Newcastle are six matches into the campaign and in decent shape in the league. The Magpies have suffered from numerous baffling refereeing decisions that have cost them some potentially critical points.
Newcastle are still primed for a run into the top half of the table currently positioned in 11th on 7 points. They’ve also been without some key stars over the past few hectic weeks in which the schedule was very congested.
One player has consistently risen to the occasion early in this campaign. That is goalkeeper Nick Pope. The 30-year-old was again in fine form in the 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace making some crucial saves.
Pope and his stingy defense picked up the third clean sheet of the season on Saturday. For his performance, Nick has topped another poll as Newcastle’s best player as he collected 30% of the votes.
The England international could be the league’s signings of the season if he can keep up his performances. If you take into consideration that he cost just £10m, his addition has to be one of the summer’s steals.
Joelinton and Kieran Trippier round out the top three with their performances. The pair have featured heavily over the past couple of weeks. They’ll be glad the schedule returns to one match a week until the latter half of October.

I wish I had that kind of bank down the back of my sofa 🙂
It’s still Rom’s fault (‘cos I know he’s lurking) 😀

Talking about District 9 mate. I was gutted there wasn’t a sequel but apparently there is one in the works all these years later! Hopefully it comes out.

Me too, totally ready for that.
Off the hook movie.
But, defo check his stuff on Oats Studio.
It’s pretty experimental, but you can tell it’s the same director.
Good stuff!

LOL, that reminds me of a video I saw on YouTube, basically one of these so called auditors / agitators got a fine and went to pay it in quarters.
He basically took a suitcase full of coins and dumped it on the desk at the police station – was funny as fook

We need Bruno back asap.
Murphy has 5 goals in 113 games.
No surprises there. The surprise?
He has a contract until 2027. Wtf
I would like to know Miggy and Frasers stats. They may be shocking

Certainly true that we need Bruno back ASAP.
Regarding contracts – once they are given, players can see them out. That’s just a fact of life – we have to live with it

Comment #58Well it’s plain that Murphy is going nowhere until 2027 as nobody is gong to pay him what he gets here. Maybe that’s why he looks like he does not give a flying….. when he plays.
Plenty of good buys but more than one contract extension which is stretching credibility. One player will not get a game but is good in the dressing room???? What’s that all about?

Comment #59What we need is Bruno, Isak, and ASM on the pitch together. Put some fear into the opposition. The fact that we haven’t seen it yet is the biggest disappointment of the season. More disappointing than VAR.

The first 11 has been changed, it’s going to take a little longer for the entire squad. I understand your frustration – but patience is required (BTW, I still respect your right to voice your frustrations)

Comment #61I think we’ll do well to get a point off West Ham. They have a bit more depth than we do. It’s disappointing to see Man U beginning to fire again, but I think they will finish ahead of us. No shame there. The two teams we need to pass are West Ham and Brighton and I think we will need another window to do that.
Agree with Dubai and Sparky, we needed to spend more in this window, if that sounds greedy. Pedro was a miss. We need to get him and Maddison in January if possible.

He’s happy to be a squad player (not even on the subs bench) and he cares deeply about the club and he’s probably good to have around the training ground….pretty good decision in my eyes 🙂

Dummet could still do all those things as a coach.
I could also do those things so I’m just bitter they chose him above me.
If he’s not keeping anyone out there’s no harm, maybe they think we need a 5th choice CB and a third choice LB. But if we get big injuries on the left I’d rather play Lewis or even Bondswell. I don’t think Dummet’s body can take it anymore. He reminds me of myself when I lasted tried to play.

Comment #66I agree on Dummet, he’s decent to have around the place for multiple reasons. If he’s not daft he’ll be taking this opportunity to do his badges and, Ritchie also. There’ll be room for these guys as coaches in the Academy as it expands.
Maybe it’s all part of wor Eddie’s and Ashworth’s grand plan.

Comment #67Whoop whoop, Brentford tickets go on sale today. All depends on your lucky number where you get to sit. We’ve worked out that if you get allocated a number below 3K you can get seats together in the Gallowgate, 3/5K and you can get singles in the Gallowgate or a couple together elsewhere, anything after 5K you’re struggling to get them together other than L7 or the L7 family area.

That’s two decisions I don’t understand and I’m still baffled at. But as you say I guess they’ve got their reasons for Dummet. Dubravka however, I just don’t get why we haven’t demanded a fee for him, surely as a pro he understands that if a club wants him and we want to keep him, then at the very minimum we should have demanded £10M. If every player who wanted to leave just I’m not happy I’ll sulk, there’d be chaos in the league’s.

Comment #69Kane wasn’t happy last year that they wouldn’t sell him, it affected his form for a bit and his relationship with the fans but then he knuckled down and got on with it. Dubs should have been told he’s not going anywhere unless Man U stump up the cash or at least rescind this petty stance of not dealing with us.

Comment #72Do we not think it’s a bit too early for Dummet and Ritchie to get in to coaching, they could both still offer a lot at championship level and their experience in a promotion campaign could be invaluable to one club or another.

Comment #76I think if a loyal servant or even a bad one really wants to leave and He’s not essential to the first team, then sometimes It’s good to do right by him and let him go. Although Dubs is just sitting on adifferent bench so I don’t get it. Personally I’d have kept Woodman. He will be another Toney, mark my words. Many have wrote him off based on six games, where he was bang average and one he was poor and the fact he couldn’t dislodge one of the best performing keepers in champo. Although even if we wanted to keep him he seemed desperate to leave.

Comment #78Are there any current or former players of ours that strike you as future management material?
Hayden always struck me as bright and quite tactically astute. He was an organiser too. Trippier is another. Not knocking Howe’s achievements, but I think Trippier is helping to organise the back and isvalso helping with the togetherness which was a big thing at Athletico.

Comment #79Just a half jokey thought, but if they want to avoid bias they should get people like my mam on VAR. You’d have to explain the rules, but a simple ‘Mary, did that one in the red and Blue push that one in black and white’ would get you an unbiased yes.
