Howe On Nutrition – This Is Not Banned – At The Moment

We heard the story that when Aberdeen-born Ryan Fraser joined Bournemouth, Eddie Howe had to wean him off his favorite diet of ice cream and Pizza.

These days, the diet of footballers is really important: to get that extra bit of fitness out of the players, and clubs now have nutritionists on the staff.

Eddie Howe has brought his full team to Newcastle, including a nutritionist.

And he is determined to get the most out of his current squad before the January transfer window, when we hope we can bring in four (or even more) players who have Premier League experience.

And they have to be better than the players we already have – and at least two of them have to be back four players.

Defense is our big weakness, with the emphasis on big.

Eddie has talked today in the Chronicle about nutrition for his players.

They want to get the players as fit as possible, so we are not tired at the end of tough games, which was noticeable earlier this season.

This is some of what Eddie has said in the Chronicle today:

“I haven’t banned ketchup at the moment.”

“I will speak to our nutritionists to see if that’s something we need to do.”

“Biscuits aren’t flying around here, I can assure people of that.”

“There are things we have banned, our sports science team.”

“Historically there were some things I was not happy to see flying around the changing room, some foods thinking back I had to get involved but I don’t want to go into detail on that.”

Newcastle face Arsenal on Saturday in what will be a tough encounter but Howe already witnessed a response from his new team against Brentford.

“Whenever you are delivering something, your expectation is that people respond and look like they are enjoying their work.”

“Thankfully, the players have done that.”

“They have been excellent so far, and I can’t criticize anybody.”

We have to give credit to our players for working so hard in training under Eddie Howe, and wins should come sooner, rather than later.

We hope wins will come sooner, rather than later.

🙂

Eddie is trying to get the fans and the City behind the club and so far, he’s doing an excellent job at that.

He’s a truthful, down-to-earth guy, who only wants the very best for our great club.

We’re all for that!

    Mund,
I think it’s you that is getting confused, hospitality is in the Milburn suite, Magpie club etc a box is a different thing altogether and simply can’t be done at that price unless it’s somebodies private box. You’re on a public forum so I’m not sure you can say it’s nobody else’s business. I’m just saying to people be very wary of putting money in to a guys account that you’ve never met before and has had to provide photo ID before you’d hand over said money.

Jail…from a few posts back…you stay we didn’t have a bad defence back in the Keegan era…and you being a bit of a stato whereas I just rely on memory…how does our defence back then compare against whoever won the league back then (goals against) and whoever came third and forth.

From memory I know we scored a lot, and from memory I remember no more than half a dozen to a dozen clean sheets whereas no-one who wins the league ever conceded as many as we did back then.

We didn’t let in 4 very often, but we did let in 2 on plenty of occasions.

    Mund,
I said it’s none of my business whether he’s handed the money over, that’s a private transaction. You are asking people to pay money in to a random guy’s bank account on a public forum, a guy who claimed to have access to Matt Ritchie’s personal executive box and now hasn’t. Anybody is allowed to comment on that.

Priest walking up from behind me … saying something in Latin. And clogging the boy in front of me with a board rubber.

He translated. “the teacher hits the boy”. He was the moderate one lol

    sparky,
I think it’s because of the crucial games we lost that we gained that reputation, but we definitely had one of the best defences at the time. If you’ve got time, there’s an excellent feature on nufc.com that has all the results in ‘quick links’ it would be interesting to know how many times we did concede two, I can’t remember getting hammered much then.

The Raj does have a point mund. Think all he’s after is whether there is a box or its the hospitality suite. £150 per person for a seat in a box sounds too good to be true

Mund #21 all he said was the following, hardly an exclusive is it?

“And when asked to summarise the first six weeks at the club, Reuben was in positive mood.
“It has been excellent,” said Reuben.
“We are super excited about the future and what lies ahead.
“We are delighted with the support we have received from fans since we arrived at the football club.””

Lazy journalism that, and saying he spoke exclusively to NewcastleWorld is pushing it a bit.

    check,
I’m not after anything mate, I’d just hate to see people on here getting ripped off and something doesn’t sound right, you don’t need a third party to book hospitality in one of the suites and the one box the club do let out is 4K for 12 people, you don’t need to pay a third party to book either of them.

@21 – I love the way that article says “Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben has been speaking exclusively to NewcastleWorld” but when you actually read the article the writer obviously badgered him as he was visiting the foodbank and got a couple of stock phrase answers!
