Burn, Fraser, And Guimaraes Start Against Bournemouth

This is the team Eddie Howe has named for this afternoon’s match against Bournemouth. It has two changes from the scoreless draw against Crystal Palace last time out.

Bruno Guimaraes is fit and slots back into the starting eleven with Sean Longstaff making way. Howe has gone with Dan Burn over Sven Botman to partner Fabian Schar at the back.

Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson are not risked with the bench looking very suspect. There’s also no Elliot Anderson in the squad which is a concern. New signing Loris Karius backs up Nick Pope.

Here is who Gary O’Neil has named for the Cherries with former NUFC youth product Marcus Tavernier getting a start.

Newcastle have a great opportunity to push into the top half of the table. A win will move us just outside of a European place. Anything less will be big disappointment heading into the two-week break.

    Mund,

Haaland is just shockingly good, and when he’s crap he’s still pretty good. A phenomena. A fit Haaland must get Citeh that champions league.

BTW – i have changed my username from my actual real name on here recently.

My image is still the same. I dont want anybody thinking i am trying to do something dodgy.

The blog has started to become a bit hostile and i didnt like posting my real name on here all of the time. I am not trying to start a topic here, i dont even mind people kicking off tbh.

shelvey will definitely be very interesting once he’s back. he’s flattered to decieve for so many years now but can be forgiven as he was playing under rubbish managers.

with Howe and our new style of football and geniune quality players around him, will be very interesting what he can do playing in the DM strata allowing Bruno to roam forward as full box to box.

Isak could run riot today if Bournemouth have any ideas about coming and having a go.

Guimares through balls, combined with how good Joelinton has got at counter-attacking dribbling, then releasing the ball.

Perfect set-up for Isak in that instance.

If Bournemouth wants to sit back and be dominated… all the better. Bournemouth could be more difficult to break-down going compact, but Howe wants that attacking psychological edge over teams from the get-go.

also. Isak needs to step up today. he was abysmal the last time out.

Wilson is a top striker but unforuntately he will never ever be fit to play even 3/4 of a season. he’s made of glass, and i believe we will move him on at the end of the season.

It’s the only thing City are missing to put them up there with the very best and surely with Erling they have a better chance than ever before

I’ve changed my mind about this being a high scoring game based on our lack of attacking options on the bench.

    Mind,

Yes, sames goes for all players with great stats.

I would say Messi and Ronny are different though. They scored and created lots of stuff without anybody’s help.

Haaland is not that type of player, still great.. but not like those 2.

Messi’s blend of goal scoring ability, playmaking ability and dribbling ability will be hard for any player to match.

Haaland will be an all time great goal scorer like lewandowski and CR7 before him. But they don’t have that extra sauce that Messi has.

Also, Ronaldo played with SAFs Manchester United and world class players like benzema and bale at Madrid. What are you on about?

Ronaldo and Messi have been different gravy and we’ve been very fortunate to of seen two players of that ilk in our generation.

Before then Ronaldinho was my fave and hands down the most skilful footballer there has ever been

I agree Haaland will be one of the greatest if not greatest of all time.
Already done it in 4 different leagues and still only 22.
Brilliant player and would score in any half decent team imo.

    Limping,

Sort of get what you’re saying and Kane might have been a better fit. Thing is with Citeh though, there’s never going to be a shortage of chances created for him. He just knows exactly where the onion bag is.

    Mund,

Agreed, those two at their best are ridiculous really. Ripped teams to shreds by themselves.

Its Ronny every day for me, he has done it in 3 top leagues and won everything.
Messi is only a tiny bit behind but he is hardly ripping up the french awful league is he?

And again I agree, Ronaldinho skills were on another level. It looked like the ball stuck to his boot..fifa style. Pity he liked partying too much.

He also came to Man U at 36 years of age and still for 20 PL goals in a shite Man U side and not to forget taking Portugal to glory.

They are both greats but IMO Ronaldo was better and just to add I think Ronaldo is a right twunt, can’t stand him.

R9 was the greatest striker that ever lived

Messi was also part of arguably the greatest football side ever seen

    Mumd

Cr7 got injured in the first 5min of the final and was effectively a cheerleader. Messi has won as many international trophies with argentina as Ronaldo has with Portugal. He won copa America last year.

Cr7 is a great goal scorer and that’s all he’s been for the past 7 or 8 years. I’ve seen great goal scorers before. I’ve never seen a complete offensive package that Messi is. Whenever he gets the ball at his feet you expect magic to happen. And he’s got a higher goals to games ratio than Ronaldo to boot.

This argument that Ronaldo has done it on his own is bs. He’s been invisible in many finals and been bailed out by the likes of Ramos and bale.
