Newcastle are now busy determining which players to bring in this summer.
And we are sure negotiations are going on for some of our top targets including Hugo Ekitike of Reims, Renan Lodi of Atlético Madrid, and Dean Henderson of Manchester United.
Newcastle are expected to bring in a goalkeeper, left-back, center-back, central midfielder, winger, and striker this summer.
And they will be top players and most will be younger players to bring down the average age of the Newcastle squad.
But, as we know, Newcastle have to also sell some players, who don’t have any future at Newcastle.
The players who seem almost certain to leave Newcastle in the summer are Karl Darlow, Jamaal Lewis, Ciaran Clark, Federico Fernandez, Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick, Matt Ritchie, and Dwight Gayle.
Darlow, Clark, Fernandez, Hayden, and Gayle have been great servants for us, and all but Fernandez were part of the squad that got us promoted from the Championship back in May 2017.
Eddie Howe will want the new players brought in quickly and with the Premier League kick-off weekend set for Saturday 6th August, it’s an early start because of the World Cup break starting in late November.
This season will see a break in the Premier League from 14th November through Boxing Day (December 26th) – that’s a break of 6 weeks and one day.
That’s a long time to not be playing because of the World Cup in Qatar taking place halfway through the European football season.
Maybe the Newcastle squad will go away for a week or so, before the lads are due back, to get some warm weather training in?
Anyway, back to the outgoing transfers, and it’s almost certain that those 7 players we mentioned – Karl Darlow, Jamaal Lewis, Ciaran Clark, Federico Fernandez, Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick, Matt Ritchie, and Dwight Gayle will be leaving the club this summer.
And the funds Eddie Howe can get for these players in the transfer window, will be added to the £60M the owners will put upfront for this summer’s transfer window.
What do you think?

Atlético Madrid would consider selling players such as Renan Lodi, among others, as long as there is an important offer and a substitute.

A very good YouTuber is dribbling a football along Hadrian’s wall and finishing through Newcastle to raise money for men’s mental health charities amongst others. He’s already asked to score a goal to finish at St James’ but they are re laying the pitch which is fair enough.
Im out of the country but I’ll be donating and thought I’d help spread the word even if just to give him a bit of a cheer and a Geordie welcome as he comes through the city.
Dream scenario potentially get a few players, if they aren’t on their well earned holidays, to dribble along side him for the last stretch.

Comment #12I see Brentford fans are also rightfully among those puzzled by Southgate’s selection.
No natural LBs in the squad and they have a good one in Rico Henry who has performed like Targett did here.
I assume we will see Tripps turning out at LB in at least one or two of the matches.
Southgate says there’s still opportunity to get in the squad, especially if players perform in that first 6 weeks of the new season, before the first int call-up.
Over to you Mr Wilson, though I suspect you could score 10 in that period and not be called up.

We can’t be doing with any more Dan Burn, Matt Targett, Chris Wood type signings.

If Tierney wasn’t so injury prone I don’t think there would be discussion but equally he probably would have moved on from Arsenal as he is often their best player when fit
That’s one of the things about Targett and it counts for something he rarely is injured you can kind of rely on him week in week out that means a lot especially in defence

Comment #27Yeah, but you can have a Footballer that plays in every game and puts in much better performances than Matt Targett. The bloke doesn’t have the pace and doesn’t get forward enough. Davide Santon and Jetro Willems were much better players.

Do you think this will scupper the Milan deal for Botman? I remember you saying Milan felt that Lille owed them from previously and it’s that kind of dealings I’d imagine will be scrutinised.

To be honest if we could I wouldn’t mind getting Bakker but equally I really want us to get Hickey as he is two footed and could basically be Trippier’s long term replacement at right back while also being a great left back ha ha
I just think the balance would be all wrong to have a really attacking wingback with ASM on his wing then all we would hear about is fans moaning cause we end up conceding goals because the wingback is out of position when we lose the ball……

I agree mate id be happy with Bakker as well and I hear Hickey is a target no matter who we bring in. Cover for right and left and like you say to be a long term replacement.
Whatever happens I have full faith in Eddie and his team to bring in what’s required.

No. Lille got a new brand direction, which already denounced the behaviors of the former one.
So i don’t think it could impact any new deal.
Well, anyway this summer, after that, will depend of the judicial outcome ( will take a lot of time as i said ), i’m not sure if th club could be sentenced or if it only concern the people involved on individual basis.
