This is the team I am predicting Eddie Howe will name for tomorrow’s match against Manchester City, should it proceed as Aston Villa against Burnley was postponed two hours before kickoff.
Howe rotated the squad in midweek making three changes from the Leicester City defeat. Callum Wilson, Miguel Almiron, and Joe Willock made way as Ryan Fraser, Jacob Murphy, and Isaac Hayden came into the team.
Tomorrow, I suspect Howe will continue to rotate while bringing a few of the players he rested back into the team. Callum Wilson will likely return after a cameo against The Reds. Joelinton played deeper on Thursday but may partner with Wilson up top at home.
Allan Saint-Maximin was withdrawn early and hobbled off the pitch on Thursday, so he could be rested as he has started every match this season. Jonjo Shelvey is another player who may be in need of a rest. If so, that would pave the way for Willock to come back into the team with Hayden keeping his place.
Miguel Almiron’s energy could be an asset tomorrow. So I see him coming back into the team with Fraser retaining his place as the left. As Newcastle were pegged back the entire evening, Fraser and Murphy didn’t get much of a chance to impress on Thursday.
Howe will be forced into at least one change with the injury to Jamal Lewis. Matt Ritchie came on for Lewis and will likely be the left-back tomorrow. With few other options in defense; Manquillo, Schar, and Lascelles will probably round out the back four once again.

Comment #3Ian Denis just posted this
“From my understanding there’s going to be the meeting with the various owners and chief executives. You’re then going to have meetings with the managers and there’s another meeting with the captains. I would imagine that would be regarding protocols, things like that.
The Premier League are insistent that they want the games to continue, and they’re looking at games on a game-by-game basis.”

Comment #7Looks like unless we can prove a lot of players are down with you know what, then Man City, Man U and Everton will want to play us, so there’s no chance we’ll get the games postponed on the basis it’s all or nothing.
The PL are playing it this way so everyone can play us before we’re strengthened.

I understand a good ribbing but I think taking the piss about my opinion that lives being lost through greed is poor taste.
Plus everyone keeps claiming to want this subject stopped, unless it’s aimed at me.

I’ve read most of Tom Sharpe, The Throwback set in Northumberland reminds me of OLG, a completely potty aristocratic eccentric.

Comment #12Using the standard logic on here only Doctors can understand medicine and only scientists can understand science.
None of you are footballers so I expect you’ll stop posting about football as its something you can’t possibly understand using your own logic.
Now can we leave it?

Comment #32Wouldn’t mind seeing us flood the midfield again but this time with Almiron up front instead of ASM also means Miggy will actually press their defence
Still think it’s pointless having Wilson chasing lost causes for 90 mins when we need him in more winnable games

Some of its filmed just up from North Shields ferry landing.
Saw them filming there earlier this year, can’t remember the name of the street and old Dock.
Just next to where they’ve built the swanky apartments.
Good to see you back posting.
