Newcastle Nearing Transfer Breakthrough As Top Target Reportedly On His Way – Report

There are multiple journalists now reporting that Kieran Trippier will become a Magpie in the next few days. The journalist who first reported of Newcastle’s interest in the right-back, Guillem Balage, has taken to Twitter with the following:

Balague is referencing a report in AS that Trippier will head to Newcastle today to complete a move believed to be for around £13m. The 31-year-old was not in training this morning and has reportedly said his goodbyes to his Atletico teammates.

Newcastle should have their first signing tied up over the next few days. The transfer is a massive boost for Eddie Howe and our new owners, who identified the right-back as a top target early on.

Trippier is leaving the defending La Liga champions and Champions League football for a relegation battle on Tyneside. His desire to return to England to be closer to his family as well as his close relationship with Howe were said to be strong factors in his decision.

Without any hiccups, Trippier should be a Magpie as early as tomorrow. That will give him plenty of time to integrate into the squad in time for the massive Watford match on January 15th.

Newcastle are also expected to announce that this weekend’s FA Cup tie against Cambridge United has been sold-out. We should see an absolutely rocking St. James’ Park on Saturday should this transfer finally go through.

Catchy, I simply sent you a pdf as you enjoy reading and are interested in Food.
Monopoly supply also has to be taken into account when looking at diet mainly in western societies as are all forms of energy consumption in my humble opinion.

So the first signing our new owners make us a world class defender who was in la liga team of the year last season. Anyone who didn’t know what ambition the new ownership has for the club and how they’ll try to go about their business, that should give you a good indicator.

Insigne was informed by his club that his new contract would be 3.5m euros,a drop of 0.5m.
His agent has only gone and got him a 5yr deal at Toronto FC for 10m Euros a year ffs!

Toronto will be following the well worn path of turning a large fortune into a small one. I see China football has exploded. It is just not a case of throwing money at it (although it helps) but throwing it with purpose

John tudor, we are only half way in. 19/38 games and need to make up a couple of points and a game against.

If this is the quality of signing, and we get 3-4 more…. I think we will end up mid table. ie. catch up 9 points

If the Trippier signing is a gauge to the ambition of our new owners then my god we are in for one hell of a ride.
I can`t believe we got him for 12M, that is ridiculous for one of the best full backs in the world, and in my view he is that.
Other top players may look at the Trippier deal and might be swayed to join us also thinking it could be a very exciting project.

Whoever is doing the negotiations for us at the moment, fair play! To get Trippier for anything under £20m upfront is superb business. Could you ever imagine Charnley negotiating that?!

    WL

That’s my hope, getting Trippier in could be very valuable in convincing unsure players/agents. We can point to him as a sign of ambition and how the team will continue to shape down the line.
