Newcastle May Become Part Of An Exceptional And Inspiring Football Story

We all remember when we were watching the Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland, when top Danish player Christian Eriksen collapsed near the touchline.

It was said to be cardiac arrest rather than a heart attack – and that points to some irregularities of the heart, rather than diet-related problems.

That was last year on June 20th, and the player had to leave Inter-Milan after he was fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), because the Italian League prohibits the use of these devices.

This is what the ICD is supposed to do:

The Defibrillator responds to life-threatening rhythms of the heart and can shock to reset the heart-rate and prevent sudden cardiac arrest.

Eriksen was available to sign in January, and while Newcastle were said to be interested, Brentford FC was the club that has given the former Spurs player his big chance to return to the game, and he’s already played for Denmark on the International scene again.

Christian made his debut for Brentford against Newcastle no less on February 26th in the second half when he came on as a substitute, and he received applause from both sets of supporters and both sets of players.

It was an emotional moment.

There have been 5 games since the 2-0 Newcastle defeat at the Brentford Community Stadium, and the Bees have won four of those and lost one to Leicester City 2-1 – so 12 points from 5 games and Eriksen has looked excellent.

So it is still a bit of a surprise that Newcastle are now being heavily linked with signing Eriksen in the summer as a free agent, since his Brentford contract was for a short 6 months.

Since he seemed to have proved himself quickly in the Premier League, there will be a number of top clubs after him, but if Newcastle can sign Eriksen we will be some team next season, since Eriksen has proved he can score goals from almost anywhere.

Here’s hoping that happens, and of course, it will put Newcastle into the great and courageous story of Christian Eriksen making a fantastic comeback to top-flight football.

That’s after what looked like a tragedy when the player’s heart had stopped on the field, in that International game.

But Eriksen may also elect to stay at the Bees, since that was the club that showed confidence in the 30-year-old when he needed it most.

We shall see, but this lad is world-class, there is no doubt about that at all – just ask the Brentford fans!

Let us know what you think about Eriksen maybe joining Newcastle United this summer.

So pleased to see him back playing after what happened but I don’t see us signing him, I’m not saying I’d be unhappy with him I just don’t think it’ll happen

I think we’ll re-sign Mikel Merino, Abeid and Thauvin in the summer. Would love to see Santon back. 2 left backs are priority this summer.

I’d take Christian for a couple of years, I just don’t know if we could attract him up north. He may be settled in London area and wouldn’t be too happy to uproot his family.

A wonderful story and even if he doesn’t come here, I’d still wish the lad a lot of luck and a happy future.

    Very good question mate.

He knows a couple of other players with boxes as he was in another one the day I was in mine. I’ll message him and see what the craic is but I guess for now we just have to see what happens in the close season.

This will be the All New Newcastle United from here on out…why do we have to pick up others cast offs, Loan deals, shady deals, the press selling us duds, busted mavericks, moneyballing…

Maybe the penny will drop, eventually?

    Evening all,

Just caught up with the blog and it’s been a comedy show, the Tory Toff MP LMF from Brighton. When you read the posts you can here yourself speaking in a Boris Johnson churchilean type voice. Then it turns out that it could potentially be Little Davy WTF 😳

This blog is comedy good at times like you couldn’t make it up 😆

Then further on, I thought hold on is this Raj holding out an olive branch to Mund? Is this peace on the blog happening right now, or is Raj pissed again, or is this actually genuine? I was hoping it was an absolutely genuine olive branch tbh as the blog needs it…Then bang he (Raj) returns to type and slapped Mund straight across the face just like a bitch Raj is Why????? Come on man FFS what is wrong with this man. Am I the only person that see’s through this guys daily charade. It’s absolutely pathetic. Just stop it man FFS. Supposed to be a grown man.

Does anyone else think that Raj and Mund will move on from these daily arguments? No me neither. Raj enjoys it far too much and it’s become an addiction for him.

It’s so ironic isn’t it. We hate the other English teams at home, but if they’re all we have left in Europe then it’s a different story!
Well, that’s how I feel personally.
Wouldn’t be able to stretch that logic to Scumberland though under any circumstances.

Much prefer Atleti to ‘franco’s team’, but that is a massive let down.

He’s hardly a cast off…he was playing for spurs (a top club), left them for Inter Milan (another top team)…then suffered a heat attack in the Euros, recovered, not allowed to play in Italy so came back to London and has proven he’s still a top player.

    Hardly a cast off!

As for Kets, I have in the past had to represent a few folk who had been sectioned under the Mental Health Act. They have a right to appeal against their compulsory detention.
One such dear old lady I thought was doing extremely well in giving her evidence, then near the end, informed the Chairman that if she was lying, then the bible under her hand, upon which she had sworn her oath, would fly across the table and strike the Chairman between the eyes!
I had to submit my closing arguments, then quietly closed my file and smiled knowingly at the Chairman, anticipating full well the decision which was coming! 🙂 🙂
