Our Man Of The Match At Wolves Faces Late Fitness Test For Wednesday

Eddie Howe revealed this morning that Allan Saint-Maximin is a doubt for tomorrow’s trip to Anfield. The winger was withdrawn at Wolves after tweaking his hamstring late in the match.

Saint-Maximin blasted a volley from outside the area in the 90th minute to rescue a point at Molineux. Just moments later, he was forced off and now faces a late fitness test to feature at Anfield.

For his exploits, the 25-year-old has captured our pole as the Man of the Match. He collects almost 50% of the votes with Miguel Almiron and Joelinton rounding out the top three places.

If Allan can’t go tomorrow, Howe has a number of options at his disposal. Ryan Fraser came on in the second half on the left as Saint-Maximin pushed to the middle. Fraser had a positive impact in his first appearance since the opening weekend.

Howe could also hand Elliot Anderson his full Premier League debut. Anderson was excellent in his brief cameo at Molineux after playing the bulk of the Carabao Cup win at Tranmere a few days earlier.

On both occasions, the 19-year-old played in the midfield. Though he is an option on the left as he starred in the role on loan with Bristol Rovers for the second half of last season.

Mark Douglas reported yesterday that Anderson is due to a new contract. His current deal expires in 2024. The teenager’s rise and versatility could be one of the reasons Howe doesn’t anticipate any further signings this summer.

Be interesting to see what Sean casey and the Loaded lads say if we don’t get bodies in as they were getting quite pumped up

    Re-post missed the bus again!

Overall when you consider where we were at the end of December last year I have say I feel that the directors and Team Manager have done tremendously well. We can now look forward with hope of better things instead of hoping for 17th place or higher.

How many times were we taken to the final game(s) hoping we’d escape the drop eh?

So let’s all look forward to better times!

If Maxi is out Ryan May be a good fit, he needs to have a great game though.

Surprised if we sign anybody else. Eddie said as much today.
Loan deal is still possible. Babayoko or something similar is a name doing the rounds. Midfielder. He has been loaned out by Chelsea to all and sundry in Italy last few years. Get him in. I bet he’s better than a few of our midfielders

Could potentially be starting without Targett, Trips, Bruno, ASM, Shelvey, Krafth, Wilson & Isak. Hmmmm…let’s hope not all of them!

Our new owners have spent nigh on Ā£200 million in the 9 months or so they’ve been here !

I don’t “think” the fat lad spent anywhere near that in the 14 years he owned us !!

I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong ! šŸ˜‰

Eeeee well, it’s a good giggle on here sometimes with folks, a mixture of panic, paranoia and delusion, with a slight smudge of optimism in some corners.

A season of incremental improvement and development as a team, not whole sale change and the heavy bashing of a club wide reset button, although that seems to be what a lot of you wanted, or maybe even expected? Which, lets be honest now chaps, was never going to happen, this isn’t FIFA guys, it’s real life I’m afraid, ā€œSell himā€ ā€œGet ridā€ ā€œOotā€, all so much easier said than done when you have players tied to contracts, would you rather us look like a piece of scum club like Barcelona and be forcing players out, refusing payments and planting smear campaigns in newspapers? What a great look that would be to other players ey?

I’d say next summer will be the big one when it comes to seeing overall improvement to the squad and a hard push for top 6, but even then I still think you’ll see some of previous regime playing squad lingering about.

There’s always January, but if we’re doing ok, we may wait until next summer,
I’m happy with what we have, of course I would like more, but I’m sure it’s not that easy, as they know who their targets we’re, like sensible owners they were never going to just splurge on anybody and every one.

I would love to go to Anfield at full strength as I feel we would give them a stiff test. Not so keen with our big guns missing.

Looking forward to Friday after the window is shut. The Liverpool game will be over, with hopefully a decent result and performance, and we will just have to go with what we have, which isn’t too shabby. šŸ™‚
Wonder when we’ll get the first link to a player after Thursday and which player it will be.

With the early winter break for the world cup, the January window isn’t too far away in terms of games.

I’d love another versatile forward and midfield (holding and attacking), but as you say, we’re building gradually. It’s rare teams who buy a lot at one do well.

I’ve got to say, like many were linked with I’ve not seen much. YouTube highlights and the odd European game for most. It’s why I’m rarely upset if we ā€œmiss outā€ on a player

I always think you need to see a player over a period of at least 10 games to really judge. Anything shorter and you don’t get a good sample size to account for form, level of opposition, etc.

    Repost: Dubs

ā€œYou came from nowhereā€ That’s true. Playing for NUFC put him on the map. So much for loyalty. Can’t believe we let him go to manure for nothing. Should have stuck him with the reserves until the end of the season. Why do any favours for them?

Such a shame that we’re not able to field our strongest team tomorrow. Would have been a good test. But no doubt Eddie will be impressing upon the replacements the need to continue to take the game to the opposition and to not just accept a 3-0 defeat. I really hope the likes of Willock, Murphy, Longstaff and Fraser start and play well. There is no reason why coach Eddie can’t improve these players. Too many fans all too ready to destroy them. And hope Anderson gets more game time tomorrow. This boy knows where the goal is. Do not loan him out.

I don’t think either side owes the other a favour with Dubs. We bought him and laid him, he gave us some good performances. We don’t want him as first choice, he wants first choice. Good for everyone if he gets a move.

Also, we don’t want to be seen as difficult and making life hard for players. It would have an impact on people signing. If they know we hold grudges or force them to stay, they’d think twice about signing. Particularly knowing if we plan to keep growing, they might end up second fiddle after 2/3 seasons.

I reckon Barkley would be worth a punt, has looked good when he’s played.

A bit of EH magic and we could have another English international player.

Also he wouldn’t need a visa!

Can anyone help? I was hoping to stay in London with an old school friend for the away game against Fulham on October 1st. Although a Fulhsm fan he cannot obtain a ticket for me. This is a bugger as he invited me to celebrate his 72nd birthday. I have emailed the Nufc ticket office but their 3000 allocation will go to more deserving cases probably . Any help/advice would be appreciated !

Thats true…The only thing evident from youtube videos is how comfortable a player is in doing tricks šŸ™‚

Basically, most of us here are not football experts. We have not studied football like coaches do, or have access to financial information (Club accounts) or are part of a scouting network. All we do is give our opinion. Nothing is set in stone. We might change our mind soon enough and shouldnt have the pressure of defending an opinion to death.
