Newcastle Announce New Long-Term Deal For Eddie Howe

Eddie Howe has signed a new long-term contract less than nine months since his appointment in November. The length of the deal was not disclosed but his initial contract had another two years left to run.

Howe has had a transformational impact at Newcastle United along with our new ownership group. He led the club out of the mire to 11th in the table and the highest points total since 2014.

This is what Howe said about his new contract:

“It’s a great feeling to commit my future to this incredible club. I’m extremely proud to be the head coach of Newcastle United and have enjoyed every moment here.

“I’d like to take the opportunity to acknowledge my coaching team, the players, staff, and supporters. They make it a very special place to be every day.

“I’d also like to extend my gratitude to our owners and to Dan Ashworth. We are still at the start of our journey, but this is an exciting time to be a part of Newcastle United and I’m very excited about the future together.”

Howe was asked how happy he was during his press conference this morning. He didn’t let on that this new contract was set to be announced. In his answer, he expressed that Newcastle had everything he needed, and more, to reach his goals as a manager.

The journey is just beginning as Howe comes off his first pre-season on Tyneside, and since 2019 with Bournemouth. The building blocks are slowly being put in place with Eddie Howe the face of the resurgent Magpies.

Sporting director Dan Ashworth is one of the key components to driving this club forward. He added the following on getting Howe tied down long-term:

“I’m delighted Eddie has committed his long-term future to Newcastle United. He is an incredibly talented leader and has had a huge impact since being appointed in November.

“In the short period of time I have worked with him, I have seen how much of a diligent, detailed, hard-working coach and leader he is.

“This is great news for the club and I am looking forward to working with Eddie and our colleagues on our exciting journey ahead.”

    Geordie @ #35.

Could be good seeing Anderson and Willock coming on for last 20mins in place of Sean and Almiron.

Should be 2 up at that stage and the young uns can run them ragged at the end.

Exc: My information is that I’m told there is nothing in reports James Maddison is set to undergo talks with Leicester over a new contact.

Weird that Mund, I dreamt that we didn’t get Maddison last night and it was because he signed anew contract, but accepted a pay reduction to help the owners out!! 😆

    How deluded is that??

Nice of you to say, but I always get off to an awful start on the FPL every year and then finish strongly. Hoping this year I’ve learned enough to do a little better in the first month or two. Have to keep telling myself not to panic and use my chips too early, which is what I usually do 😀

Sorry I didn’t see your earlier comment.

I have only just arrived back home and, in case you haven’t been sorted, I have just sent an email off to NUFC Admin (Neil) asking him to resend the code for the H2H.

Probably too late in the day but you never know!

    Good luck.

    🙂
