Lots Of Work Still To Do On Training Ground By Eddie Howe And Staff

There were both positives and negatives to take from yesterday’s game in the 3-3 home draw to Brentford.

But the biggest disappointment was that we couldn’t get our first win of the season, in what was our 12th league game of the season.

We cannot afford to be adrift at the bottom of the table and currently, we are rock bottom of the league, 2 points behind Norwich City.

it was a day during which Norwich got their second win in a row, and Aston Villa and Watford both had good home wins against Brighton and Manchester United respectively.

And news just breaking that Manchester United have finally sacked manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

If Leeds win today at Spurs, we could be 7 points from safety – so as we said – we cannot afford to get too far adrift this year before the January transfer window opens.

The owners seemed happy enough with the performance, as co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi tweeted this after the game.

One obvious area that Eddie Howe must concentrate on is the defense and picking the right players.

We still think our best two center-backs are Schar and Fernandez, and we’re not sure why Kieran Clark made the team yesterday on the left-hand side of a three-man backline.

Of course, Paul Dummett can play there when he’s fully fit, but once again the local lad has missed the start of a season with another hamstring injury.

It’s Arsenal away next week, and they looked woeful yesterday, in a 4-0 walloping at Liverpool.

They are a bit like Newcastle, good on the attack but woeful in defense, and Eddie Howe will be well aware of that.

They also have this terrible habit of passing the ball around in their own penalty box, and we are sure Eddie Howe will try to capitalize on that next Saturday.

Another defeat would not be good, but we have to remain upbeat.

And it’s possible we can get our first win at the Emirates in the early kickoff game next Saturday – 12:30 pm.

That would be terrific.

In the near future Rob Holding would be very adequate bench cover.

Well IMO he is not good enough and definitely someone we should avoid.

Each to their own but god knows why you are saying Holding with so many better players out there who are achievable.

Ake plays for City who are title challengers but plenty on here and across social media that say they wouldn’t have him as they don’t rate him.

Players playing for any considered top side doesn’t say anything really

Who knows who we could end up with in Jan, Howe and his staff aren`t stupid, i think they will be targeting at least one CB.
Id go for Tarkowski, Burnley might take the bait saying as he will go for nowt in the summer.

    Mund,
Ake is an important part of Man City’s squad albeit a bit part, we won’t be signing him. Rob Holding is a realistic target who would improve our defence and imo would accept the possibility of playing in the championship if the worst happened.

Tbh nobody can say who we will or won’t sign as none of us know and what’s more important is we have no template to go off with the new owners as we haven’t had a transfer window with them in charge yet.

    It’s al opinions and guesswork

No chance will they be trying to sign players who will accept going down to the championship and will only sign players who will bring better quality to the team. The whole club from top to bottom will carry the belief that we will be ok and I believe we will.

    WLtoon,
Tarkowski is an England player of sorts, he will have his eyes on that world cup, imo he will not want to risk playing in the championship next season, he’s also out of contract in the summer and will be able to take his pick from upper mid table clubs that would keep him in Southgate’s thoughts.

Tarkowski would 100% come to us but no way will Burnley sell to someone they see as a rival. Never know tho as money talks more than anything, but can’t see that one myself

Oh no not F1 again. Some of you boys obviously did not fancy the Scalextric cars and race track link I put up the other day – right fair enough.

    Hows’ about this then ;-

Check out the toy shop Toys R Us for their race cars and race track toys in their “Fast Lane Racing Kit ” – should be fine.

The bonus on this idea is that when you visit the Toys R us shop you could also buy some toy dollies and prams as well.

    Jobs a goodun.

It’s all opinions and guess work Mund but you tell us with finality that they won’t sign players that would accept playing in the championship??
I tell you what though, if we’re only going after players that will not play in the championship then our permanent signing list is going to be threadbare. The reality is that has to be considered when signing players to a three or four year deal in January.

    Jail,

Tarkowski plays for a team threatened by relegation, same as us, wether he is on the fringes of the England team or not mate, i think he could join us, but i doubt they would sell him to us for any favours anyway.
I would test the waters with Burnley , and like we already know , he can walk away for nothing , 15M or nothing

Where’s the respect you demand from others, calling people Sherlock, if you can’t debate without being snidey maybe you shouldn’t bother. Banging on about being respectful to others all the time, you should get your own house in order first.

    WLtoon,
Yes, and he has a big get out of jail free card in the summer where he can join whoever he wants on transfer fee free wages. West Ham and Leicester would be very attractive to a player with his eyes on a world cup.

Yep, i agree with that, that`s if West Ham or Leicester want him, but if we do stay up i think he would join us over them, still playing PL football but with a bigger wedge.
