Midfielder Not Risked And Cuts International Duty Short

Bruno Guimaraes has left the Brazil squad and returned to Newcastle. The midfielder picked up a thigh injury forcing him to miss Brazil’s win over Tunisia on Friday.

The Mail’s Craig Hope is reporting Bruno’s injury is not considered serious though confirms he has returned to Tyneside.

After suffering the injury last week, Bruno was on the bench for the 3-0 win against Ghana, though didn’t feature. He wasn’t initially ruled out of tomorrow’s friendly against Tunisia.

That has changed with his withdrawal from the squad and return to Newcastle. He’ll be assessed along with Alexander Isak and Chris Wood, who both picked up injuries while away with their international squads.

Guimaraes had just returned from a layoff with a hamstring injury. He played 70 minutes in the draw against Bournemouth after missing the previous three matches. He recently confirmed the injury occurred during the Manchester City draw.

The fact he won’t do further damage to his thigh while with the Brazil squad is reassuring. Though his availability for Fulham this weekend could be in doubt despite Hope’s assertion that he has not yet been ruled out.

I think for us to have had an exceptional season this year we needed every single star to align, and unfortunately it hasn’t, in the bigger picture of things it doesn’t really matter, we’re on course for a great season and a top ten finish anyway.

We’re going to have to formulate a plan that can break down teams without Bruno, we done OK without him when he first arrived, he was only getting a few minutes for the first half a dozen games.

And? I mean really?? As if Blair did not sell 10’s of billions of arms to them. But, Hey! that’s ok as that government was a far left wing govt. Funny how every party is far left or far right. I tend to average it it out. All of them are centre parties…. Apart from Boris party which was on the lawn.

Sorry for the tardy response, mate… had to do some stuff.
Re: KK & AS not employed by the club, yet.
It suggests that, while they’re probably well tied up with ‘stuff to do’…maybe also, they don’t wanna push the focus away from Eddie and what he’s doing… and feel that they could alter the vibe significantly?
While the fans might appreciate them being involved, the current coaching staff could feel detracted from, in some way?
    Only a theory!!!
    Wadda ya think?

So there’s a chance we could play Fulham with no fit striker, if Wilson isn’t ready and ASM not back. It might be worth playing Almiron as a false 9, with Anderson and Fraser either side of him.

    CLINT FLICK,
No worries, yes, that’s very plausible,.Shearer actually said they were too busy to approach him in an interview he gave awhile back. We seen photo’s of KK and Staveley not so far apart at a match not so long ago as well. It’s inconceivable that they didn’t have a discussion on something. I honestly think an anniversary surprise could be in the air.

I think Wilson is fit and raring to go, I’d say we’ll know more on Friday but Howe is notoriously coy in his pressers.

Do ya think they’ve already gone thru it all and tried to reckon the correct situation, for all involved?
They seem pretty thorough, don’t they?
It wouldn’t surprise me if they had something worked out!

Southgate is now going down the route of not having the players with the necessary ability to play the way he wants to play.
The man is almost as deluded as Kwasi Karteng.

Thank you for all the well wishes, and the poems, because along with the mossy bites, and the crap weather, I’m wishing the next three weeks can’t go quick enough.
Hoping I can get to see the match this weekend in one of the pubs, there’s plenty
    La Liga on the TV.

Thank goodness they didn’t get onto the fact that Grimsby don’t even play in Grimsby. Cleethorpes, last time I looked.

To think we had a big anniversary a few years back, when Shearer and KK were not even invited, because of Ashley.

KK as ambassador? Potentially would be great but I doubt he’d want to toe the party line on some issues though. He can still bang the drum for the Toon in other ways but I’d be a little surprised if he gets an official role with the club. Shearer should do definitely as he’s a different kind of guy but maybe he’s got too many commitments right now.

Carltoon; He has admitted his own fallibility by bemoaning that England don’t produce players like Kimmich or he cannot go and buy the players he needs.
I agree, he should be able to get a tune out of the players he has available.

Saw a stupid comment when scanning the previous post about Real Sociedad putting out some noise regarding lowering the price for Isak. Some fans (and people in general) really do act like the world revolves around them. A club doesn’t need to put out noise that they’re willing to negotiate, they can put out a call to the other club, ask them if they’re still interested and say that they’re willing to entertain offers. We (the fans) play no part in that process, however important some people may think they are.

Nijmegen – his overall personality and track record. He likes to say what he wants to say and do what he wants to do. I suspect that’s why he’s been doing his own thing for years. Suits him.

    ToonDarnSarf,
To be fair, as ambassador they don’t really have to do much, just be at the boxes and hospitality before and after the game. We didn’t hear much from Mocur at all except for when the por so and so had to come on and stick up for Ashley, that can’t have been nice.

Nijmegen – ambassadors must have an important role or why have them? I would assume they are there to help influence sponsors, potential signings, agents etc. They just get a briefing on what to say and what not to say.
