This is the team I am predicting Eddie Howe will select for tomorrow’s match against Crystal Palace. It has three changes from the defeat at Liverpool.
Howe has a few late fitness tests with Allan Saint-Maximin and Bruno Guimaraes close to returning. It’s pure speculation but I suspect Bruno gets the call tomorrow while Allan is made available from the bench.
That means one of the midfield three from Wednesday will have to make way. Joe Willock has started every match this season so he may get a rest while Sean Longstaff retains his place after his encouraging display at Anfield.
Howe revealed on Wednesday that Fabian Schar had a few minor niggles and was being rested. So Fabian comes back in and partners Sven Botman giving Howe a refreshed center-back pairing.
The rest of the squad remains the same with Alexander Isak making his home debut. If needed, there should be firepower on the bench with Elliot Anderson, Chris Wood, Joe Willock, and hopefully Allan Saint-Maximin making the matchday squad.

Also 10mil may not be a lot to the owner but it’s considerable amount if you look at PSG’s profit and losses. PSG’s record profit for the last 10 years is 2018, which is only 40mil. It also then setback PSG next FFP ceiling by 10mil too? After all I think it’s quite a fair punisment.

Comment #4I am sure a few of those teams have breached the FFP before? They should be kicked out of the conpetition, fines Are not enough.

Fines will never be enough mate as clubs like will gladly accept that kind of punishment.
Points reduction and relegation should be the punishments. If that was the case I guarantee they would act more carefully as it could impact them harder than a 10M fine.

They have acted very carefully, PSG recorded two years of profit prior to the COVID years.

Comment #7Conspiracy theory time ……Eddie saw Bruno maxi and wilson were carrying knocks so basically wrote off the Liverpool game resting botman schar, not risking maxi and Bruno ……so they’re nice and fresh to hump palace ……I think you can swap willock for Longstaff, maxi for Fraser who moves to the right and miggy is dropped. Should be more than enough to take care of Em.

Comment #10Some of you people just seem unable to look at things in terms of different shades. Every club tries to adhere to FFP but also to try to bend the rules a little to suit them. When the rule makers accuse the club of breaching FFP, the club will use lawyers and accountants to try to prove their case that they didn’t breach the rules or they only breached them in a minor way.
So the fines are low because the breaches were low. This is the way the world works in big business! It’s not a case of overstep the like by £1 and you’re kicked out of Europe because there are all sorts of intricacies involved here.
So the clubs listed will have tried to use the rules to their advantage. They didn’t ignore them, they just tried to bend the rules and see how much they could get away with. And you can bet anything you like that our owners will be doing exactly the same.

It’s not low if you look into the club’s profit and losses, not the owner’s wealth. Not to mention, I think the fines will be counted into the club’s yearly losses which will setback their next year FFP ceiling too. I feel it’s fair.

Look at the penalty’s handed out to the championship teams who fall foul of the footy league rules ……harsh ……in the case of these euro elites the fines are worth the breaches due to revenue etc it brings in ……look at Barca this year …..then look at chelski getting banned from transfers for a year or whatever. There will always be a way around ffp unless football introduced a draft system (no thanks) after all as you say the top lawyers work for those with the most money, the previously mentioned elite clubs, uefa aren’t really that arsed about it as it improves their product (at the min) and they’ll be wary of pushing to hard on the “super league” clubs. Ffp should just be a simple case of what the club and owners can afford …..Pif are basically being restricted in their ability to grow the business commercially and on the pitch. It’s a corrupt system from top to bottom designed to keep the fat pigs at the trough.

Comment #24You’d really hope all of Schar, Botman, Bruno and St Max start to give us some fresh legs and added quality. We did an immense amount of running midweek and that will almost certainly show toward the end of the Palace game. That high intensity press is a big part of our game, but it’s hard to sustain when you’re playing 3 games in a week at this level. We were dropping all over the place with cramp. Longstaff to start, even though he ran as much as anyone. He’s a fine athlete, not the finished article as a player, still learning his position, gaining in experience, but there 100% is a top half EPL footballer there.

Comment #25Penalties must surely depend on the degree of offences committed. Gross breaches result in being kicked out of European competition, lesser breaches result in fines. You can’t look at it as no breach = ok or breach = massive penalty because that’s not what the rules state.
It’s a bit like speeding. Go a few miles over the speed limit and you’ll probably get away with it as it’s within margin of error, go a little further and it’s a fine and 3 points, still further and you might end up in court and risk your licence being taken away for a while, go to extremes and you risk prison. It’s as simple (and as complicated) as that.

Comment #29Some other good points too. Just look at Everton. They gambled thinking they could beat FFP by being a top club and in Europe every other season or better, but they failed. Now they’re limited by FFP and in trouble. Similar for Leicester.
Saying that because FFP fines were relatively small means FFP doesn’t matter is like saying that because nobody went to prison for speeding yesterday that speed limits don’t matter either. Maybe yesterday, people were just a little more sensible driving to the speed limits…but a few that sneaked over the limit definitely got fines.

Our centrebacks seem comfortable playing with one another. Rest Schar again for niggles and risk of yellow cards. Burn rested had a good game against Livarpool, bring Botman back in, needs games to become acclimatised. Midfield same again, bring Bruno on for Willock if struggling. Front 3 picks itself.

Then it’s not under FFP jurisdiction if the owner find “creative ways” to generate funds. Like https://fantoken.com/psg/
But to say they are not hinder by FFP is wrong, they have been force to sell before they can get reinforcement in before.

I just think it’s a farce and the bigger clubs will use loop holes to get around it and even when it comes to breaking the rules it’s pittance and won’t effect them at all.
I agree some clubs will be more effected than others but that just strengthens my opinion even more that it’s for the bigger clubs not the less fortunate.
