Over the weekend, French journalist Loic Tanzi tweeted of Newcastle’s brewing interest in Bordeaux’s Sekou Mara. The young striker’s future with Les Girondins is uncertain after the club’s plunge into the third tier of French football.
Sport Witness has cited a report from Foot Mercato that Newcastle could enter a three-way battle with Leeds and Aston Villa for the talented 19-year-old. Though as of yet no official offer has been made.
Tanzi claimed Bordeaux would accept a bid of around £13m plus a sell-on clause for Mara despite inking him to a new three-year deal in March. Their financial situation could make a deal for the striker relatively straightforward.
The report from Foot Mercato claims Newcastle’s interest is ‘very concrete’ though there could be some hesitancy on the player’s part. That seems a bit strange considering Bordeaux’s dicey situation.
However, after the sage with Hugo Ekitike, Newcastle should make certain Mara would be eager to come to St. James’ Park. There is no time to waste if the youngster is lukewarm on Newcastle like his talented compatriot.
Another French forward also remains of interest. 90min is reporting The Magpies are still in the mix for PSG’s Arnaud Kalimuendo. The 20-year-old has been on the radar since April. A move to Leeds has seemingly stalled.
Kalimuendo has impressed new PSG boss Christophe Galtier, who now wants to take a longer look at the young striker. It is still a longshot that he’ll remain in Paris with their impressive array of forwards which now includes Ekitike.
Kalimunendo’s fee will most likely top the £20m though he has more experience than Mara having spent the past two seasons on loan with Lens. The France U21 international is also being tracked by Everton, Crystal Palace, and Brighton.

Just how it is. So there will always be people who call some things out but don’t call other things out. As we all perceive stuff differently. Otherwise we’d all be one hive mind and share the same views on absolutely everything.
I don’t think the alt is wrong as such, just think it’s painfully unfunny and a tad embarrassing. Like any alt made just to poke an individual or mock them.

‘Letting shit slide’ may not mean the same thing to everyone. Some will view it as not something to step in and say something about, as they see no wrong doing. Whereas others will. Just like I could think maybe you haven’t stepped up to condemn behaviour in the past. But it’s probably because you didn’t feel there was any wrongdoing so didn’t need to say anything. See what I mean?
Nobody can step up against everything and be righteous 24/7 as everyone will have different views on what is right and wrong. The only way would be for someone to condemn and say something about absolutely everything. Even then others wouldn’t agree, or call them woke and sensitive for doing so haha

He scored 7 goals last season in a team that barely crossed the half way line and finished bottom of their league.
He should be well suited to playing for Newcastle United.

Good visit when he asked has anybody been to a big club tour I said yes Newcastle.
He looked at myself if I didn’t know what I was talking about he will know.

Comment #21carltoon – I had a poem written about me by The Bard and I took it in good humour. It was taking the piss out of me and exaggerated several parts about my personality but it was just a poem taking the piss, it wasn’t an ongoing campaign of baiting, piss taking, and insults. To my knowledge, The Bard has never engaged in such things, just written the occasional poem.
I also totally disagree that Tom was repeatedly targeted or goaded. He was regularly spoiling for an argument and often led with insults or baiting to get started. The man was far from innocent on this blog.

Everyone has their own scales of what’s ok and what’s not I suppose. If people take the kids out of me and it’s funny, I don’t mind. If it’s unfunny it’s just boring and if I think it’s out of line at any point I’ll shout it down. But then others may think that what I shot down was actually fine and I’m being sensitive. As their scale of what’s ok is different to mine. Everyone’s will be different so it’ll always feel like a case of ‘picking and choosing’.

So we’ll always feel like some are in the wrong and others in the right. I don’t think there a anyway round that unless we all shared the same view on absolutely everything.

I’ve given up trying to discuss these topics with him. I once referred to him as like “genital warts”, well I don’t know if they are curable (not going to Google it!) but he’s like a disease that the doctors can’t cure. There’s no point in trying things to make it go away or change, because it won’t, you either have to learn to live with it or just hope that one day it will go away of its own accord.

I went to one next to the cathedral at the top of the hill. It was superb. By all accounts the tapas bars are still top quality.
