Details Of Asking Price For Attacker Reveal What Newcastle Have Faced In This Window

There are details emerging this morning on why Newcastle’s pursuit of Jesse Lingard took a sudden turn south. The Mail is reporting that Manchester United are asking for what would amount to in excess of £15m to allow the 29-year-old to leave on loan for the season’s final five months.

The report, by Chris Wheeler, is backing prior claims that interim manager Ralf Rangnick gave the move his blessing. However, discussions with the Man U hierarchy have proven infuriating with their inflated demands.

Newcastle were being asked to pay a substantial loan fee, a massive bonus should we survive, and all of Lingard’s £80-100k/week in wages. This just reeks of a fleecing by The Red Devils knowing Newcastle are in a desperate situation.

These are the types of excessive asking prices Newcastle have faced in this window. The owners are right to walk away as it sets a dangerous precedent moving forward. The glaring issue now becomes who can we add to ensure survival.

It is shaping up to be a frantic final stretch in this window. Newcastle need at least another center-back, a midfielder, and an attacker to increase their chances of ending this season outside the bottom three.

The comments here about how badly the other clubs are treating us are absolutely hilarious.
    Fans have very short memories.
They all seem to have forgotten that we did exactly the same to Liverpool, Spurs and Leicester with Carroll , Sissoko and Perez. Every one out rageously over priced way more ridiculous than what we paid for Wood.
You can’t blame a club for trying to get as much as possible for a player, especially when they know the buying club are loaded.
Obviously some fans are happy with this feeding their paranoia but to take it personally against the club is just plain daft.
