VIDEO – Eddie Howe’s Press Conference For Crystal Palace – And Reflections On Transfer Window

Here is Eddie Howe’s press conference he gave earlier today for our home game against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

After taking only 3 points from the last 4 games, it’s important that we get back to our winning ways and keep close to the top six positions in the Premier League.

Howe also talks about the just completed summer transfer window and thinks that getting Matt Targett, Nick Pope, Sven Botman and Alexander Isak signed for under £120M is good business for Newcastle.

I think our MF done great against the so called mighty reds on Wednesday. Our MF don’t fear noone with Bruno or not. Big Joe pulls it together and if he replicates his beastly performance from Wednesday we will beat Palace MF without Bruno in the starting line up. We are so well drilled now it makes all the difference and I can only see Willock and Longy getting better asthenia season goes on. EH kept longy for a reason he can work with players build their confidence and Bang we have our player back, it’s called calm man management. It’s gets the best out of a player and can turn an average player into a good player, but not World Class, that’s got to already in you and special. Just like Bruno, he has that special talent which is why he is world class and the potential to be the MF GOAT if he continues. Lyon didn’t realise what they let go for 33m he will be worth 140m soon 🙂

Gerrard and Lampard are the final Nail in the coffin for people getting top jobs just because of their playing careers. From now on it will be managers like ‘that bloke who got Bournemouth relegated’ that people haven’t heard of. It makes sense as the skills needed to make a great footballer aren’t necessarily the ones needed to make a great manager. The TV pundits will just have to get used to the new way.

    Scorer,

Palace are half decent, have a cracking front 3, players that we wanted not so long ago, so they are no mugs, and i like the way Vierra has them playing.
It will be a good game of football and i think we will sneak it, i would feel far more confident with Bruno in there though.

WLToon – I mean that some people are so biased that they think we should definitely beat the likes of Palace due to them believing that we have a better squad yet also think we have a chance against City and Liverpool, despite their squad being miles better. If we can draw against City, then Palace can certainly draw against us.

We did have a chance for at least 2 points against both City & Liverpool so it’s disappointing to have got just 1. But, in the end, their superior squads made the difference. I’m not upset because it’s part of the journey but our benches didn’t allow us to bring on the players to maintain our level of play but those clubs have so much strength in depth.

WLtoon totally agree with your post @43 fella. Its gonna be a toughy, it will be a good contect that’s for sure. Asyou are right about the8r very dangerous front 3, I wonder if they will keep Burn of bring Botman back in? Burn had a fantastic game on Wednesday I thought he was a other beast. His positional sense and workmate is second to none and a hard Geordie lol. Saying that I think EH will bring Botman back in as he is more mobile and can play out from the back better which will be needed for Palace, you can’t do that as well with the scouse Scum. We will see but looking forward to the game so we can get what happened on Wednesday oot our systems. Bloody criminal it was pal.

Palace will be tough as our best will not be available and we might be knackered. 2. 1 or 1. 1 but we really need the win. The fatigue is more of a worry than the line up.

If Zaha manages to draw a bad tackle from Longstaff and Laschelles or Schär in front of our goal we could be in trouble. But Howe’s no Bruce; he must have prepped the lads as to how to bottle up Zaha.

We lost the game because the ref played two minutes too many but a goal was coming.
High press requires quality players and supreme fitness. Teams lose energy in the second half. Bringing on Wood and Murphy speaks for itself. Bad decision as it actually weakened a tired team. Basically I am saying the squad is not good enough
