Newcastle Preparing Offer For Championship Star – Report

Newcastle have moved quickly with an opening bid for top target Kieran Trippier. The 31-year-old is reportedly keen on coming to Tyneside with Atletico manager Diego Simeone resigned to losing his star right-back should the player push for the move.

Trippier is in Atletico’s matchday squad against Rayo Vallecano this afternoon. Newcastle fans will be eager to learn if the England international is named in the starting eleven for the 3:15pm kickoff.

Trippier is not the only signing Newcastle are working on, though he is the most advanced and the only reported bid so far. There was a report last night in The Mirror that Newcastle have contacted Arsenal over a loan deal for exiled striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 32-year-old is currently away on international duty but could be available after testing Mikel Arteta’s patience early last month. This link seems remote at the moment and there are questions about whether Aubameyang would be a good fit at Newcastle.

The Mirror is also reporting that Newcastle are preparing a bid for Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz. In early December, a report emerged that Newcastle had been scouting the 22-year-old.

According to the latest report, Newcastle are preparing a £20m offer for the rising Championship star. He has filled the void at Ewood Park left by Adam Armstrong, who joined Southampton in the summer, by scoring an impressive 20 goals in 24 league appearances.

Brereton Diaz equaled Alan Shearer’s mark by becoming just the second Rover to score 20 goals before the turn of the year. He received the following message from the Toon legend on accomplishing that feat.

Brereton Diaz qualifies for the Chilean national team through his mother and made the switch earlier this year. He had previously represented England up to the U20 level. He’s gotten off to a decent start with 3 goals in his 9 caps for Chile.

His contract runs out in the summer, though Blackburn have an option to extend him for another year. They’re desperate to tie down the budding superstar but may have to cash in on him sooner rather than later.

Callum Wilson’s calf injury has placed an increased priority on adding a striker this month. There is no shortage of targets with Torino’s Andrea Belotti, Real Madrid’s Luke Jovic, Flamengo’s Gabriel Barbosa, and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele all being linked in the past few days.

This pending offer for Brereton Diaz may be a bit premature depending on how other targets pan out. Newcastle need a proven goalscorer in top-flight football this month. While Brereton Diaz is on the rise, the jump from the Championship to the Premier League is a very difficult one to make.

Lewis’s injury is not too serious, I’ve read, could be back for Watford.

Mitro is strong, holds it up well, hassles defenders and has a knack for scoring. But his work rate, pace and ‘team contribution’ is poor. He’s great if playing in a far superior team, but in even contests his negatives outweigh his positives for me.

For sure looks like Trippier is leaving. We must be strong favourite for his destination.

Liverpool and Chelsea play football from a different league to the Toon. We can only compete by playing 11 in the box. It will not always be like that. In a few years we will be their equal and a a year or two later we will give them a tonking

He did ok for Fulham one season though. He is not great but he does score goals when supplied chances. I prefer him than some unwanted and non english league experienced strikers. But some poster is right, Brereton Diaz might suit Howe’s game more.

Munster, I’m not ITK or even well informed, I get all my info from Mund!
But yes they’re the two I’ve heard, but it doesn’t seem very solid with Chelsea. Man U apparently had interest in previous window.
From the general confidence, I would say it will 100% happen, but Athletico have no need to rush and could be trying to squeeze more money, so maybe not as quick as we’d hoped, ie yesterday.

Ha, ha, yes OP, had to chuckle at Lesh’s pathetic hit piece earlier. Biggest piece of disinformation in that article was “safe and effective”.

Watched Bobafet, if that’s how you spell it, yesterday, episode 1 anyway.
Enjoyed it, as it was an introduction style. Great world building cinematography etc, hopefully the story will be more engaging than mandalorian, which I enjoyed, visually stunning, but lacked in the story department for me

OP, yes, it’s shocking how otherwise intelligent people can be so blinded by the propoganda and display such an unwillingness to even investigate.
Facebook admitted in court that it’s ‘fact checkers’ are just opinion pieces, not even written by experts. And these are the first line of comfort for those that start to doubt. Sadly it’s usually enough.

    It’s scary tbh.

I went and looked at the Psychologist and the article in question including a video.

It was like watching someone translate what I’ve witnessed with my owns eyes and explaining it in a way I could understand.

Very disturbing behaviour from a lot of people.

OP, I don’t know if you’ve come across professor Norman Fenton, a stats man. He found some interesting anomalies in the UK data, showing spikes in unjib deaths at time of jib rollout. I’ll try and post a link to his video below, not sure if it will get past the filters.
