Newcastle continue to be linked with young prospects. Yesterday, it was revealed that Rangers midfielder Cole McKinnon has been scouted extensively by the Magpies’ recruitment team. The 19-year-old is currently thriving on loan with Patrick Thistle.
Sport Witness has cited a report from Brazil that Newcastle have contacted Vasco da Gama over their starlet Andrey Santos. The 18-year-old has also drawn interest from Barcelona.
According to the report, Newcastle approached the Brazilian club for information on his situation. That may have alarmed the club as the young Brazilian has since penned a new five-year deal as his previous contract was due to expire next summer.
There is no indication the new contract contains a high release clause. Though Vasco likely rate the 18-year-old very highly and now hold all the cards after getting tying him down on a long-term basis.
Santos could be one to watch for in the coming years. He only turned 18 in May but has already racked up 23 first-team appearances for the Rio-based club. He is involved in the Brazil set-up having been called up for the Brazil U20s in June, though he didn’t make an appearance.

Comment #161Na- it dont cost a penny to register with them at all, i think it may check postcodes for people buying tickets , so if anyone was to register just use a southern postcode and address and then print your ticket …

You shouldn’t get any grief at Fulham but just in case go with, your are writing a book on away fans and how good or bad they are and would like to interview the person pissed off. Now you have your own Fulham body guard. 😉

Comment #167There was a mirmer on here earlier that we have a legend amongst us and within our midst on this blog…
Well on what I’ve read over the years on this great footballing blog and is my humble and honest opinion, there is one true legend on this fine blog, who stands head and shoulders above all others (even though we have a few legends on here in their own right) however this great loyal toon army staunch as they come super fan really does stands head and shoulders above anyone of us on here. The person who is so so passionate, and been a season ticket holder for God knows how many years and more importantly right through the dark days/months/years and is a shining example of what a true proper supporter should be as their support never wavered more importantly in them dark days and sickeningly got a lot of stick on here for doing so however stood their ground proudly and robustly with aplomb, simply for the love of the team, club and the amazing, city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne they are proud to call their home.
The fanaticism and fan Loyalty holds no bounds and is the absolute rock and TRUE voice of reason on this blog, very rarely gets into spats but only does when needed, to put whoever steps out of line rightly back in their box or firmly put back under their rock from where they came from. That person is CARLTOOOOOON the NUFC Toon Army Generaless super fan. I bow to you the queen and true legend of this blog. We should all take a leaf out of your book. You are the TRUE LEGEND on here no doubt about it. The previous earlier claim was like a criminal act of treachery to the blog. Arise the queen of the blog, your like a Mam to the younger ones on here not just wor Rom 🙂

Your star just managed to get 2 tickets for block P3 putney but the seats are away from each other and I’m going with this missus, hopefully I can get someone to give their seat up so I can sit with the missus but thanks for sharing that info earlier otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get them or thought I’d get them. Cheers mate 🙂 think there was only 12 tickets left mind. £65 each

Comment #180All this talk of “not getting the rub of the green” and the like is soft lad talk.
Reality is that VAR decisions have regularly been negligent and have cost us many points and a top 4 slot for now.
No different to a traffic cop telling you its OK to park on yellow lines and then give you a ticket.
Or a Prime Minster saying enjoy the office party before sacking you.
Or a Water Company telling you its safe to swim in the water they’ve just discharged raw sewage into.
Its all cr&p.

On the VAR thing.
I read they’re more or less doing what you were proposing this season.
The attacker line is 1 pixel wide and the defender line is purposely thicker for tight calls. Any overlap and it’s given in attackers favour. Defender line equates to 10cm on pitch apparently so should see more goals.
Also the ball tech on the new VAR in ECL and WC passed data 500 times/sec so that should be accurate for when it leaves the foot.

His sub performances might say different but I don’t think he’s ready to start yet, I’d like him used more as an impact sub till he completely gets used to the PL. Although he’s been given a lot more minutes than Bruno first was.

Comment #197I think Bruno will be on the bench for this game…
ASM is in Monaco I believe and he hasnt trained much. He wont make it.
Wilson isnt even close is he ? Its not a couple of weeks as mentioned…could be a month
As short term as everything seems, its a month worth of games where players are back to a full 90 mins

Comment #198I think Anderson has at least deserved to be the go to sub and not the cameo/ running down the clock role. Although he’s not played much he’s looked better than Fraser and Almiron so I’d not complain if he got the nod.
