Newcastle Release Eddie Howe Interview Ahead Of The New Campaign

Newcastle have released the following 8-minute interview with head coach Eddie Howe ahead of the season opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Howe has had a full pre-season to implement his footballing philosophy this summer. While it’s still a work in progress, the early signs are promising as witnessed in the pre-season friendlies against Atalanta and Athletic Club.

The transfer window is still open with Howe vowing to continue to work to strengthen his squad. The transfer tally so far stands at three with the quality additions of Nick Pope and Sven Botman along with the return of Matt Targett on a permanent basis.

Howe is now settled with his family on Tyneside after being away from them last season while he implemented a minor miracle in keeping the club in the Premier League. The new season is almost upon us and Newcastle United are just getting started.

    Dodger

I wouldn’t be surprised if Lascelles starts but any of our CB pairing should do the job
Iv really no idea who will start but as you say the rest of the team picks itself

Cornet would have been our best player if we would’ve signed him. We’ve missed out on another top class player yet again.

We haven’t really strengthened. Botman looks ok, but he might struggle in his first season. Pope was a good signing for the money, but Dubravka is number 1.

Targett was a poor signing at £15m. He’ll be exposed again this season.

Seems to me you are singing from the same hymn sheet as Kets!

Cornet off to spam, they don’t seem worried about ffp…. And presumably we weren’t interested or he was way down the list. Got to admit I’m a tad disappointed we haven’t got 1 in before Saturday would’ve given the crowd a rite lift but it is what it is. Still sure we will see 2 stellar signings before window shuts supplemented by 2 good loans…. Who they will be is anybody guess as we don’t seem to be going to hard for any of our public (supposed) targets…. Another bolt out of the blue like guimareche perhaps?

It’s not even the criticising of the players that gets to me. It’s the slagging off of Eddie Howe when he has worked absolute miracles since his time here…

I just can’t cope with that

If we would’ve signed him is the exact terminology as the poster formally known as kets, most normal folk would use phrases such as had we signed him, yet another tell kets come on up your game lad

I think just put in 3 defenders then 5 midfielders or 4 midfielders then strikers it will sort the formation out for you I think.

As I say I’m a tad disappointed but 2 permanent and 2 loans in just shy of a month…. No probs m8…. Remember January in the last week I think we brought in guimarche, burn and target…. I’m pretty sure ashworth has his dominoes set.

LB is not a position we need to worry about.

We have Targett, Dummett, Lewis and Trippier, plus young Bondswell looking well capable.

I’ll give it a shot don’t want a 4th defender taking an attackers shot. When I’ve tried putting subs on it only gives me limited options to swap I think..

Keep seeing it on here and In social media “go for Pacqueta he’s cheaper than Maddison”

How do we know that? Just wondering if there has been mention of a release clause?

We pulled Lyons pants down with Bruno and Pac is an attacking midfielder with their new owners it seems unlikely they would sell cheaply? 60 odd million could easil be

I wondered the same as there is no evidence to suggest Paqueta would be the cheaper alternative.

100% agree Bondswell wouldn’t need a squad place and Targett and Dumett is good enough

On football manager or whatever the foot it’s called maybe!

This is a new level for Kets, there’s just no slowing down in his progress to optimum stupidity 😆
