Burn, Fraser, And Guimaraes Start Against Bournemouth

This is the team Eddie Howe has named for this afternoon’s match against Bournemouth. It has two changes from the scoreless draw against Crystal Palace last time out.

Bruno Guimaraes is fit and slots back into the starting eleven with Sean Longstaff making way. Howe has gone with Dan Burn over Sven Botman to partner Fabian Schar at the back.

Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson are not risked with the bench looking very suspect. There’s also no Elliot Anderson in the squad which is a concern. New signing Loris Karius backs up Nick Pope.

Here is who Gary O’Neil has named for the Cherries with former NUFC youth product Marcus Tavernier getting a start.

Newcastle have a great opportunity to push into the top half of the table. A win will move us just outside of a European place. Anything less will be big disappointment heading into the two-week break.

Isak hasn’t learned to play in this team yet. He’s completely anonymous.

We would be so much better today with a fit Wilson.

The day we replace Almiron, Fraser and Willock with top players, it’s the time we’ll make huge strides forward as a club.

We’re getting close to that level but you can see how limited those players are week in week out. They should be squad players at best.

So why have we bought him for 63 mil?
Maybe play him in midfield when Callum is back?

This team needs Anderson. We have nothing going forward right now. It’s like they don’t know Isak is on their team.

Bournemouth very compact and lots of niggling fouls. Hopefully by 2nd half they start to all get carded

JP, they are passengers. Not good enough. 3 players who create nothing. But we’re supposed to appreciate them because they “try.”

Jp they are squad players and they’re playing because Asm and Wilson and Shelvey are injured. Id only keep Almiron as squad player sell Fraser Willock Murphy Wood in January

There is no thought in the passing everything is sideways or backwards and as a result they’re not passing past Bournemouth players we have to beat them all over again.

bournemouth have been fantastic today. dogged and very disciplined.

for sure they’ll be thinking we are there for the taking today.

we look terrible going forward. zero creativity whatsoever without ASM and this is the 2nd game without him we look hopeless.

This is a clearer indication that we’re desperate for another creative player or two. I hope we manage to get at least one in in January as without ASM we’re toothless.

We need to be more aggressive and play with more passion. What a waste of a free kick. Need more determination and fight from the lads. Don’t know if Bournemouth can keep their play at this level in the 2nd halve?

40 minutes of terrible football so far. There doesn’t seem to be a plan today. Anderson needs to be on for the second half. I don’t question Eddie, but Fraser and Miggy in the front 3 isn’t working. Once again, Almiron ruins a chance because he has no confidence in his right foot. Tries to switch to his left and allows the defender to close him down. Terrible.
