Despite claims from France that Hugo Ekitike is stalling his proposed move to Newcastle, local reports remain somewhat more upbeat. In fact, there is an update from Sky Sports today that the transfer could be completed soon.
Keith Downie is reporting that personal terms are close to being agreed on. If that happens, the 19-year-old would then fly to Newcastle for a medical next week.
Personal terms are close to being agreed with Hugo Ekitike ahead of his proposed move to Newcastle, according to @skysports_sheth. If teems can be agreed it’s hoped he can travel to Tyneside for medical & to complete move next week. Ekitike currently having some time off #NUFC

It’s becoming unhealthy to put too much stock in any one report at the moment. That is the same with updates on Sven Botman. Both sagas have swung like a pendulum over the past few weeks.
The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has responded to this recent update. He doesn’t believe anything has fundamentally changed on either Ekitike or Botman. Though he does believe both players are keen to join.
It’s been close to being agreed for more than a week. It’s just about time it was actually done. The player is happy to come to #nufc. With Botman the problem, again, hasn’t been with the player, it’s been Lille raising the asking price
— Luke Edwards (@LukeEdwardsTele) June 17, 2022
Time will tell whether Ekitike or Botman will finally arrive at Newcastle. At this point, it may be best to wait until we get some stealthy photographs of the players arriving for medicals before getting too excited.

Comment #163Jail, you may portray him in that way which is your opinion. The lad is as passionate about our club as you are, whether he comes from Middlesbrough or Timbuktu. It matters not a jot.
In my opinion he isn’t and would bet a fair few on here agree with me.
Just because the lad gets aggressive sometimes in his frustration, doesn’t mean anything (if I had to put up with the shite he does on here regular, I would be the same).
Why when we ask the reasoning behind our opinions does it have to be so melodramatic, the blog is for opinions so can we just state them without this nonsense everyday.

Comment #164Sparky has called Wood a lot worse than shit but were was your faux outrage then….? In fact many more have said the same but they just slide away like farts in the wind.
Anything you ever get involved in with me is agenda driven. It’s sad and pathetic this vendetta you have. Do you not think others don’t see that…? You’d be surprised
For the sake of the blog and the people within it, let’s agree to ignore each other…?
I’ve said it countless times but you can’t help but fall back into this playground shite

No faux outrage. I have disagreed vehemently with sparky55 about Wood.
I don’t think you actually know what faux outrage actually means.

Comment #170I do know faux outrage from you and so does the blog. One person backed you with the Tom comment and everyone else backed Tom. That’s says everything.
Every time it goes right over your head and ofc it’s on purpose…
The point is you’ve blew what I say up not because of what I said but because it was me who was saying it.
So for the good of the blog

Comment #171This is what happens when there’s bugger all to discuss in the transfer front and no football to chew over – the blog either dies a death or becomes about vendettas and grudges haha
For that reason alone I cannot wait for actually transfer news and the new season to start.

The 21st century and its social media have seen an increased display of false or manufactured outrage, with power and prestige being hypocritically sought by professing concern for others, in a highly selective and temporary manner.

Pretending one is offended, insulted or generally affronted by something which they really are not. The faux outrage is usually expressed publicly because it is done in the service of an agenda. Those expressing faux outrage usually labor under the delusion that no one can see through them, but most can.

Comment #177Anyway, what do people make of the claims today that we were in discussions with Bazunu and a) weren’t willing to shell out £15m and b) couldn’t guarantee him the 1st team football he supposedly wanted.
It certainly changes the picture from when we thought we’d just missed a trick and I for one agree that we shouldn’t guarantee any player 1st team football, but £15m is a snip for the player he will turn out to be.

Comment #180Jail as I’ve stated to Ruddy, if you dislike Mund’s posts so much then skip right by them.
You are just as bad as him with your little goading posts, directed towards him and others you dislike. You’ve been at it for years and I wouldn’t be surprised if you took it upon yourself to be that way when you see blog traffic is low.
That is the last from me, I have a shift starting early tonight because of the good weather. Got people who rely on me if violence occurs to keep them safe and maintain order from drunken/drug addicts. I won’t be replying to anymore posts aimed at me, so enjoy the rest of your weekend everybody.

Two points
Brian Johnson – I don’t claim to know him at all – used to get back to Newcastle to visit his mother who lived in Shieldfield and when he was in town would meet up with his pals in the Queens Arms which was near his mother’s home.
So what? Nothing other than when he was in the pub with his mates, it was just that – no edge, no big mouth, no flashing the cash and no look who’s here. He was nowt more than a local lad enjoying a drink with his long-time pals.
Whereas….
And
I’m glad you mentioned Question Time (from Newcastle). In fairness, Fiona Bruce did say that the audience was made up of a lot of T*ry voters but why was that so?
With not an original thought in their heads and repeating the mantras they’d obviously been told to repeat by the local Tory branch, they came across as social misfits with social aspirations they’ll never achieve – an embarrassment to the area.
Anyway, enough of that from me

I’ve done it many times myself jump in and defend Mund, the thing is they keep relentlessly keep piling on, and the unfortunate thing is in all this rather than ignore Mund rises everytime. It will never end in a nutshell.
This blog like I commented the other day is the best there is. But there are a few that love and live of the daily kick offs. It’s best to let them crack on and stay out. However your post #148 absolutely on the button in everything you’ve said
Mund,

Targeting?
Check back and you’ll see I’ve had chats with a few about various things and can’t recollect any targeting or as you’d see it having someone I’m the crosshairs.
Can I suggest, again, that you try looking at the bigger picture.
