Some news is coming through from Sky Sports on some details of the contract Bruno Guimaraes has signed with Newcastle United.
We are just awaiting the official announcement from both clubs (probably tomorrow) – but it’s definitely a done deal and a terrific signing which has been reported by multiple outlets.
Newcastle will pay €40M (£33.3M) in installments to Lyon over the length of Bruno’s contract, which is four and a half years and runs through June 2026.
An additional €4M will be paid to Newcastle if we stay up this season, and another €4M if Newcastle also stay up in the next season (that seems like money for jam if we actually stay up this season!).
And one big item – there is no relegation clause in Guimaraes’ Newcastle deal.
That shows you how much the young Brazilian seems committed to Newcastle and if he isn’t now, then he will be when he gets what will be an overwhelming welcome to the club from our fans.
Brazil plays Paraguay in World Cup qualifying next Tuesday, February 1st, and he will then fly to Newcastle to be formally introduced in person by the club.
His arrival in Newcastle will be extremely exciting, and then he will start training with the lads before he makes his debut on February 8th at home to Everton – 7:45pm kickoff.
It also seems like former Chelsea midfielder and manager Frank Manager may be the Everton manager.
We have 5 points from our last 3 games and we must go all out to win this game – wins will save us from relegation.
Comments welcome.

Comment #2Apparently Botman and his team were coming Back from Spain, mind i can’t confirm it, its only a twitter account saying this.
But if he’s coming back and not heading out there then, I suppose there is still a chance.

Comment #5We need to find out for sure if the are coming back or heading to Spain. That will almost certainly clear it up. I’m too lazy atm. Anyone know if their camp was last week or their week because they’re not back playing until the 6th feb

And sadly I thought Lingard was in the bag weeks ago but Manure seem to have blocked it

Comment #10Pretty amazing to get a player of this quality who is willing to sign with no relegation out clause. That’s a confident and committed player.

Comment #22All of Chelski buys etc have been loans from little mister ruskie. When he decides to leave, Chelski will simply fail to exist. No one is going to take on that level of debt. |Who knows? May even be next season

Comment #26We cant get Lingard and Dembele. Needs to be just one for the right side. We need at least one CB and 1 goalscorer as goals keep teams up. Without a goalscorer we wont win many games

Comment #27Hate Saturdays when there is no football. Then again, it’s great when the mackems get smashed 6:0 off a struggling League 1 team. Lol!! They really are the gift that keeps on given aren’t they bless them…
I was on my way back from Clapham Junction listening to Talkshite earlier and Micky gray was commentating at the Sunderland game. Where they were talking about Newcastle and Brighton knocking back NUFC for Burn. Gray chirped up with he (Burn) should stay at Brighton as they are a club going places hahaha hey Gray, you must have loved commentating on that game where mighty Bolton put 6 past your beloved Sunderland. When I seen the score I thought.KARMA for your choice of words. What a Prick!!!

Comment #28Juventus might want to loan out Kaio Jorge maybe we should get him instead of Nketiah or whatever from Arsenal. Surprised we didn’t go for Bentancur at that price. Going to be exciting couple of days now refreshing twitter. We need all bids going in tonight as if clubs delay we might not make deadline to sign them

Comment #29Defender wise my money is on Burn, one of the lesser targets mentioned like St Juste, maybe Carlos at a push. In that order of likelihood too.

Comment #30Need 2 CB, 2 CF, 1 RW, 1 LB, 1 DM. LB might be ok if Manquillo and Lewis can stay fit. For me priority is 2 CB, 2 CF and 1 DM.

These new owners aren’t messing about and we will be fighting for Europe places next season of that also sure

Comment #40I’d say for this window, we need at least one centre back (D.Carlos), 1 left back (Tagliafico/Rogerio), Guimaraes, 1 box-to-box midfielder (Ibrahima Sissoko), 1 playmaker (Ross Barkley/Syvlain Marveaux), 1 striker (Allasane Plea/Moussa Marega)
