Eddie Howe’s Spirited Message – Every Single Newcastle Player Has Played His Part This Season

Eddie Howe has proved himself a master at man-management this season, and his players will attest to that.

One example of his man-management is that even though Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden, and Jamal Lewis were left out of the 25-man squad in January, they have trained with the group and have been positive and supportive of the team.

But Howe knows he has to take amotion away from the tough decisions he has to make this summer and we can see a lot of the players who helped us get promotion in the 2-16-2017 season final;ly leave the club.

This is what Eddie Howe has said to reporters.

“It’s difficult to speak about individuals, but I’m sure, for some of my players, it may well be an emotional experience,”

“I’m very much in the mindset that we have to be very appreciative of everybody’s efforts to our success this season, in terms of the position we were in, to where we are now.”

“Everyone has played their part in that, whether they have participated on the pitch or not.”

“I look at Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden, and Jamal Lewis, who were not in the 25-man squad, but their attitude to that disappointment has been incredible.”

“They’re still training with the group and they’ve not been negative or disappointed for a moment.”

“It’s important that I highlight that because we haven’t achieved anything as individuals. It’s been the collective group that’s done it and full credit to everyone.”

“There are some difficult decisions to be made and, naturally, when you look at the numbers in the squad, we are top-heavy,”

“”We have a lot of players.”

Our game at home on Monday night against the Gunners – our final home game of the season – will be emotional and a celebration on a number of fronts.

Thanks from the fans for turning the season around this year so that we are safe in the Premier League.

And no doubt it will be goodbye to Newcastle for some of our players.

Those are likely to include Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden, Jamal Lewis, Dwight Gayle, Federico Fernandez, Matt Ritchie, Karl Darlow, Jeff Hendrick, and Freddie Woodman.

The current squad is too old so one thing that will happen this summer is to bring in younger players, but quality is what we need – not quantity – and we have to unload many players this summer.

Fans can enjoy Monday night and think about where we were at the end of last year, with 11 points from 19 games and in real danger of being relegated.

But in one of the great turnarounds ever in Premier League history, we have taken 32 points from this year’s 17 games to get to 43 points and safety.

Let’s hope the lads can finish the season in glory with two wins at home against the Gunners on Monday night and at Burnley on Sunday, May 22nd.

That would be a fitting end to what has turned out to be a phenomenal season for Newcastle fans – we have new rich ambitious owners, a new head coach – and a new team that plays on the front foot.

We are indeed blessed.

    Leao
    Diaby
    Dembele

    @Valle

Diaby out of that list 100% I think he’s got the work rate and pressing that you need to do well in England

Then I would get Rapinha to play on the other wing 🙂

LCBP… Oh yah, I forgot to add Rapinha to the list. In my defense the rumors about him only started yesterday :). I think I would go for Dembele (If his heart was in it) considering that it would leave more money for other signings with him being free.

    Dubai Micky,

For £80m, no thanks. Quality player no doubt, but a bit pricey. If Haaland is worth less than £60m to City then no other striker in world football is worth more than £40m tops.

(I realised that this is not true and Haaland’s release clause was insanely low).

    TDS on previous,

If the rate for sponsorship is comparable to other clubs and done transparently and at fair value there should be no issues so long as the proper disclosures to noted in the statutory accounts.

It’s only going to be an issue if Saudi Golf pay £100m when the rest of the shirt sponsors in the league are paying £20m.

I would also pass on Osimhen… He is join 9th for top scorers in Serie A and their chairman is constantly trying to put him in the show window for a uge payday, naming NUFC on more than one occasion. At some point he even claimed is value to be between 180 and 200 million euro.

    Clint,

It would be in the back of my mind without doubt. Deals like this knock the balance out a bit, as people are going to see it and think why would I pay £Xm for this striker when the current best striker in the world is deemed only worth £57m.

Clint… Yah, it does seem a bit fishy doesn’t it? And the amounts he is throwing out there seems to have no hold in reality. Just the fact that he talks about 200 million euro for a player that is 9th on the scoring charts in Serie A is insane.

    Clint,

I remember the Zidane deal to Real years ago blitzing the world record, and remaining in tact for years because it was seen as a one off for the best player in the world at that time.

Now it’s the norm, I suppose it’s like everything else. The player is worth whatever the buyer is prepared to pay. But Dortmund must be gutted about Haaland as they have effectively lost out on £150m from that transfer because of his release clause.

    Valle,

Doing a Dennis Wise he appears to be effective on either wing. He seems to be opposite to Maxi though, in that he cuts in from the right and stays wide on the left (although it was weeks ago I watched that YouTube video so could be wrong).

He’s a better player than Maxi though. More direct and clinical, and seems to have a better footballing brain.

    Ledge,

It’s inevitable then. Personally, I am just happy that we’ll get to see him in the Prem for a few years, he’s an absolutely incredible talent and the league will be better for having him in it. I just wish he was pulling on the black and white stripes and not turning out for City.

Early prediction – City walk the league next year and he breaks the league goals record.

They will take advantage of every opportunity to bring in revenue and I read somewhere yesterday that it was their intent to do that with the training ground.
