Italian Journalist Claims Newcastle Are On The Trail Of 23-Year-Old Striker

Newcastle will try to land a top young striker this summer. There are a couple of high-profile targets who continue to enter the conversation in Benfica’s Darwin Nunez and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

However, it could take a miracle to rival our recent climb up the table to land either. If they become available, they would be in very high demand and cost a small fortune. Newcastle may have to move to other targets.

Sport Witness is citing a claim from Italy that Newcastle are tracking Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca, who was briefly linked in January. The 6’5″ Italian has matched Osimhen’s tally in Serie A with 13 goals, albeit with 9 more appearances.

According to Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, Newcastle and both Milan clubs are on Scamacca’s trail. Napoli also see the 23-year-old as a potential replacement should Osimhen leave this summer.

Before this season, Scamacca spent the majority of the last three years on loan with Cremonese, PEC Zwolle, Ascoli, and Genoa. He finished his loan spell in Genoa with 6 goals in his last 8 appearances.

This is his first serious run in the Sassuolo team, who he joined from PSV in 2017. Scamacca also has three caps for Italy, most recently this past March. One potential issue is that he signed a contract extension last month to 2026.

Venerato has his price tag at €40m which is very steep but likely half of what Osimhen would command. With Newcastle desperate to add options up front, Scamacca could be one to watch this summer.

Valencia’s GK had a mate. He was to blame for all of lfc goals second half. Then pulled off an absolute worldie.

So unlucky for Emery and his team that was an opportunity missed. Our new owners must have done a right big dollop of studying of Emery. But IMO it’s Wor Eddie all day long

Caught up earlier with the blog and we are mentioning so many names linked with us to sign. Or who we want or who they want personally. It’s amazing when you look at the names being mentioned. Unbelievable.

I would love to see Lingard sign for us, however if I had a straight choice between Paqueta or Lindard it most definitely be the former. But is there a possibility we can get both or do they play the same position? Personally I’d would have thoughts it’s one or the other and it’s nailed on Paqueta for me. Bruno needs to continue his bromance 😉

Paquera and lingard are both pretty fluid, from what I’ve seen. But, in different ways.
Both would really make our midfield a lot better. Plus a couple of strikers.
    I’d be well pleased.

    Read up on todays Blogage

Just is how much are we going to spend.

    Honestly I have no idea.

But do remember Staveley did say they were working very hard to bring on new sponsorship.

Corporate, match day and main sponsors.

Most teams earn 100m more than us. Every season.

    Its doable.

But the players have to be a good fit.

Expensive flops are unsustainable. (you need to be a massive club to write off tens of millions – we are probably a good decade off that)

    CF,

The summer is going to be a special summer just like the days of KK and SBR but better.

Eddie will be choosing players that fit his style and will not disrupt the harmony of the dressing room. F@ck your Bales, Ronaldo’s, Pogba’s, Richarlison’s, Neymar’s, I want up and coming talent who are hungry with a good attitude that Eddie can coach into huge world class talent, sprinkled with the odd Trippier for experience. That’s the way we need to go.

I think Ritchie will be off to Bournemouth now with them getting promotion.

They really wanted him back there in January but the club wouldn’t let him go just yet.

Be their first signing no doubt

Can’t wait to see it unfold in front of us.

If he goes, good luck to him.

    Mund,

I think your right that Ritchie will return to Bournemouth in the summer. On his return to SJP he would receive a huge welcome and he’d deserve it. Great professional that wears his heart on his sleeve.

I know the man is desperate to return to the South Coast. Shame as I’d liked to see the man back in a coaching position. He is the right type to coach IMO.

    CF,

You are of the same mind as me. Good man, it’s the best way to be so positive and bath in the good times that started on October 7th.

It will only get better and better and better. It’s when we finally win something is when we will properly take off. I’m convinced we will win something within 2-3 years. Not sure what it will be but definitely something. Next season will be a benchmark as to how soon it will actually be. The summer signings will take us onto another level and Eddie bless him will be pinching himself what type of player(s) falling into his lap.

Carltoon… me too 🙂 To bad movies often makes such a mess of it. But there are actually strategy games for those who are into that, which are pretty spot on. Such as crusader kings where you can actually start of as Hvitserk in England just after the invasion of the great heathen army. He is actually based in the North East when you start the game as far as I remember.
