Newcastle Agree On £25M Fee For Reims Wonder-Kid Hugo Ekitike

There’s good news in the Athletic today and from Sky Sports, that Reims have accepted Newcastle’s offer of around £25M plus add-ons (up to £8M) for the Reims talented young forward – Hugo Ekitike.

Newcastle have been linked with French wonderkid Hugo Ekitike for weeks now, and news from Sky Sports trusted journalist Keith Downie that the latest bid has been accepted.

The 19-year-old 6ft 2ins striker is considered one of the best young talents in French football, and he is the kind of gifted young player Newcastle should be signing.

To get him in this month is a huge bonus in terms of our survival in the Premier League..

He joined Reims back in 2009 and has played 22 times for the French club with 9 goals and 3 assists, after making his debut at just 17.

The 19-year-old would be Newcastle’s  6th signing of this window, as the rush to get him his medical at Newcastle is now underway.

Newcastle have signed Trippier, Wood, and Guimaraes with Dan Burn close to being announced, and Matt Targett having his medical on Tyneside on a loan through the end of the season.

Fasten your seat belts, we could even sign more players today!!

I have a sneaky feeling that Lampard’s Everton will snatch Lingard. Hope I am wrong.

    @Mund

Wich surprised me, cause it’s a shift in their traditionnal policy about selling players.

But it seem the new chairman is of a different breed.

Thanks for the insight mate. I do find it a strange one as like you say any other time it would be a very acceptable bid. Just gutted we couldn’t get that one over the line.

Was still hope this morning that Lingard to #nufc could happen, however Newcastle and #mufc a long way apart on valuation still, with time rapidly running out.Hourglass with flowing sand Looks increasingly like Ekitike, Burn and Targett will join Trippier, Wood and BrunoG. Let’s be honest… #whatawindow

Yeah that was my initial thought, will Weghorst get the service at Burnley? If he doesn’t then going by what the German Sky reporter was saying, I think he could get unhappy there relatively quickly. Has a questionable attitude when things aren’t going right according to him. Not sure that’s what you want when you’re bottom of the table…

Anyone else dislike Nigel de Jong? Ever since he broke HBA’s leg with a terrible tackle I can’t stand him.

Clint from earlier, I was kidding about the daughter’s middle name.

That would be mad naming a girl Bellamy. She’s delighted we stuck with Shearer.

With you there JP. I cannot stand the bloke. HBA was never the same after that assault. He became a more fearful player, which is not good for a skilled dribbler like him.

Recently read a book with a catchy title: “What the hell did I just read?”
This is how it started: “You want to hear a story? Well, buckle the fxxk up.”

So, when the official NUFC historian (some Cypriot dude, I forget his name) writes the NUFC upcoming story this is how he should start:

“You want to hear the NUFC story? Well, buckle the fxxk up.”

ekitikE … I think I got that the right way around, would only bought in this window to be on the pitch. First to replace CW than when CW fit as backup. Both strikers feeding of Wood knock downs

Broke hba’s leg, didn’t even get a free kick, the ref that day was disgraceful. Went up the other end while he lay in agony and scored. You could hear his leg pop.

I’ve decided to keep my white XC60 for another couple of years given the price of the new ones. I’ve decided to pimp it up instead, it’s in today getting a vinyl wrap, black roof, black stripes down the door insets and all the chrome made and wing mirrors gloss black. Basically a toon Volvo for deadline day 😀
