Injured Trio Not Spotted In Wednesday’s Training Images

Newcastle have released images, which can be seen here, from Wednesday’s training session. The Magpies are preparing for a trip to West Ham on Sunday.

Unfortunately, none of our star trio – Callum Wilson, Bruno Guimaraes, Allan Saint-Maximin – were involved in today’s training. All three are suffering from minor hamstring injuries with Wilson not expected to be fit for the weekend.

Both Guimaraes and Saint-Maximin didn’t pass late fitness tests for the scoreless draw against Crystal Palace. Saint-Maximin is currently in Monaco receiving specialist treatment. Howe said the following about Allan’s injury last week:

“There is no muscle pull with Allan, it’s more just a bit of swelling. We’re hopeful it won’t be too long.

“Whether or not he’ll be available for the next game at this moment I don’t know. But if not the next one, then definitely the one after.”

Bruno Guimaraes was involved in a Castore meet and greet with Joelinton, Javier Manquillo, and Miguel Almiron yesteray. The Brazilian told NUFC TV that he isn’t certain he’ll be ready for Sunday but is working hard toward his return saying:

“I’ve been working hard for this, it’s my goal. But I don’t know if I will be ready, I know I need to answer this question for many fans today. I am doing my best to be ready.”

To make up the numbers, Howe called up a few of the U21s for today’s session. Remi Savage, Lewis Miley, and Jay Turner-Cooke were spotted in some of the images.

EGB – I’ve never said that we can’t finish top 4 with this squad, I just find it very unlikely. I hope we do finish top 4 but my prediction of where I think we will finish is still 8th.

Raj – same trick at Fulham really. Spend loads of money, play really attacking football in the 2nd tier and get promoted. Can’t remember what he did at Man City but might have been the same again? Then flopped for England and his career was over.

Winning the champions league was a fluke. City should never have lost. Poor decisions by Pep. So I don’t credit Tuchel, I blame Pep. He shouldn’t have lost last year either. I think and I hope he wins it this year. Truly deserved.

EGB – I think our luck will have to turn! We’ll get some borderline penalties going our way sooner or later and surely we can’t have another goal ruled out like in the last game!

I agree Pep was at fault for City’s failure in the CL for last couple of years…he made some strange decisions especially not playing a number 9 in the final a couple of years ago…but never worry…he’ll get it this year…Harland makes all the difference.

That’ll be us in 5 years time

    Onwards and upwards
    Follow the blueprint

Jezza, I like that idea but I also like the system where there was no transfer windows at all…

Given our situation the latter would benefit us more. Imagine how much cheaper some players at struggling clubs would be in November? or April?

EGB, League of Gentlemen was brilliant “Morning Jobseekers”, “you are my Wife now” etc etc. I found it even more amusing as I knew a guy who grew up were some of it was filmed (Todmorden) I often quoted it to him.

Did you know that the town the idea was based on was Alston Cumbria?
