Newcastle Announce Local Lad’s Loan Move To Peterborough

Newcastle have announced that Kell Watts has joined Peterborough on loan until January. Watts is currently recovering from a knee injury but is expected to return in October.

This is the fifth loan spell of Kell’s burgeoning career. He’s had previous stints with Stevenage, Mansfield, Plymouth, and Wigan. Watts has plenty of experience in League One having spent the previous two campaigns there with the Pilgrims and the Latics.

Peterborough are trying to bounce back into the Championship after their relegation. Kell helped Wigan gain promotion last season so his experience will be a bonus at London Road.

Posh boss Grant McCann is thrilled to have Watts on board saying the following:

“I am delighted to get Kelland. He won the league with Wigan Athletic last season at this level.

“He is 6ft 4, strong in the air and comfortable on the ball, and is a left-sided center-back, so I am pleased we have managed to get it over the line.

“He has a really good pedigree and is an excellent defender.

“The only downside to it is that he is currently injured, it might take him three or four weeks to get back and available for selection, but we wanted to wait for him.

“We had other options that we were exploring, but he was top of the list and we were prepared to wait because of how good a player he is.”

Watts’s injury prevented him from impressing Eddie Howe this summer. He suffered the injury in mid-July and was forced to go under the knife soon after. He should get three months with Posh before his situation is re-evaluated at St. James’ Park in January.

I dont know where you are seeing the negativity tbh. I see mostly positive.

    Eye of the beholder?

People are disappointed we are not reaching for CL in one season, that is okay.

Let them be disappointed, they are fans who want everything, now, not tomorrow.

Caring and posting is positive, no matter what you say. (not spammers)

I don’t think there is much negativity. I’d say 90% or more seem very happy. People just like to discuss areas to keep improving as well.

If we only spoke about the players we have bought and not ones we want, there wouldn’t be too much to talk about between game days.

It just seems the majority of posts are moaning about other posters or moaning about what we didn’t do in the transfer window.

Not a very cheerful bunch to be honest, Twitter is more friendly.

If you can direct me to that positive part of twitter id be very grateful. Haha!

There is a lot of squabbling. It’s part of the reason I’ve been less active here over the last 3/4 years, but you get used to the characters and who winds up who.

I’m actually excited for the season ahead. I’d have liked more players and would have targeted other areas before a keeper and centre back, but I guess it all depends on who is available and for what price.

Moaning is what i see as questioning the decisions or lack of decisions being made. If you work or worked you dont blindly follow your leadership do you?

Questioning decisions for me is mandatory. It doesn’t mean we have a clue what the right answer is but we can certainly ask the question.

Some people ask dumb questions for sure but let them, it is their right.

Dont see it as moaning but engaging in the topic at hand, nufc.

We’ve had an unbelievable window and have given ourselves a great chance of achieving a top 4 position. This has to be the best squad of players we’ve have in 25-30 years. Great squad depth. Got decent cover in every position.

Definitely made the right call in getting rid of Fernandez and keep Lascelles and Dummett.

I thought Dubs needed to be replaced, easily beat at his neat post to often and always liable to drop a bollock.

I understand where you’re coming from at CB with Botman being left footed.

I’m not a fan of Scharr, another liable to drop a bollock that could cost you a red card or the game, gets a lotta love for his goals but he’s not the best defender.

Right wing right mid is where I think we need reinforcements the most.

Sure we all see it differently.

I’ll be happy with 8th … hoping for 6th but we have to remember our squad value even with guimares, botman and isak is about a third of less.than arse , spuds , bindippers, citeh , manure, Chelsea..even west ham I’d considerably higher … at the end of the day you get what you pay for … it takes time , people expecting top four are deluded albeit I’d love ot to happen.
It looks.like we’ve bought good characters as well as players so I’m over the moon with that

I get passing over the WUMS posts but when they clog the bog(Kets) it’s annoying. When it’s every other comment for a page or two it’s painfully wasting my time. The blog is much more enjoyable when they don’t post even if I don’t agree with everyone. And I’m over 70 so bringing the average up.

Agreed, like i said earlier, most of the top teams pay 30mil at least for every position.

not that you have to do that sometimes but we are nowhere near. we have made a damn good start though.

to be a top team you will probably replace more than half our team again.

maybe 2 big signings each summer (jan is mostly crap). thats a couple of years.. at least.

I call it moaning because there’s no reasoning behind most of what’s being said.

Can’t see many of these “questioning” posts having any constructive criticism in them at all.

Disappointed, underwhelming etc etc don’t sound questioning to me.

A lot seem to forget the players they completely right off now were back up last year and did well when called upon.

I’d be willing to be there was loads of negative comments on here yesterday when the team sheet was announced!

Yet those players did us all proud and still Longstaff get abuse.

i dont see any problem with moaning and abuse at players. Do you?

The players are in an amazing job and sometimes the fans dont think they are doing a good job. They may be right or wrong but i think as a fan it is your right to say so. As long as they dont go overboard of course.

I dont come on this blog to listen to people praising how well everybody did. that would not true and very boring.

It needs to be balanced, we have good days and bad days. I think it all works out tbh.

I generally think we havent played that well in the last year. picked up a lot of points and i am not sure how. I come on here to chat about it. Not just to say well done lads. They dont see it, so whats the point.

Yesterday for me, was one of the best performances i have seen in a long while. I dont care we lost, makes no difference. The plan was great, the execution was great, the effort was great. A bit of bad luck and quality cost us but we cant do anything about that yet,

I am going on…but it is not moaning. It is engaging. it cannot all be positive.

    Guess what
The top 6 places are filled by 5 of the dodgies. I’ll excuse City so 4 of them bar Chelsea who no doubt will get a helping hand from a ref or VAR somewhere nearby soon.

If you’ve got criticism of a player I see no problem with it, it’s how you express it.

I don’t see calling someone shit, useless or get rid as criticism, it’s more abuse.

Aimed at our own players by our own fans.

If you’re just going to type he’s shit, he’s crap, sell him, dump him blah blah, it’s not exactly insightful dialogue worthy of debate.

I like your point, it is not constructive at all when people say he is shit etc.

I think though, people are just being emotive. they are not really trying to make a discussion about it.

It is not that useful and you cant really have a conversation with the comments you are talking about.

I think this is the place for it though. People want a place to shout that, when things arent going well for them. It is better to share it with people who might care.

I see your point completely though. I dont think people really mean what they are saying though.

Having just watched most of tonight’s Leicester match, they have serious problems. I’ll be disappointed i9f we don’t take al 6 points off them this year. They looked like a group of schoolkids who had been told that the free laptops and doughnuts that the school had been giving them have been withdrawn due to “cuts”.
The Leicester project of trying to challenge the top six has failed and there are no longer the finances available to keep it going.
