Newcastle were mired in the bottom three with just 5 points in the first 11 matches when Howe was appointed. He has guided Newcastle to safety aided by an incredible surge at the start of 2022.
Newcastle have a chance to match their highest points tally since the 2013/14 season with two wins in their final two matches. The rise since January, boosted by an excellent winter window, has been nothing short of astonishing.
Our Premier League fate was confirmed on Wednesday with Leeds falling to Chelsea. Newcastle will now try to finish this campaign by picking up results at home to Arsenal and at Burnley on the season’s final day.
Both matches are of significance at either end of the table. Arsenal hold a slim one point advantage over Tottenham for a Champions League place while Burnley are in a fight to remain in the division.
Eddie Howe, who won the Manager of the Month award for March, is up against some formidable competition in Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, and Crystal Palace’s Patrick Vieira.

Comment #17Dazzler….same here I think he is going to be brilliant.
He has it all really the complete striker.
I think City will run away with the League next year with him in the team.
Looking forward to seeing him in a more competitive league .

Comment #23I wonder what the appointment of Majed Al-Sorour, Chairman of Saudi golf, as one of our directors (he’s been pictured at the game before) will mean for us?
I’d suggest it’s less likely that we’ll be having Saudi Golf as a major sponsor now.

Comment #24We’re going to have to get some serious sponsorship deals, just to cover the cost of all the Directors.
I make it 4 now with a CEO and DOF still to come.
Big change from Shoestring Ashley.

Comment #25On the politics/religion thing, I’m sure that for quite a few years after Dr. Ed set up the blog, it had some blurb introducing the idea of the blog as a platform for fans worldwide to discuss all things Newcastle and he politely requested that those 2 issues not be discussed.
It’s gone now and so is my memory, so I hope I’m not making that up 😀

So Edwards coming and then Dan Ashworth following afterwards. If we’re not careful we may actually become a professional football club.

Comment #33How about Aramco on front of shirt for £40M per year, Saudi golf one one sleeve and Saudia Airlines on the other for £20M each per year.
£80M in the bank and just getting started.
Current upgraded training complex the PIF academy for £20M per year
New Training mega complex the “Vision” Academy for £50M per year
Aramco @St James Park Arena – £50M per year.
How am I doing? Are we there yet? 😀

Comment #34At least when Eddie let’s players go or tells them they are not part of his plans for next season they’ll be the first to know and he’ll do it in person. No text messages or bollix like that. He’s a man of integrity who considers all angles. Very rare in football.

I don’t think you would have posted the Edwards link without concrete and reliable sources and a green for go to release. Is Ashworth deal off or is he still coming to the party?
