Howe Provides Update On Saint-Maximin Ahead Of Brighton Match

Eddie Howe has provided an update on Allan Saint-Maximin during this morning’s press conference. The winger is due to return to training today and, depending on how he fares, could be in contention for Saturday’s match against Brighton.

Here is Howe’s update per Newcastle’s Twitter account:

“Maxi hasn’t trained yet with us but we’re hoping he does today. We’ll have to make a decision based off how he looks and how his injury status is after the session.

“Other than that, we’re as we were pre-Brentford.”

Saint-Maximin has missed the previous two matches – a draw at West Ham and a win at Brentford – after taking a whack to his calf in the win over Aston Villa. He spent last week in Monaco with a specialist.

Before the Brentford match, Howe said Allan faced a late fitness test, which he didn’t pass. He faces one again though with him back in training today, his odds are a bit better that he can at least make the bench.

Howe may not want to rush the 24-year-old back with three away matches in a week on the horizon. Ryan Fraser was unplayable on the left against The Bees. His performance is deserving of an encore on his preferred flank.

Jacob Murphy also played well down his natural right-hand side after being a straight swap for Allan against West Ham. Allan’s return is not as critical with Ryan and Jacob getting the job done in his absence.

Tom – I said “Like you say, I’m happy to drop the topic too. It’s not that interesting to be honest…just is what it is.” in post #73.

    Tuff,

Did you see Dianne Abbot saying the Ruskies invading Croatia?

    Now there’s a gaff, a classic one!

And sleepy Joe saying ‘The Iranians’ instead of ‘The Ukranians’

    Epic blunders 😆

Toon fans bad – yes I did read those gaffes. Terrible really that with such an important subject that politicians get their briefs wrong. There is no excuse for it.

All creates an aura that they don’t know what they are talking about thus emboldening those who would wish us harm. No wonder that gangster Putin is acting the way he is.

Tom – I didn’t know that she did. To be honest, I don’t know enough about the disease to have an opinion on what that means for her and I certainly don’t know her specific diagnosis. My level of experience with that disease is from House…

Really hope Schar get’s his new contract. Even if he’s upgraded in the summer he’s a super back up squad player to have on the bench. Really shown that he’s still a top defender since Howe arrived and a big part of the new way we play. Playing out from the back calmly and being solid defensively.

Wor B – I know! Told you that it’s an unpopular opinion! I know it’s incredibly well made & acted, I just don’t enjoy films were the main characters are all bad guys. I just don’t care about them. If they all got killed in the first 5 minutes, then I’d say that’s a good thing getting rid of a bunch of murderers, thieves, blackmailers etc. I don’t care about the characters so I just can’t get into the film.

Onto 60’s and 70’s diets – nowt the matter with a prawn cocktail – I’ll be making some shortly – well the sauce that accompanies it.

Called a “rose marie” sauce – excellent to use as a dip or to make a prawn sarni.

Few variants of this sauce but an easy one is below;-

    TDS,

It was me that mentioned Huntington’s before wor tom went all google on it!

I know someone with it, and I’ve noticed over time he says more and more things that he wouldn’t/shouldn’t have said in the past.

As reported Amanda has Huntington’s if you weren’t aware.

Just thought it might have been relevant in my opinion.

Staveley has basically showed sympathy for RA, regardless of whether her intensions were football related or not, a woman in her position, representing the PIF, who in no uncertain terms are still linked with the Saudi Prince, needs to apologise or at least say her comments were misunderstood.
Knowing the objections the consortium had to face trying to buy the club, the outrage of MBS being linked to Nufc and the fact Saudi have been bombing Yemen and killing innocent people, they have, lets not bury our heads in the sand, it`s all the more important Amanda should of been totally aware of what she has said.
If laws are passed further down the line by the powers that be re football ownership then Nufc are not out of the woods by any stretch, maybe then , blinkered football supporters who seem to care not a jot of what is going on elsewhere, things far more important than our so called beautiful game, then, and only then, will they realise that burying your head in the sand has been an act of extreme ignorance.
That is my one and only post on the matter.

Bookies aren’t giving anything away, all three options are within a couple of points of 2/1.
    Win 19/10
    Draw 31/14 (most unlikely)
    Lose 9/5

I enjoy this blog, but the constant non-football, back and forth digging on each other sur is a drag. Additionally, the hypocrisy knows no bounds – folks virtue signaling in one post while spewing venom in another. I’m certainly far from perfect, but I’d suggest you all try loving each other more…
