Here is Chris Wood’s press conference in full, which has been put out by nufcTV.
Chris will make his debut for Newcastle on Saturday afternoon at St. James’ Park against 4th bottom Watford.
And while we are hoping Newcastle can get a new center-back in to play in that game – time seems to be running out.

Comment #7My team for weekend would be:
______________________Dubs_________________________
Trippier______Schar____________Lascelles if fit___Manquillo
Murphy_______Shelvey_______Joelinton_______Ritchie
_____________Wood__________ASM
Trippier and Murphy will provide a lot of quality crosses on the wings and Murphy will help create space for Trips with his pace. Please no Ritchie at LB, but on the LW providing from that side for Wood, we’ve got maximum ammunition.
ASM playing off Wood, doing his thing and playing more advanced when Wood comes shorter for flicks and link up.
That team will do a lot of damage and get at least a couple of goals against a poor Watford.

Comment #10It will be interesting to see how Howe lines up on Saturday.
Will he have St Max playing directly off Wood, that would be my choice, if however he plays St Max out wide i think Howe had better drill into him to release the damn ball when Wood is making a run into the box, otherwise Wood will be wasted.
I am starting lose patience with St Max, his selfish attitude is starting to hinder a lot of our movement going forward, so , a change of attitude on Saturday could see us looking far more of a threat.

Yeah i did, and a very kind gesture it was, let hope he is as generous on the pitch on Saturday and actually gives Wood an opportunity to score instead of trying to do it all himself.

Comment #13This Diego Carlos looks like an absolute beast of a defender. Be surprised if he doesn’t end up going somewhere with a more immediate prospect of silverware, though.

Comment #21Have to say I’m not sure about Ekitike. As good on the ball and pacey as he is, he looks like he’d struggle with the physical challenge of the premier league unless he’s able to pack some serious beef on his bones sharpish.

Nufc are pushing hard on a few deals but time is running out to get them registered before 12pm Friday
Been told to expect 3 new faces in next week for Leeds game
Agents have made contact with Aleksandr Golovin
He’s making himself available and willing to come
Nufc are locked in talks with Hugo Ekitike
Personal terms aren’t a issue it’s all about payment method / add ons there pushing hard
Carlos deal in advanced talks it’s all about meeting the clubs valuation of the player
25,28,30m bids all rejected its at 33m now we are prepared to go to 42m tonight
This ones a shame as it would of been the easiest deal to complete player and club willing but player has an injury could be out of 2-3weeks but if the price is right it could still happen before of the of January – Monaco defender Benoît Badiashile
Two to look out for next week, we have the chance to sign ManU
Donny van de Beek on loan, scheduled meeting is Monday
Ramsey is out of isolation the weekend so is available to talk to interested clubs, Nufc one club in the frame leading the race.
This at the moment is a none goer RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara player and club way over pricing themselves
Lens have set a price of 25m for Burnley and Nufc for Seko Fofana

Comment #26Can’t see asm passing anytime soon…
Until he’s forced to contemplate where he’s going wrong, he ain’t changing.
A few ass splinters, having a think, join the game second half, set one up, score one…then no broken wing act.
Everybody happy.

Or maybe Wood threatening to pull his dreadlocks out if he doesn`t pass the ball on might do the trick.

Comment #32Considering Howe has been playing this hybrid 4-3-3 system of late I think we’ll see this team on Saturday:
Dubs
Trippier Schar Lascelles Lewis (if fully fit)
Longstaff Shelvey Joelinton
Fraser ASM
Wood
Billy Joelinton

Does anyone know if Lascelles if fit to play on saturday? Although i think Dummett is a good defender, i dont think he will be in the starting lineup on Saturday, he has been out a long time so i think it would be a huge risk playing him against Watford in such an important match, while he might be fit again, he certainly wont be match fit, if we are winning by a couple of goals he might come on with about 15 minutes to go though, just my opinion HWTL

Comment #36We should offer 35 M for Carlos and be done with it.
We have paid 25M for Wood so an extra 10M for a player of Carlos`s quality is chicken feed to this lot.

Comment #37This Agbonlahor character is determined to reach a new level of stupidity never before witnessed. He’s proper camped out in f@cktardom and he doesn’t seem to have any plans of leaving any time soon.
He must have experienced a lot of bloody noses and fat lips when he was at school. What a gobshite, quite astonishing 😆
