Journalist States Pursuit Of Ekitike Is Not Over But Other Targets Now In Play

Luke Edwards has taken to Twitter in the wake of a report that Newcastle have moved on from Ekitike. Edwards believes there is still some lingering hope an agreement can be reached but for now, other options are being looked at.

The obstacle appears to be solely down to Ekitike’s agents. 90min’s Graeme Bailey reported this morning that the striker’s representatives are seeking excessive fees. He claimed Newcastle have walked away but are willing to return should they soften their demands.

There isn’t much more in these recent updates from Edwards’ report earlier in the week. The move has been stalled by Ekitike’s agents, who are looking to cash in on the transfer of their client. They’ve not have much success with Newcastle so they are shopping him around Europe.

Ekitike appears keen to make the jump to Tyneside. If nothing develops in the next few weeks from other clubs, it will put pressure on his agents to return to Newcastle and reach an agreement.

On a brighter note, here is a smiling Nick Pope arriving for his medical at Newcastle.

    Have you heard of tantric sex, as practiced by the Geordie legend that is Sting. We’ll he used to before he hit 70!
    Test match cricket is like tantric sex. Boils up, simmers and then falls away over the course of 5 days on a repeated basis, but then if you’re lucky finishes with a result in the final minutes of the 5th day. The perfect climax!

    Well, if someone did, i missed it. Anyway, really curious to know about styles of batting and the tactical aspects of it.

    Oh, and by the way, subsidiary question… is the batting order predefinite before the game, or are teams allowed to freely choose the order during the game?

    You can change the batting order throughout the whole innings.
    There is also the night watchman who is normally a poor batsman who comes in if a wicket falls near the end of days play so that a proper batsman doesn’t have to come in and risk his wicket.

    @Mund

    Was a great deal about him one year ago when he played for France for the first time, but he didn’t really confirmed after that.

    Quiet a polyvalent Midfield, box to box as you say in England.

    Didn’t see him much with Rome and he didn’t impress me with France, but sure, was only a handfull of games.

    Don’t see anyone mentioning Jeremy Doku anymore. Has he gone downhill or something? Thought he looked a brilliant prospect not too long ago.

    Wowzers
    “I’ll try and describe what happened as best I can. Henry Nicholls drills the ball firmly, it looks to be heading to the long-on boundary, but instead it ricochets off Daryl Mitchell’s bat at the non-striker’s end – who was trying to move out of the way – and straight into the hands of Alex Lees at mid-off!

    What a brilliant yet bonkers game cricket is”

    Sounds it 😳

    Surely of course. But from past dealing, Newcastle seems to focus a lot on Ligue 1.

    A good analysis of our goalkeepers.
    Not much to choose between them but Pope edges it.

    I don’t really know Ashworth’s role in scouting or if he bring in any of his scouts with him to increase the scope of Newcastle’s scouting network. I think Newcastle will line up some proven players as alternatives, like Dan Burn. I’m not suprise if Newcastle sign Pukki as last resort.

    @Romford mag

    So the rules anticipated such a case?

    0k, they say:

    33.1 Out Caught

    The striker is out Caught if a ball delivered by the bowler, not being a No ball, touches his/her bat without having previously been in contact with any fielder, and is subsequently held by a fielder as a fair catch, as described in 33.2 and 33.3, before it touches the ground.

    So if we just consider this, should not have been both of the batesmen eliminated?

    Apologies in advance for the long post, just caught up on a day and a half of blogging.

    I despair that equality is being hijacked by the woke brigade. People are no longer allowed an alternative opinion and risk being cancelled if they do. However calling out bad behaviour is not being “woke”.

    Mr Tuff you seemed to suggest that if a person doesn’t agree with your sense of humour then they don’t have one. That’s like saying if you don’t like Marmite then you don’t like food. That of course would be nonsense as taste in food is subjective. Same with humour, we all laugh at certain things that others don’t. As for banter, surely when it’s banter the other person laughs as well?

    Mund, yesterday you stated “Can’t be all righteous on one thing but not all”. Respectfully I disagree. I believe in free speech as a basic right. There is stuff posted on here that I disagree with or am uncomfortable with and that’s fine. With free speech folks can say what they like. However when (in my view) it becomes egregious then I will call it out regardless of who posted it.

    I love it when we talk football but don’t like the old feuds. I know nothing about them and frankly don’t care about them. IMO they should have been resolved by now. If it’s impossible to get on can we at least try to get along? The blog is a very pleasant place when that happens.

    To all those making the effort, thank you, it’s appreciated.
