Newcastle have announced that Kell Watts has joined Peterborough on loan until January. Watts is currently recovering from a knee injury but is expected to return in October.
Best of luck, Kell! ?

This is the fifth loan spell of Kell’s burgeoning career. He’s had previous stints with Stevenage, Mansfield, Plymouth, and Wigan. Watts has plenty of experience in League One having spent the previous two campaigns there with the Pilgrims and the Latics.
Peterborough are trying to bounce back into the Championship after their relegation. Kell helped Wigan gain promotion last season so his experience will be a bonus at London Road.
Posh boss Grant McCann is thrilled to have Watts on board saying the following:
“I am delighted to get Kelland. He won the league with Wigan Athletic last season at this level.
“He is 6ft 4, strong in the air and comfortable on the ball, and is a left-sided center-back, so I am pleased we have managed to get it over the line.
“He has a really good pedigree and is an excellent defender.
“The only downside to it is that he is currently injured, it might take him three or four weeks to get back and available for selection, but we wanted to wait for him.
“We had other options that we were exploring, but he was top of the list and we were prepared to wait because of how good a player he is.”
Watts’s injury prevented him from impressing Eddie Howe this summer. He suffered the injury in mid-July and was forced to go under the knife soon after. He should get three months with Posh before his situation is re-evaluated at St. James’ Park in January.

Comment #164Rio Ferdinand has just commented on us whilst discussing the Glazers, saying how we made our feelings known about the previous owner.
Shame he forgets his own feelings towards our plight and doesn’t feel the same towards his precious reds plight.
Hypocrisy at its best.

I genuinely believe they’ll have been trying and haven’t seen it as over, probably given up now (guessing) but I don’t doubt their commitment or effort.
If the right player was available we’ll have been all over it until.
If you’d told me 12 months ago what our squad would be today I’d have told you to stay of the booze.
I’m over the moon and can’t wait for every game no matter the opposition or side Eddie picks.

Me too matey.
I think no matter what happens pal we will blow our new to come sponsorships out the water. It’s inevitable that we will bring in big sponsorships across the board.
noon for one example with them being a sleeve sponsor and paying more than our main shirt sponsor, speaks volumes of what’s to come. The owners will take every opportunity to inject big profits into the club to help us grow as quick as possible to gain that No1 status in the country.

Comment #176This has been a very good transfer window and based on my expectations it’s really the minimum that I expected them to manage. That’s why I give it a 7/10. I said it before the window and I’m sticking to it, 4 out of 5 should have been the base target and they’ve hit that.
Still have to say that I thought they’d manage to get one more over the line today. They must have been trying so it will be disappointing if none get over the line. Maybe there’s an interest in Barkley even? Mentioned earlier but would be a bit of a long shot perhaps.

It’s ok being ultra objective in defending the 8 minutes of added time, and they should never have scored from there anyway. But I’m still waiting for proof that Isaks second goal was actually offside. If Liverpool had scored that goal at Anfield it would have been allowed.

Comment #184onmeedsun – I haven’t watched the analysis of that goal to be honest. Tried to watch the match at my local gym but they don’t have BT Sport.
For me, either it was onside or offside. I don’t believe for a minute that it was given offside but actually wasn’t though. That would be huge news if VAR disallowed a valid goal.

Thought a Champo club might have gone for him so he’s going to need to impress to get his career back on track. Good luck to the lad.

We did well but could have signed more. There was nothing to stop us signing more, except a caution re flying too close to the FFP candle, for now. There was a lot of hot sir spoken that this and a budget were not relevant. Nonsense. I also think the comments a month or so ago by Downie were justified. Ie one purchase and maybe a loan or two. We got the purchase. There was a budget, as there is for any business, and izaks cost probably blew the budget on Pedro. We did well in the window and I’m delighted with it overall. Izak is a serious player, wow.

Isak was on side because his toe was behind that off the Liverpool player
The position of his upper arms are not relevant according to the rules.
The VAR clerk didn’t know the rules and favoured Liverpool because he or she didn’t have the abulity to make the right call and didn’t want to be thought of as controversial.
VAR needs to have three staff and a majority decision system, otherwise inviduals can be got at and influenced and manipulated by media and as social media.

Comment #189And now the end is near
And so Newcastle face the final curtain
My Toon, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state Newcastle’s case of which I’m certain
I’ve lived a life that’s full
I’ve travelled each and every motorway
And more, much more than this
Eddie did it his way
Regrets Newcastle had a few
But then again too few to mention
Eddie did what he had to do
And saw it through without exemption
Eddie planned each chartered course
Each careful step along the by-way
And more, much more than this
Eddie did it his way
Yes, there were times
I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all
And I stood tall
And did it my way
I’ve loved, I’ve laughed, and cried
I’ve had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
“Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way”
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows Newcastle took the blows
Eddie did it his way
