This is the team I am predicting Eddie Howe will name for Saturday’s match against Watford. It has four changes from the 1-0 defeat against Cambridge in the FA Cup.
New boy Chris Wood comes straight into the team to lead the line. He is accompanied by Allan Saint-Maximin and Ryan Fraser, who keep their places, in a front three. Jacob Murphy makes way for Wood despite playing well last weekend.
Joelinton continues in his new midfield role. He is again accompanied by Jonjo Shelvey. Joe Willock returns to the starting eleven after an underwhelming cameo against Cambridge. Sean Longstaff misses out after an ineffective performance last Saturday.
Kieran Trippier gets his second start after making his debut. Hopefully, he can get deliveries into the box that Wood can get on the end of. He was excellent down the right on Saturday.
Jamaal Lascelles returns to the starting eleven. The captain missed out in the FA Cup. Fabian Schar retains his place though Howe has limited options at center-back. The duo are probably his favored pairing until any new signings come in.
Paul Dummett makes his season debut at left-back. He made the bench last weekend. The 30-year-old won’t provide what Matt Ritchie does going forward but is a massive upgrade defensively. Dummy will hope to impress with Jamal Lewis getting close to returning.
I have Martin Dubravka in goal. Though I am not convinced he is available. The only goalkeeper featured in the recent training images is Mark Gillespie. If Martin is fit, he’ll get the start with Karl Darlow apparently still out.
