Newcastle Win Their Training Game Against Al-Ittihad By A Score Of 2-1

Newcastle United have wrapped up their training game at Al-Ittihad with a 2-1 victory. The match consisted of two 35-minute halves and was played behind closed doors at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.

Eddie Howe started the following lineup which was a mix of regulars and fringe players. Jeff Hendrick and Dwight Gayle got rare run-outs after not featuring much at all this season. Kieran Trippier wore the captain’s armband.

The goals were by Allan Saint-Maximin (9th minute) and substitute Ryan Fraser (57th minute). Newcastle used all substitutes other than Freddie Woodman. Ciaran Clark was handed a straight red card along with Al-Ittihad’s goalscorer Abderazak Hamdallah after a heated scuffle.

Thankfully, it looks like everyone involved came away unscathed which was the main priority. A full match report can be read on the club’s website here.

Newcastle continue to work on multiple deals as deadline day draws near. The hope is for at least three more signings through the door by Monday evening including Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes. Head of recruitment Steve Nickson has flown to Brazil to help complete all the formalities.

Fabrizio Romano is also reporting that Lyon have added Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso as a potential replacement for the 24-year-old. They are also in talks with Brest over their versatile midfielder Romain Faivre.

3rd the hairy princess and sorry repost but more apt thread
Not entirely sold on nketiah but he could progress along the lines of tammy Abraham….the Brighton lad is a no brainer relatively low outlay for a position we are crying out for who we know can do a job until we go again in the summer for our prime targets….. Also ciaran Clarke really must have shite for brains

Absolute numbskull liability now like…. Performed above his skill set under rafa but came back down to his level so hard he hit the next level down.

Hopefully that’s the last time that clark will play for us.

I’m starting to get a bit nervous about getting anymore players in though, it will be a massive disappointment if we don’t get a cb in after that being the main position we need strengthened.

Surely Nketiah is just a young Gayle. Awesome for the championship. If this is the quality of player we can get I think we are already down.

FFS man Clark. What a dafty. Getting sent off in a friendly in one of our owner’s home countries? If we sign a new CB then Clark needs shipping out asap.

Eddie Nketiah is a fantastic prospect, the mackems know all about him anarl, scoring a hat trick against them in the last round of the cup.
Would the Arse deal with us, maybe, but probably not.

After winning the league, the cups, the champs league for about 5 seasons with nufc on sm21 i decided before xmas to restart it as barca.
I kept an eye on the toon with a view to taking over when i got bored of barca which i have now done after 1 season and to easily winning everything, also eddie howe got sacked after finnishing 17th and only staying up by goal difference.
The game put steve bruce of all people as his replacement and the players howe had bought were chris wood, dan burns, eddie nketiah, bobbey decorvia reid, jefferson lerma and ivan toney..

With the 1st 3 of that list already seemingly newcastle bound, i do wonder if our head scout plays this game..
