Are Newcastle Setting The Stage For German U21 International?

While Eddie Howe chases two Premier League proven forwards in Chelsea’s Timo Werner and Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet, the initial plan this summer was to add a young attacker to the ranks. Though Hugo Ekitike’s move to PSG threw those plans into disarray.

Names of other young forwards have periodically hit the radar. Though none have stuck for very long with current links to young forwards practically non-existent. Most reports are now claiming that interest in Chelsea’s Armando Broja has cooled.

Sport Witness has cited some claims from Germany that Dortmund’s Ansgar Knauff is drawing interest from The Magpies, who have reportedly already made initial contact for the 20-year-old.

Knauff is currently on a year-and-a-half-long loan with Frankfurt, so a move this summer looks unlikely. Frankfurt don’t have a purchase option on him, so Newcastle could be setting the stage for a future move.

Knauff is a German U21 international who is also eligible for Ghana through his father. He primarily played on the right during his half-season with Frankfurt last term. Though he has played as a center-forward or on the left in the past.

He impressed on loan at The Waldstadion scoring 3 goals and playing provider for two others in 19 appearances. The report states his value is less than ยฃ10m, though that seems a little low.

While Knauff is on loan with Frankfurt for the upcoming campaign, his future with Dortmund is uncertain. His contract expires in 2024 so he’ll be entering his final year when his loan ends. With Newcastle making contact, he could be one to watch in future windows.

If you had a PED Olympics and the natural Olympics, I think we’d find many of the current natural records would still be difficult to break, if you know what I mean….that’s a different subject altogether, though.

Great seeing Kelly rip her top off, good goal as well, similar to Bruno’s last season.

Tough game for the lasses but they kept going and just about deserved the win, mind you the German lasses were getting a tad tetchy towards the end.

And a goal scored by Toone! ๐Ÿ™‚

Whether you enjoy watching womens footy or not (personally I didn’t bother), it’s still a feel good factor for the country. And what an attendance figure!

You cant condone PEDโ€™s in any sport.
The Olympics clean and dirty question is madness. Really doesn’t warrant discussion.
A cheating Olympics, yeh great idea. You could maybe spike your opponents, trip em over and stuff as well. Imagine some of the women on unlimited testosterone. Marathon runners on speed.

Essex if I would have said Im glad the England player took her top off there would have been uproar on this blog.

I dont take the womens game seriously like Toastie said it only comes home if the mens team wins it and that would apply to world cup not euros. The womens team winning is equivalent of England u21s winning anyway. Just an opinion.

If we have been watching Frankfurt for Ndicka and Knauff get in Kostic!

I see that misogyny is still alive and kicking,on the blog…

Of course it isn’t the same as the mens game and never will be,in the same way as the U7’S and U9’S will never be.

How many of the knuckle draggers on here go to watch their sons or grandsons play?

I’m proud to say we have a lasses team in our little village, that is sponsored and well supported…

It’s good entertainment elite women’s football, the atmosphere, commitment, tactics etc. It’s quite open, and far from rubbish. Men’s football can often just be an overly fast, overly physical mess, or one team just stopping the other from playing, and so at times hard to enjoy. It’s excellent, in my opinion, and it won’t be long until the Newcastle women are competing at the highest level too, for us to also get a kick out of. I’m a big Sam Kerr fan, and also really really loved Ash Barty, just by the by, who probably would have been an equally great watch in association football if she’d wanted to be.

Having watched all the lionesses games in this tournament, Iโ€™d have to agree that it was the poorest in quality – from both teams. Pressure of the occasion, first time playing in front of a crowd that big ? Who knows ?
However, we won a game we so easily could have lost, so well done lionesses, youโ€™ve cheered up 87,000 in the stadium, plus some 20 million tv viewers. Not bad for an afternoonโ€™s work.

I must say the standard of womens football in the last 5 or 6 years has went through the roof, very very impressive indeed, and when they get fouled they don`t roll around like some of the men like their leg is broke, the men could learn a lot from womens football.
