Newcastle have been linked with a move for Ludovic Blas of Nantes. This comes from a Daily Star exclusive by Jacques Talbot, who also writes for The Mirror and The Guardian among others.
According to Talbot, Newcastle have engaged in transfer talks for the 24-year-old Frenchman, though that may be jumping the gun a bit. Watford are also supposedly trying to bring the player in this month.
Blas is a versatile attacking threat from multiple areas of the pitch. He generally plays as either an inverted winger on the right or a second striker. This season he has been in decent form with 8 goals in his 20 appearances.
The former French U20 international joined Nantes in September of 2019. He has since made 87 appearances with an impressive 26 goals and 7 assists. Interestingly, he is represented by CAA Base, who also represent both Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood.
He previously played for Guingamp rising through their Academy to become their youngest player to appear and score in Ligue 1. He first made a name for himself in the U19 Euros in 2016 helping France to the title with 2 goals and 2 assists.
His performances as a youth prospect had him on the radar of Liverpool, AC Milan, and Lyon. Liverpool and AC Milan’s interest continued as recently as last year with Juventus also having an interest.
Blas is undoubtedly a talented player who can dazzle audiences with his skills. However, he runs hot and cold and has failed to fulfill his early promise as a potential full French international.
It remains to be seen if Newcastle are actually after Blas in this window. He is probably on head of recruitment Steve Nickson’s expansive list of players. However, whether he is a top target for January seems questionable.

Getting him back would be like a new signing and the team would benefit from him enormously.
I think Dummett has been the most consistent defender on the books for years, never gets skinned by any player, always has a 7 or 8 out of ten game.
I don`t think i have ever heard any Toon fan slate Dummett for playing poorly, i have heard plenty give him a MOTM .
If Dummett had of been an ever present this season we would be at least 4 points better off
No way would he of made the mistakes that Clark and Lascelles have made which have cost us goals against, and points.
