Journalist Provides Injury Update With Striker Likely Out For A Few Weeks

Despite returning from international duty early, Bruno Guimaraes could feature in this weekend’s match at Fulham. However, Alexander Isak will miss a few weeks with his undisclosed injury.

This is the update from The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards, who also reports that Chris Wood will likely not be available on Saturday. Though, Callum Wilson should make his return but will be the only available striker.

Allan Saint-Maximin is not expected to feature at Craven Cottage though he has not been ruled out. The Frenchman has made progress after suffering a setback with his hamstring injury a few weeks ago.

The situation is far from ideal even if Guimaraes and Wilson are able to play. They likely won’t be risked for the full 90 minutes. It could get very interesting with Isak and Wood unavailable.

Eddie Howe just can’t catch a break as one striker returns only for two others to get injured. He’ll have to wait at least a few more weeks before he can deploy Wilson, Isak, and Saint-Maximin in the same team.

We just can’t catch a break with injuries, doesn’t seem to matter who they are training with

    From previous.

So in summary people are not sure what the roles and responsibilities are of a club ambassador but feel that Shearer and Keegan would be excellent choices

Missed the bus by nearly an hour…so…reposting! 🙂

Nijmegen – I’ve heard similar stories about Shearer too. My impression of him is that he’s an incredibly driven person who demands a lot of others and quite possibly gets frustrated when others don’t meet his expectations. So yes, I can imagine he’s a bit of a tw*t to some people on occasions.

But I’ve also heard that he’s very personable and funny with people he likes and respects. Combine that with his obvious love for the Toon and his experience working in the media, and I’m sure he would be a great asset to convince sponsors, players, staff members etc. to get involved with our fine club. He could really sell the city & the the club talking about his experiences both living and playing here.

Was really hoping to see Isak at Fulham this weekend. No ASM or Isak will be a shame. If Bruno or Wilson don’t make it, that will be a big shame!

Isak out for “a few weeks”.

    Unbelievable.

Wood injured as well, Wilson back but for how long, and Isak might not be playing before the WC if a few weeks means 6 or 7.

Add that to Shelvey out long term, Darlow and Manq, and ASM and Bruno missing matches and it’s been a nightmare start injury wise to the season with just 7 games played.

    Bills Son Is Back,
Like I said earlier, to even think about top six this season we needed everything to go right, it’s football and rarely works like that. I just hope now people don’t start bombarding social media of what our owners should have done instead and blaming Howe and his team for training methods.

Really! All theses injuries, they seem to be so fragile, do they not warm up properly for games, I’m sure I remember Supermac saying he never had a muscle injury, and he always made sure he was well prepared, before a game, he had knee trouble though, but then they just shoved a needle in and pushed them out for the game.

It would seem that wilson’s ready to come back. So they’ll take some of the responsibility off of Isak.

Some of it could be optics, so the coaching staff can work on strategy.

I do like that we are getting into the Moneyball game as stats don’t lie. Put that together with Eddie’s requirement of character and you have an unbelievable winning combination.

I think Eddie wants some time to spend on Isak. Sometimes they just say there’s an unnamed injury. Isak has had no pre season with his new team.

Reports suggest Isak has a lower leg injury. This could be a calf strain which will mean a lengthy layoff.

    The Prince’s Mate,
We will not be relegated, we are building the right way according to the experts we have hired, it might cost us the expectations you had for the season but not for what the players, manager and owners have. We are well on course for a top half finish despite our injuries.

Nig@39…I’ve never thought about relegation, especially with these owners and manager but if injuries continue we will have to accept a top half finish as a good season…imo
