Price Remains An Issue In Search For A Wide Forward

Newcastle had identified Moussa Diaby as a priority target soon after the season ended in May. However, interest soon cooled after learning about Leverkusen’s valuation of their star winger.

The Sun is reporting that Newcastle were quoted £50m which forced them to quickly drop the subject. They have since been linked with alternatives such as Brighton’s Leandro Trossard, Watford’s Ismaila Sarr, and Leeds’ Jack Harrison.

Newcastle haven’t made an approach for another wide forward as the focus continues to be on Hugo Ekitike and Sven Botman. Those two sagas are heading into yet another pivotal week.

Ismaila Sarr underperformed this past season as Watford dropped back into the Championship. The Hornets still want around £30m for the Senegal international. There is little chance Newcastle will part with that much for the inconsistent winger.

Jack Harrison is an intriguing option as he has proven he can put the ball into the back of the net. However, The Athletic claims Leeds manager Jesse Marsch rates Harrison highly and will only consider bids too large to turn down.

Harrison has just two years left on his contract. A decent offer could put pressure on Leeds if the 25-year-old fancies a move to St. James’ Park. He would be a decent signing but only for a reasonable fee.

Leandro Trossard is entering the final year of his contract with Brighton. Both Manchester United and Arsenal have been linked with the Belgian. His contract situation should lessen his price tag but the competition will be stiff for his signature.

Moussa Diaby is a player who could be worth every bit of £50m. Newcastle have to work within a strict budget of around £80-100m. Hugo Ekitike and Sven Botman would take up a large chunk of that should they be signed.

A player like Diaby, who is now being courted by his former club PSG, is a rare talent that would instantly transform Newcastle. It could be worth signing just four players this summer if he is one of them – Matt Targett, Sven Botman, Hugo Ekitike, and Moussa Diaby.

There’s a good chance that we could get relegated next season if we don’t improve the squad. We need 19 new players.

    Cheers Mund

Next time she’s getting ahead of her self I’ll pass on the Mund mantra… be patient.

I’ll let you know how that works when I’m out of hospital.

Ticks are horrible thing and the potential for getting Lyme disease is high. Folks should make sure they have a bottle of surgical spirit handy. You do not just pull them off with tweezers as you run the risk of the biting parts being left in your skin -causing infection.
So a dab of surgical spirit gets them to release and they can be removed with tweezers (Swiss Army knife tweezers are the best).
Failing having surgical spirit drop some Fairy liquid (washing up liquid) over the tick -making sure it is completely covered -cuts off the air – it will then release it’s grip and you pick it off with the tweezers.

Nufc have been it touch with spurs now as they have shown a late interest in ekitiki and won’t stand in their way
We have been chasing the striker for 5 years but cannot get it over the line
While on the phone to levy Amanda mentioned we were also after botman and if spurs wanted to do a double deal nufc would pay their wages for the ist year
    What a star she is
Amanda also asked about c Erikson but she was told he had left spurs quite some time ago
But they were willing to let her have harry for 100 million she rang her husband immediately to broker the deal
But he couldn’t understand when Harry winks turned up for talks

Tyran, re Everton. One of the things a number we’re referring to is the fact that all clubs were allowed (without affecting their FFP) to declare additional losses for playing in Empty stadia during lockdown.

Everton (remarkably) have claimed to have lost twice as much as everyone else whose financials have been published. So, either their tickets cost twice that of all other clubs (unlikely) or they’ve used this to hide a big chunk of their other losses in order to remain within FFP guidelines.

Mund – that still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Seeing Bruno charging up the field- never slowing down – and then perfection of a diving header- into the net.
    Tremendous.

Same feeling you get if you’ve been away from Tyneside and you are approaching the Tyne on the train via the High Level Bridge just before stopping at the Central Station.

You have to twust them off in a certain direction, otherwise as mrT says.
If ya don’t get treated quick enough, your stuck with it.
Happened to a friend, he’s in a bad way because of it.

Tbf to Darlington fc the then council wouldn’t alliw them to use the stadium for gigs etc to bring extra cash in.
    Which helped to push under.
Reynolds was a mackem skank tho’.
Tried to change their colours from b&w to r&w and installed red seats.

Then the fa in their wisdom decide to drip them to the 9th tier(bottom) deeing as they had financial difficulties.
    That really helped.

I think the owners can “donate” limited amount to the club to counter the losses right?
