Injured Trio Not Spotted In Wednesday’s Training Images

Newcastle have released images, which can be seen here, from Wednesday’s training session. The Magpies are preparing for a trip to West Ham on Sunday.

Unfortunately, none of our star trio – Callum Wilson, Bruno Guimaraes, Allan Saint-Maximin – were involved in today’s training. All three are suffering from minor hamstring injuries with Wilson not expected to be fit for the weekend.

Both Guimaraes and Saint-Maximin didn’t pass late fitness tests for the scoreless draw against Crystal Palace. Saint-Maximin is currently in Monaco receiving specialist treatment. Howe said the following about Allan’s injury last week:

“There is no muscle pull with Allan, it’s more just a bit of swelling. We’re hopeful it won’t be too long.

“Whether or not he’ll be available for the next game at this moment I don’t know. But if not the next one, then definitely the one after.”

Bruno Guimaraes was involved in a Castore meet and greet with Joelinton, Javier Manquillo, and Miguel Almiron yesteray. The Brazilian told NUFC TV that he isn’t certain he’ll be ready for Sunday but is working hard toward his return saying:

“I’ve been working hard for this, it’s my goal. But I don’t know if I will be ready, I know I need to answer this question for many fans today. I am doing my best to be ready.”

To make up the numbers, Howe called up a few of the U21s for today’s session. Remi Savage, Lewis Miley, and Jay Turner-Cooke were spotted in some of the images.

Disgraceful decision to sack Tuchel from Chelsea.

He got them to win the champions league against city in 20/21 season, had them 3rd last season, and they won 2 cups.

    6th in the league.

1 defeat against Dynamo Zagreb and they sack him, unbelievable. id be absolutely fuming if was him or a Chelsea fan.

Who would you rather have, Eddie Howe or tuchel? 🙂

Tuchel was already losing it when he fell out with Lukaku and then the inconsistent results towards the end of last season that carry on to this season. Every club he went has the same sequence of drama unfold.

Moves were afoot during the close season, the owners even sounded out some of the senior pro’s..
I know a season ticket holder or few, they couldn’t stand his football or decisions even taking in to consideration the Champ League win..

On a positive note T.Rex oot for weeks, stand up Mr Pope and Henderson of course..

Agreed, Howe is the man, although I wanted Tuchel at one point, a bullet dodged!

But being sacked by Chelsea doesn’t make him a bad manager.

I’m, very much, more that happy with Eddie Howe as our manager!

He holds respect for everyone and in my opinion everyone holds respect for him.

I think he’s done a fantastic job since coming to NUFC!!!!

A ten queue bus so a reluctant repost.
    TDSarf,
What was naive about it from KK’s side, Ashley lied to him to save us from relegation, why would he not believe this self made Blionaire that nobody knew anything about.

I’d have Eddie over Tuchel every day.
Do not like how he bawls at his players from the touch line continually. No wonder he has(allegedly) lost the dressing room.

If I recall it correctly, KKs financial situation was in a mess so a chance to relive or reprieve some past glories was a god send for him but you are correct he was being handed a poisoned chalice by our esteemed former owner.

Still the compo would have came in useful for him!

JohnJ, could not agree more, whether Howe was or was not someone’s first choice as Manager is now irrelevant.

He is here and I dont think he has put a foot wrong. I dont trust posters who have some issue with Howe as Manager to be honest.

9 – but basing it on the second half of last season just isn’t relevant to me. Just as it wasn’t realistic to expect us to finish in the top 4 after Pardew finished 5th. Last season was last season. You can use it as part of the information to reach an opinion but you seem to be completely ignoring other information. As I’ve said, how do you compare our squad to the squads of the big 6 or the other 4 teams I mentioned?

NY Mag – one trick pony might be a slight exaggeration but not far off and you know what I mean. Plenty of very successful people have virtually been one trick ponies. Ronaldo was a one trick pony when he joined Man Utd with his step overs but he later evolved too, Lineker was a one trick pony with goal poaching but he did alright, there are been loads of players who had an amazing season but were then found out and could never reach the same heights.

They can still be legends, just as KK is.

You don’t need a team of star players to finish as league champions or even top four, Cloughie did it and I’m pretty sure that EH could.

    On the manager subject,
I think clubs should only be allowed to appoint new coaching staff, including the manager during the transfer window, just like players, why should a big club be allowed to potentially upset a smaller clubs season by poaching, say for eg Mr Potter from Brighton, if they make a bad decision make them stick by it,sack him if you want, but make do with whoever is already at the club until the window opens, then pay to transfer a new manager in it the lesser club

Raj – you said it yourself. KK was naive to believe this billionaire that hardly anyone knew anything about. A little research and he’d have realised that they’re chalk and cheese. It was never going to work. KK loves the club and loves football though. Still naive and I wish he’d never come back. He should never have had to have his name mentioned in the same sentence as Ashley.
