ones I watched at the Euro’s, I don’t watch CL football at all. I wouldn’t even be able to suggest any names from abroad. Given that we haven’t won since being taken over has made me reassess what type of player we can get though. I don’t think we’ll be permanently signing any player from any country who has genuine realistic ambitions of playing in the next world cup. I think players that do have an eye on Qatar but aren’t for whatever reason getting game time would be tempted by our challenge, luckily we won’t baulk at the loan fees. Fringe players like Holding and Phillips who have a good bit of PL experience but not quite good enough for a club with CL aspirations we’d have to look at as permanent signings.

    Jail,

You make a couple of good points, i do think though we can attract a better calibre of player than Holding, i`m sure there are better players available who would be willing to join a project like this.
Our scouts will, or should be working overtime ready for the window in January.
Even though we are rock bottom i still think we could be ok come May.

Rob Holding isn’t ‘crap’ he’s just not good enough for a club with CL ambitions and that’s why Arsenal spent £50M on Ben White. We will obviously bring in quality from abroad but we also need PL experienced players, he’s just coming in to a good age and imo would improve our defence.
