Nick Pope will be Eddie Howe’s second senior signing of the summer. An agreement has been reached with Burnley for around £10m with a medical scheduled for tomorrow according to Pete Graves with Sky Sports.
Understand medical is tomorrow ? #nufc

Newcastle seemed to have wrapped this deal up quickly. It was just one week ago that our interest in the 30-year-old surfaced. He’ll come in and immediately battle Martin Dubravka for the number one gloves.
The news on other pursuits is not as encouraging. An agreement has not been reached with Lille as they moved the goalposts late in the game increasing their asking price. Most local journalists believe the player is keen on the move.
One potential positive is AC Milan’s new budget will not be enough for the Serie A champions to continue their pursuit of the 22-year-old. Reports from Italy have placed their budget at around £40-50m plus player sales as Redbird Capital Partners complete their takeover.
PSG are in hot pursuit of Inter’s Milan Skriniar. Inter are lining up Torino’s Gleison Bremer as a replacement. So with any luck, Newcastle could be the only option for Lille to do business with as their owners get antsy about a lack of player sales.
A report from L’Equipe yesterday claimed Real Madrid were interested in Hugo Ekitike. That has since been refuted by multiple outlets. His representatives continue to stall the striker’s move to Newcastle.
Newcastle are waiting to complete paperworks with Burnley then Nick Pope deal will be announced, Eddie Howe wanted him and the deal is done. ???? #NUFC
More: Hugo Ekitike deal, still stalling on agent side after agreement with Reims. Real Madrid deny any interest in the player.

Bayern Munich reportedly have come into the equation should Robert Lewandowski move to Barcelona. Dortmund have reached an agreement to sign Sebastien Haller according to Romano so they appear to be out of the running.

Good morning to you, i’ve seen a few of the Irish lads on here make statement about how good Collins is from Burnley. I can’t say i’ve seen enough of him to have an opinion one way or the other! So i’ll trust your guys judgement that he’s a good talent 🙂 I think we seem to be set on going for Botman though as our young defensive signing, or the other names linked all seem to be from overseas too.
You guys who see him play for Ireland though seem to rate him highly, so wouldn’t complain if he ended up in our squad!

Adam if say for example we sold Lascelles then Nathan Collins would be a great replacement mate, he has serious talent and is only 21 HWTL

Comment #21I’m with Magic, Nathan Collins is a talent though is pretty young and raw so needs time to develop as a player. Still only 21 but been playing 1st team football since he was 18 at a relatively high level. He’d be one Burnley would be keen to hold onto I’m sure though.

Comment #23Matt Targett was a poor signing for £12m. We could’ve got Tagliafico, a much better player for only £3.4m. Bad business.

Good point regarding Collins needing 1st team football which he wouldn’t be guaranteed at Newcastle, not by a long shot with the likes of Schar and Burn in the squad but he’s definitely a talent and would improve the squad considerably and be a cheaper shout than Botman. With Burn and Schar both knocking about 30 years of age he would be in with a shout of 1st team football though!

Comment #27I’m not convinced that we’ll sign the right players to remain in the division. My prediction is that Eddie Howe will be sacked by October and we’ll get Mourinho in.

Comment #32Etikite’s agent holding the deal up?
If the lad really wanted to come he’d tell his agent to stop pishing around and get the deal done.
The price with has been long agreed and unless the agent rumour is bollix I would guess that we have been looking elsewhere for a while.

I would put Nathan Collins same bracket as McNeil, would only sign if they cost around Pope’s amount. Nathan Collins needs to work on his 1 on 1 though.
